Creation of quality human resources, knowledge in agriculture and fostering application of the same for prosperity andsustainable development.

Mission

1. To create globally competitive and aptly skilled human resources in agriculture and allied fields.2. To generate

Objectives

1 Impart up-to-date basic education in the fields of agriculture, veterinary & animal sciences and allied fields

2 Create a pool of scientific manpower in the fields of agriculture, veterinary & animal sciences, and allied fields through postgraduate

teaching and research.

3 Carry out strategic and applied research in agriculture and allied fields.

4 Generate need based technologies for different conditions.

5 Produce and supply need based specific quality inputs for the farmers.

6 Assessment of generated technologies and recommendation of appropriate ones.

Functions

To impart education to undergraduate and postgraduate students in the area of Agriculture, Veterinary, Basic and Home Sciences.1

Conducting research and develpoment of technologies in the field of agriculture, veterinary and animal sciences, home science and

basic sciences.

Planning, implementation and coordination of various extension education programmes of all the departments of four constituent

colleges and research stations in close collaboration with the State Departments of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and other

concerned departments and institutions.

Teaching : To generate trained manpower in the field of agriculture by imparting education in various disciplines of agriculture. To

generate resource pool in the field of animal husbandry by imparting education in various fields of veterinary and animal sciences. To

impart education in the fields of food processing and hospitality management. To impart education in basic fields of science to support

the agricultural and allied disciplines. To reorient and revise the curricula for undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in compliance of

mandates of national regulatory bodies as well
