ABOUT USThe Bhatia Hospital started in 1932 as a 24 bed Maternity Ward. There are hardly any private Charitable Hospitals in those days and the Trustees made a small begining with 24 beds.

This was made possible by Mooljee Jaitha Family and Thackersay Family, both of whom donated substantial amounts in 1931 and formed a Charitable Trust and started the hospital in Mumbai for the benefit of poor and middle class.The said trust was founded with the following trustees:Seth Chatrabhuj GordhandasSmt. Sunderbai Hansraj Pragji ThackersaySeth Lalji NaranjiSeth Madhavji Damodar Thackersay andDr. Jadavji Hansraj

THE GROWTHWithin a short span of 4 years the hospital moved into an imposing new building with the devotion and preseverance of Dr. Jadhavji Hansraj and a magnanimous contributions by Seth Vallabhdas Cursondas Natha who not only donated his estate at Tardeo but gave in 1935, Rs. 4 lakhs towards cost of construction of the new building, which accommodated 100 beds, a four fold growth in just four years.

One of its kind unique system in the whole of Mumbai – probably in India for giving complete information about Patient Billing on a Touch Screen type Information Kiosk. It not only gives the billing information as reflected in the hard copy (paper bill printout), it goes beyond that by providing a three dimensional view of the billing. It is hierarchical modular information package with drop down information of the various components involved in the billing. To have a birds eye view of the billing, a Colourful Pie Chart of the Bill is presented and by touching the screen on any of the pie or color in the Pie Chart, the complete breakup of the various billing components included in that Pie is presented. This kiosk also gives general information about the hospital, OPD Timings, Internet connection for useful health related links and much more.

As per the High Court order, we have established

Indigent Patients ward (totally free ward) and

Weaker Section ward (with 50% concession).

Persons whose gross family income is upto Rs

25,000 per annum is entitled for indigent ward

and persons whose gross family income is upto

Rs 50,000 per annum is entitled for weaker

section.

A team of dedicated staff has been appointed by

the hospital, to process the applications for free

and subsidized treatment to poor patients.

a Senior Citizen Discount of 25 % on hospital

OPD and diagnostic services (15% on CT scans

is not applicable to private OPD.
