Overcoming childhood or adulthood traumas is

often difficult. This article describes what traumasare, how they affect us, and a new method of traumarelease that is extremely effective, simple and buildshealth at the same time.

WHAT ARE TRAUMAS?

Traumas are painful incidents or events that

place a special type of stress on the mind. As aresult, a person decides that he or she mustnever revisit the incident, as it would be toopainful.

Instead, the person feels compelled to “wall off”the event or incident so that one will not“accidentally” or haphazardly revisit the trauma, which would be extremely painful. This can meanintentionally or unconsciously forgetting that it everhappened, or altering one’s memory of it to make itseem less painful, or even concocting a lie to explainthe situation.

As a result of this process, however, the personstops functioning at full brain capacity. The reason isthat part of the brain processing mechanism has been“walled off” or subtly altered in some way, and is nolonger available for full use by the person. This, in away, cripples the person, often for life.

HOW TRAUMAS AFFECT US Living with traumas is like having to drivearound large boulders or large potholes in the roadthat you must drive every day to your workplace or

home. By definition, one cannot just move throughthese blocks, so the mind and sometimes the bodydoes its best to “go around them” as much as it can. In so doing, however, many vital functions are alteredand usually vitality is reduced and health suffers, too. In other words, traumas are blocks that get inthe way of one’s thinking, feeling, perception, memory, and perhaps other brain functions. Also, many traumas affect physical functioning as well, suchas digestion, sleep, movement if the structure isaffected, heart function, immune response and manyothers. These are some of the major effects oftraumas.

Traumas often cause people to lie to themselvesand others, or intentionally block out or forget painfulincidents or accidents. This sets up severe conflictsinside the mind that can lead to many other mentaland physical dysfunctions. Traumas also severelylower one’s energy and self esteem, and can havemany other effects upon the personality.

Walling off a part of the brain also causesneuroses, such as fear of guns, for example, if onewas involved in a gun incident, or fear of men if onewas raped, for example. It can also cause strangebehaviors, compulsions, phobias, and even psychoticepisodes and conditions such as schizophrenia.

Indirectly, traumas can cause much more, suchas gaining too much weight or being too thin, physicaldisabilities such as limping, impaired respiratory, cardiac, immune and other physical disorders anddiseases.

Other effects are diminished mental acuity, extreme nervousness in certain situations, bad habitsto avoid feelings of panic and anxiety such ascigarette smoking, using drugs, using alcohol, bitingthe fingernails, eating disorders, stuttering, and manyother symptoms.

Trauma is not even considered most of the time

one visits a doctor, but it should be, as it is a majorcause of mental and physical illness, along withnutritional deficiencies, of which trauma is one causeor a contributing factor. The importance of nutritionfor healing traumas is discussed below. I will just sayhere that the better nourished and more balanced thebody, the better anyone will handle all types ofphysical and mental traumas. Excellent nutritionhelps make a person more resilient and more able toprocess all types of traumas, so it can literally saveone’s life in the event of a serious injury, accident orother trauma-inducing event.

EXAMPLES OF TRAUMAS

Traumas can be of three basic types. They can

involve serious injury to the body, serious afflictionsof the mind or emotions, and they can involve thesoul or spirit. However, most traumas involve allthree of these areas of human functioning, so I will listthem together. Here are examples of commontraumas:

1. Physical violence against the body. Thismight include being beaten, raped, screamed at,forced to have too much sex or going too long, political oppression with deprivation, being forced togo into a war zone, muggings, robberies, or animalattacks such as being bitten by a shark. It mighteven involve having to take a course of a drugtherapy like chemotherapy with all the horrible sideeffects.

Other physical acts of violence include severeaccidents and injuries, or even going through a severefever or other illness. The worst illnesses are oftenthose involving physical pain, physical disfigurementsuch as losing one’s hair or having one’s skin burnedor fall off, or something else that is horrible to behold.

Page 4: By Lawrence Wilson, MD 2

by Lawrence Wilson, MD

http://www.drlwilson.com/ARTICLES/TRAUMA%20RELEASE.htm[27/10/2013 9:16:10 p.m.]

Other physical acts of violence involve bullying, hazing, knife and gun violence, gang violence, andfights with the loss of teeth, for example, or brokenarms.

