Le Comité Aide aux devoirs of theTable de concertation jeunesseThe Committee provides after-school help with homework to children and youth living in the community. The project helps provide the necessary tools and materials required for tutorials.

Les Jeunes Correspondants Camp of the Loyola Association forthe Development of YouthThanks to its summer francization camp, Les JeunesCorresponsants, the assocation offers assistance to newly arrived adolescent immigrants in the NDG community who are enrolled in welcomingclasses and who have learning and linguistic difficulties.

Montreal Wado Ryu Karate AssociationThe association empowers vulnerable youththrough martial arts training that strengthens the “inner-self” by building confidence andself-esteem, improving physical health andfostering sportsmanship. The project’s purpose is to provide the necessary equipment for thesafe practice of the sport.

The École Saint-Luc AnnexThe École Saint-Luc annex provides studentswith the support they need. The project seeks toprovide teaching material and sports equipmentto help youngsters with learning difficulties while promoting physical activity.

The NDG Art HiveThe NDG art Hive provides a space to all who wishto create, connect and rediscover their community.The purchase of arts and crafts materials enables families, seniors, students and artists to work collectively to promote artistic expression andgrowth through a number of activities that are free and accessible to all.

Volunteer Association of the CHSLDVigi Reine-Élisabeth Inc.The volunteer association’s mission is to improvethe quality of life of senior residents who have nofamily or who are handicapped and sheltered atthe CHSLD vigi reine-Élisabeth Inc. The project’spurpose is to help plan leisure activities (individual,group and community) that are adapted to the residents’ needs.

The Donations and Sponsorships Program is just one of many ways used by Caisse Desjardins NDG to maintain its cooperative distinctiveness.Organizations, for which support is provided, are required to conduct activities that are cooperative, economic, cultural,

humanitarian, social, sporting or environmental in nature. Through its program, Caisse Desjardins NDG annually supports many local organizations by helping them reach their objectives.Furthermore, by partnering with other regional caisse branches, it contributes to the development and growth of the community.

SOLIDARITY-BASED FINANCIAL PRODUCTS

Choosing Desjardinsis to encourage local andregional initiatives

THE ASSOCIATION COMMUNAUTAIRE D'EMPRUNT DE MONTRÉAL (ACEM)In partnership with the Desjardins Group and the Association communautaired’emprunt de Montréal (aCEM), the Montreal caisse branches have set up a financialeducation program whose mission is to:

• create sustainable jobs for those living in precarious economic conditions • provide access to financing for business-building projects• contribute to the financial education of entrepreneurs

PRÊTS D’ENTRAIDE DU SUD-OUEST (P.E.S.O.)In partnership with other caisse branches in our region, the Association coopératived’économie familiale (ACEF) du Sud-Ouest de Montréal provides help to people facing financial difficulties by offering consulting services to help them manage theirbudget; occasionally they are provided with a small temporary loan to tide them over.

CRÉAVENIRThe Desjardins Group seeks to help young entrepreneurs realize their business goals. To this end, the Group works in cooperation with numerous entrepreneurshipsupport partners in order to provide young entrepreneurs with guidance during the launch phase of their business, as well as financing tools adapted to their needsand resources.

Through CrÉavENIr, Caisse Desjardins branches act in partnership to promote localentrepreneurship and contribute to the growth of their communities.

Caisse Desjardins NDG’s School Caisse program is offered to students of the École Les-Enfants-du Monde. This teaching initiative helps youngsters set up theirfirst savings account and become more responsible in the management of their personal finances.

The popularity of the program is ever increasing. after the first six months of 2017,12% of students were enrolled in the School Caisse. This percentage grew to 17% by December 2017, which represents a 60% increase. Teachers and othereducation professionals at the schoolindicated that they would like the SchoolCaisse program to be introduced in theirchildren’s teaching establishments.
