Provide CL STA/EL (TYP)
Crystal
Text Box
All spot elevations shall be defined with roadway CL STA and offset is location does not correspond to the typical roadway section. -Supplemental FL stationing may/should be provided where FL profiles are provided (i.e.cul-de-sacs, knuckles, etc) All roadway HP's, LP's, PCR's and other roadway transitions and/or critical points as well as inlets that fall within the intersection grading detail are to be included (STA, EL, OS) and verified that they correspond to the pavement grades identified Define beginning and endings for roadway warping...for example at artificial sump inlets Ensure street names correspond throughout the construction plans. (Example: the roadways called in the intersection details and corresponding locations generally identified in the Key Map do not correspond to the Roadway/Stormsewer plan and profiles
Crystal
Text Box
Provide intersection grading details for ALL intersections depicting the roadway crown transitions to meet the through streets. (STA & EL at EOA or FL at 25' even stationing 1+25, 1+50, ....). applicable LP's and inlets need to be included within these details as well as as through street slopes, PCR's, and FLPI's. Ramp/sidewalk elevations are recommended on these details as well. (The standard midblock or similar ramp needs approx 7.5'+ in length to meet ADA grades. That also does not account for the 2%-5% slope in the tree lawns which only adds to the length. In order to meet ADA, sufficient ramp lengths need to be provided, but where tyeing into a detached sidewalk for example that would limit the ability to lengthen a ramp thus required further evaluation of the top of ramp within the confines and the elevations/slopes of the sidewalk behind the ramp. If, as typically done in residential construction, the sidewalk is poured continuously and based on the typical rise behind the curb, this makes meeting ADA not possible without requiring removal of part of the sidewalk to depress it. The information provided in the plans should allow for proper construction in the beginning and if a general detail is not sufficient to achieve this, and it is necessary that the plans provide the supplemental information. Hence the comment and the discussion at the review of the comments flowing the 1st submittal. This issue/comment has not been addressed in the resubmittal - TYP) Additional curb return information may be provided as an alternative to curb return profiles (i.e. defined spot elevations and slopes with % between elevations based on the FL distance between points) Verify assumptions made regarding drainage flow routing. Consider roadway capacity at curb returns and the impacts of the grade transitions from the typical sections (These details to represent actual pavement grades resulting from typical paving practices. The CL STA/EL are critical to define along with corresponding C&G or EOA to determining the extend and acceptable slopes of transitions to be followed in the field via blue-topping)

Example: Hudson (FL+2")-(1.92%*20)=59.34 To ramp pan lip at 58.47 (6% x-slope in pan at ramps) Diff over 6' is 14% slope in front of ramp. By transitioning crown to meet through street at more reasonable rate and adjusting R & L FL to correspond, slopes like this can be greatly minimized where there are small to modest roadway grades on through streets.

Elevations are to be provide at all flowline transitions. Supplemental elevations should also be provided to further demonstrate grading. All elevations are to be definitively tied down (STA/OS). Supplemental FL stationing may be provided as well The round-about and approach lane pavement is to be straight graded from inner to outter curb and gutter. Provide a typical x-section of the round-about. (A cross section is necessary for construction to identify jointing, depths, reinforcement. The truck apron associated mountable C&G should generally reflect depths and reinforcement...this is not just a median it is a round-about island and is to be design to handle the potential traffic loading of larger vehicles and trailers, Further the engineer was to coordinate with the City on the design. Neither have been done. ) Provide a separate exhibit showing turning templates in, out and through the roundabout (all legs) for a WB-50 (Not provided with CD re- submittal) Identify/define LP's, HP's, grade breaks, etc. Turn off sight triangles in details for plan clarity (TYP)
