Welcome to the Cambridge Exam Preparation Booklet. This booklet will go

through all that you need to know to prepare for your CAE exam. You will

also receive a series of videos to help.

You should have already received your CAE study book and started working

through this book.

Common European Framework…

This chart shows you the different levels of Cambridge English. You will be

entered for Cambridge advanced English (C1). If you do exceptionally well

you can gain C2. If you don’t do quite as good you will gain B2.

Contents and results…

- There will be a total of 200 Marks.

- You will complete 5 papers.

- 20% / 40 marks each paper.

Broken down as…

- Reading (1 hour 15 mins)

- Writing (1 hour 30 mins)

- Use of English (1 hour)

- Listening (40 Minutes)

- Speaking (40 Minutes)

A 80%-100% C2

B 75%-79&% C1

C 60%-64% C1

B2 45%-59% B2

Online ID – This will be available 2-3 weeks (You will get this date on your

confirmation paper.

Statement of results – 2 months after the exam.

Certificate – 6 Weeks after statement.

What does Cambridge English: Advanced involve?...

dates for your exam. Melissa will book the exam for you and forward the

details to you. You will receive a summary and notification for candidates

like the information below…

What do I need to bring on exam day?...

You must take identification, for example your passport or your national ID

card. This must be the same identification that you added to the

application form.

A bottle of water is a good idea. You can take pens and pencils, but your

centre will also provide these.

A member of SEE will be present on the day of your exam.