Other physical traumas include difficult births, retarded or delayed development children, birthdefects, violence in children, and deaths of lovedones, even the death of one’s dearly loved pets.

2. Emotional traumas of all kinds. This means

harassment, embarrassment, humiliation, deprivation,or insults of some kind. For example, this mayinvolve a parent who is too critical, who yells, whoswears or punishes too harshly. It could be a schoolteacher who picks on a child or won’t let a child usethe restroom. it could be a boss who picks on anemployee. It often involves bullying, hazing and such– more on emotional and psychological levels.

3. Social traumas. These are many, including

being ostracized or ex-communicated by your family, your community, your church or others. It mightinclude being slandered, ruining of one’s reputation orgood name by others. It might also include a verybitter and prolonged divorce, getting sued, job loss, bankruptcy, foreclosing on a home, or even justextreme poverty.

4. Spiritual/religious traumas. These may

include membership in certain religions, cults, voodoo, black magic, witchcraft, satanic rituals, certain otherspiritual groups and organizations, guru situations insome cases, vegetarian and raw food groups, sadly, and other negative or harmful religious initiations oracts that are billed as spiritual or religious.

For example, recently several people were killedin an Native American sweat lodge ceremony thatwent too long. People were distracted by the

Page 5: By Lawrence Wilson, MD 2

religious/spiritual nature of the event and did notrealize the danger they were in. Groups, in fact, cando many things to traumatize people, eitherconsciously or unconsciously. These include strangeprayers, in some cases, long events that cause sleepdeprivation, various rituals, and much more.

5. Witnessing. Just observing or even hearing

about the horrors of other people can be quitetraumatic, especially for children. It might includewitnessing murders, rapes, robberies, screaming, beatings, parents fighting each other, throwing thingsaround the house, throwing food, living in a war zone, living in a place that has an earthquake, tsunami orother natural disaster, a terrorist attack, a buildingcollapse, freezing cold or extreme heat, or somethingelse.

Even witnessing violence or horror on television,on the computer, or the movies can cause trauma insusceptible individuals, especially if the person wastraumatized earlier in life in a somewhat similarmanner.

WHO BECOMES TRAUMATIZED?

Unfortunately, most of us have been traumatized

to a degree, at least. For example, children areextremely sensitive and even a simple look or harshcomment from a parent or a teacher can definitelytraumatize a child easily. Adults, also, often becometraumatized easily, especially when the circumstancesare right and the adult is vulnerable for some reason.

In fact, just living in modern society cantraumatize some people, as there is a lot of stress inmost families and work situations. These are usuallynot severe traumas, but they do affect people’sthinking and behavior. In this way, entire cultures aretraumatized, at times, and this fact is not well enough

Page 6: By Lawrence Wilson, MD 2

appreciated. It can lead to misunderstanding, miscalculations, and even to wars based upon trauma, and not upon real information.

For example, today in some nations children arefalsely taught that all Western people are “satans” ordevils. This is a type of trauma for these children, both because it is false, and because the informationis imparted with a very upsetting emotional force orcharge. Such children grow up full of hatred and fear, which colors their thinking and their behavior for theirentire lives unless they are able to see through it andundo the trauma of their upbringing and education.

TRAUMA PATTERNS ON HAIR MINERAL TESTS

While not always associated with trauma, the

following patterns are generally indicators of thepresence of significant trauma:

1. An all poors pattern. This is a chart with

many poor eliminator patterns. These indicatedifficulty releasing toxic metals. For some reason, perhaps a type of stress on the body, this isassociated with the presence of trauma in the body orsoul.

2. A sodium/potassium ratio less than 1,

and more so when it is less than about 0.67. Thisis a significant electrical discharge pattern. It is alsoassociated with feelings of frustration, resentment andhostility, common effects of experiencing a trauma. For much more on this important pattern, read LowSodium/Potassium Ratio.

3. A calcium level above 200 mg%, and

more so if the calcium level is greater thanabout 280 mg%. The elevated calcium is a calciumshell pattern. Above 200 mg% is called a double shell

Page 7: By Lawrence Wilson, MD 2

by Lawrence Wilson, MD

http://www.drlwilson.com/ARTICLES/TRAUMA%20RELEASE.htm[27/10/2013 9:16:10 p.m.]

pattern. Above 280 mg% or so is called a triple shellpattern. The multiple shell pattern seems to berelated to the presence of trauma.

