Thank you for your prayers while I was on retreat!- Fr. Andy I don't know what your experience has been like this summer, but I feel like these last few months have been crazy and jam-packed. There's always something going on every weekend andeven most week nights like we're trying to make up for all thethings we missed out on over the last year. To top it all off, my husband and I just bought a house and areexpecting our first baby in four short weeks! Between unpacking, getting the house ready for baby, planning ahead for maternityleave, all the things I normally do day to day and week to week, and growing a human, I feel like I often don't have much energyat the end of the day (or the middle or the beginning). Survivalmode seems to be setting in early for this new parent. In the midst of all this craziness, I've seen my spiritual lifesuffer. Getting up early for daily Mass has become a burden.Setting aside dedicated time for prayer on the weekends is evenmore of an inconvenience. Spiritual reading seems superfluouswhen there's a nursery to be put together, dinner to be made, lesson plans to be created, and all I want to do is mindlesslystare at my Facebook feed scroll under my thumb. As I've given in to these temptations, I've seen a change in myoverall disposition. When my spiritual life is on the back-burner,I'm always emotionally drained. I'm spent. I can't do anymore. But, when I push myself to make my relationship with God mymain priority, I can see my disposition brighten. God gives me agrace to remain joyful despite the overwhelming number ofthings on my to-do list. I know I'm not unique. You're just as busy as I am, but Jesuswas a busy guy too. He lived His life as a model that we're calledto imitate and in that regard I think Mark 1:35 is one of the mostimportant verses in Scripture: "Rising very early before dawn, Heleft and went off to a deserted place, where he prayed." Ourspiritual lives look different as our lives change, but we alwaysneed to work for it. It will make all the difference. -Amanda

GloriaGlory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to peopleof good will. We praise you, we bless you, we adore you,we glorify you, we give you thanks for your great glory,Lord God, heavenly King, O God, almighty Father. LordJesus Christ, Only Begotten Son, Lord God, Lamb of God,Son of the Father, You take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us; you take away the sins of the world, receive our prayer; you are seated at the right hand of theFather, have mercy on us. For you alone are the Holy One,you alone are the Lord, you alone are the Most High, JesusChrist, with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father.Amen.

Nicene CreedI believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heavenand earth, of all things visible and invisible. I believe in oneLord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born ofthe Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father through him all things weremade. For us men and for our salvation he came downfrom heaven, (all bow) and by the Holy Spirit was incarnateof the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake he wascrucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and wasburied, and rose again on the third day in accordance withthe Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated atthe right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory tojudge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have noend. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with theFather and the Son is adored and glorified, who hasspoken through the prophets. I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism forthe forgiveness of sins and I look forward to theresurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come.Amen.
