• This act was passed in 1990 named for Louisiana Senator John Breaux
• The act’s main goal is focusing on restoration and protection of Louisiana wetlands
• This has established the Costal Wetland Conservation Grant Program
• 70% funds go to the state of Louisiana
• 15% funds go to the Costal Wetland Conservation Grant Program
• 15% funds go to the North America Wetlands Conservation act Program

• Produces partnerships in reducing wetland loss
• Provided $33-$44 million per year in funding for the Louisiana for restoration projects
• Provided $7-$8 million a year in funding for the Costal Wetlands Conservation Act for restoration projects
• This act is funded through taxes from fishing equipment, import duties, small engine and motor boat fuels
