S.O.1316(E).-In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 3 of the Protection of PlantVarieties and Fanners' Rights Act, 2001 (53 of2001), the Central Government hereby nominates: (i) Vice Chancellor,Central Agricultural University, Imphal, Manipur, (ii) Secretary, In-charge of Agriculture, Government of Haryana,Chandigarh and (iii) Secretary, In-charge of Agriculture, Government of Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad as non-offiCialMembers of the Protecti~mof Plant Varieties and Farmers' Rights Authority and;for that purpose makes the followingf.lrther amendments in the Government of India in the Ministry of Agriculture (Department of Agriculture and Co-operation) published in the GazetteofIndia, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii) videNumber S.O. 1589(E),dated the 11thNovember, 2005, namely :- .

In !hesaid notification, for entries (xii), (~v) and (xv), the following entries shall be substituted, namely :-

I am directed to state that the Central Government has nominatedthe following non-official Members of Protection of Plant Varieties &Farm~rs' Rights (PPV&FR) Authority by the Notification published in theGazette of India, vide S.O. 1316 (E) dated 11.05.2009 (copy enclosed):

(i). Vice Chancellor, Central Agricultural University, Imphal, Manipur...

(ii). Secretary, In charge of Agriculture, Government of Haryana,Chandigarh.

(iii). Se'cretary, In charge of Agriculture, Government of AndhraPradesh, Hyderabad.

2. The PPV&FR Authority established under section 3(1) of PPV&FR Act,2001 is a body corporate having 'autonomous character and is wotkiri'g-f6r-~-=:-.:,the implementation of provisions of the Act. The copy of the Act andSu bordinate Legislations made there -under can be downloaded from theweb site of the Authority Le., www.plantauthoritv.gov.in

3. The PPV&FR Authority would further contact with the non-officialmembers so nominated for their contribution towards rapid implementationof the Act.
