Cameron Stacy—Youth member Cameron lives in Nashville, TN, and has always loved to draw. She has spent past summers visiting her Grandparents here in southern Arizona and has been able to experiment with various media and take art lessons with several members of the San Pedro River Arts Council as well as taking art classes in her schools at home. Cam stays very busy with a variety of activities, which include horse shows and Eventing, varsity soccer, school projects, and art when she can fit it in. Recently, she has also begun to take a serious interest in photography. While in Primary School she twice had work selected for display at the Frist Center for Visual Arts in Nashville. One of her larger paintings was named “Best in Show” at the 2015 Nashville Tomato Festival Art Show; and another work received a Silver Key award in the Tennessee Scholastic Art Competition for Excellence in the Visual Arts. In recent years Cameron has entered works and won awards in the Youth Division in both the Ann Boyd Wade Fine Arts and Photography Show in Willcox and the annual “Celebrate the Arts” Fine Arts and Photography shows in Benson. Most recently, her photo of an elderly Mexican lady resting under a tree won the People’s Choice Award for all photography at the 2017 Spring Willcox show. Cameron will turn 16 this fall, and is a sophomore at Hume Fogg Academic Magnet High School in Nashville. It has been fun to watch her progress as an artist!
