I was given the opportunity to travel across WNY and visit more than 40 different farms and agricultural business. My visits ranged in scope from established 6 th generation dairy farms to startup companies using cutting edge agricultural technology and data to increase yields. The survey data that I collected over the course of my internship provides an in-depth understanding of how precision agricultural technology has developed in the region, how it is being used currently, and where farmers, consultants, and business owners expect it to go in the future. The survey data was summarized in a report for the benefit of NYS farmers, and the report and raw data will be used as a preliminary working point for a study of agricultural technology commissioned by the NYS Department of Agriculture & Markets.
