In the Peg + Cat Big Gig game, kids play songs by matching numbers on a number line. In this activity, two players create their own number lines and see who can be the first to match all the numbers.

Supplies• 12 index cards (3 x 5 inch)

• 2 sheets of 8 ½ x 11 inch paper

• Marker

• Tape

• Ruler, Scissors

Make Your Number Line1. Cut a piece of 8 ½ x 11 inch paper in half lengthwise.

2. Tape the two pieces together to make a 22-inch strip of paper.

3. With a pen or marker, divide the strip into 11 equal segments (each 2-inches wide).

4. Write the numbers 0 – 10 in the segments, one number per segment.

5. Make two number lines.

Play the Game1. Give each player a number line.

2. Combine the two sets of number cards, mix them up, and put them in a pile with the numbers facing down.

3. Player 1 draws a number card and places it on the same number on his/her number line.

4. Player 2 does the same.

5. If a player gets a number he/she already has, it goes to the bottom of the pile and the player’s turn ends.

6. The first player to fill up a number line wins!

How Do I Do It?Make Your Number Cards1. Cut six 3 x 5 inch index cards in half,

Practica el juego1. Dale a cada jugador una recta numérica.

2. Combina los dos conjuntos de tarjetas, revuélvelas y ponlas en una pila con los números hacia abajo.

3. El jugador 1 dibuja un número de la tarjeta y lo coloca en el mismo número en su recta de números.

4. El jugador 2 hace lo mismo.

5. Si un jugador recibe un número que ya tiene, pongan la carta en la parte inferior de la pila y termina el turno del jugador.

6. El primer jugador que llene una recta numérica será el ganador.
