The power went off on Tuesday morning

On Wednesday we began to cook

We worked with what we had

Our makeshift hand washing station

Our Candlelit Bathroom

We had to boil hot water to wash dishes

And Then Came The Generator…

Praise God!!!

Our church became a bright light in a dark town

And people were drawn to it

Families warmed their bodies

And we began to warm their bellies

People kept coming

And we just kept serving

So many people came to help

Bathrooms were cleaned

Drinks were restocked

The Sidewalks were shoveled

Labor on electrical wiring was donated

The fuel for the generators was always stocked

Donations were given

And more donations were given

Dishes were washed…

With water boiled on the stove

Laundry was washed and dried by hand

The Siskiyou County Department of Human Services bought us groceries that helped us serve four meals.

The Office of Emergency

Services provided a generator

The resource Center scheduled meal deliveries to those in need…

and volunteers delivered them

A prayer was said before every meal with all who were in the building

Most of our meals were from scratch

We cooked up a storm

If we can do this much now, imagine what we can do with a new kitchen

We were a 24 hour shelter for a few nights…

And the children had a ball!

This girl cried when it was time to go. Her parents asked about

Sunday school. Praise God!

Matthew 5:14"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. 15Neither do

people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it

gives light to everyone in the house.