In these cases, a person may be said to be“hiding” to some degree behind a shell or wall. On aphysiological level, the elevated calcium acts as abuffer that actually numbs the person a little, andreduces awareness somewhat. This may be neededafter experiencing a trauma, or it may just be theresult of trauma.

4. A double low ratio pattern on the second

four numbers on an ARL hair test graph. This is apattern in which the levels of iron, copper, manganeseand zinc visually and in terms of their ratios form adouble low ratio pattern. The ratio of iron to coppermust be less than 0.8 and the ratio of manganese tozinc must be less than about 0.002.

Visually, the level of iron visually must be quite abit lower than the level visually of copper, and it is asawtooth pattern.

The patterns on the second four minerals seem torepresent a deeper level of the mind or soul. Adouble low ratio pattern is a double give-up or slowdeath pattern.

5. Possibly a copper level greater than about

25 mg%. Copper Toxicity Syndrome is quiteinteresting. A lot of copper in the body can act as amechanism to detach a person from stress. Theperson often feels a little spacey or detached. Thismay be needed if one experiences a trauma, or maysimply be one result of trauma. A copper levelgreater than about 50 mg% is a double indicator.

6. A sodium of 1 mg%. This is what is called a

victim pattern.

by Lawrence Wilson, MD

http://www.drlwilson.com/ARTICLES/TRAUMA%20RELEASE.htm[27/10/2013 9:16:10 p.m.]

7. A high CA/K ratio - greater than 250:1.8. Any extreme pattern of the

macrominerals. Trauma is not always obvious from a hair mineral

chart, so any pattern can be present. However, thepatterns above are quite reliable.

These indicators are still being researched, and Iwill update this article periodically as more becomesknown about trauma patterns on hair mineral charts.

RELEASING TRAUMAS – CONVENTIONALMETHODS

Counseling. Counseling is one of the main

modalities, if not the major one, used today in mostnations to help people who have gone throughtraumas. Counseling and psychotherapy can help by1) improving awareness and logical thinking about atrauma, 2) reducing some chaos in a person, even byforcing a person to arrive at regular counselingsessions and spend a solid hour sitting quietly, 3)providing a safe environment to talk and think aboutthe past, 4) providing insights and information aperson needs about how to live, etc., and 5) possiblyestablishing a healthy relationship with a moregrounded and centered individual, and 6) in somecases, delving deeply into the causes and conditionsaround a trauma to help heal it. Unfortunately, this isusually not nearly enough to resolve traumas on deeplevels.

Common psychological and counselingapproaches to trauma counseling include suchmethods as:

1. Loving the person unconditionally. This is the

most common method. It involves listening to theperson, accepting as fact any assertions, claims or

Page 9: By Lawrence Wilson, MD 2

stories the person may tell, and supporting the personin whatever he or she wants to say or even do aboutthe trauma. Of course, this is not always best, but itis one approach.

2. Confrontation or hating. This is somewhat the

opposite of the method above. It involves challengingthe person who has been traumatized to be strong, face facts, fight back, take a stand and realize how heor she may have contributed to the attack or incidentor situation. This is also useful at times, andnecessary in some cases to help a victim of rape, forexample, to be logical and take steps to prevent arecurrence, perhaps.

3. Constant questioning. This is another common

approach that is very good, when done correctly. Thetherapist keeps asking questions to delve moredeeply, not only about the incident or trauma, butabout the person’s feelings about it, desires, fears, attitudes, and perhaps plans for the future. It isimportant that the counselor follow through withmany questions to draw out the person and help himor her think through the incident very clearly andconcisely, and not draw conclusions, as mostcounselors do. That is the key to this method.

4. Psychoanalysis. This is an older method of

therapy that is very slow, but okay if one can afford itand afford the time it takes. It consists of somequestioning, some word associating, such as askingthe person “What does the word rape remind you of?”, and many such questions to draw out the person, some dream analysis, and some listening. SigmundFreud, MD taught and popularized this method inEurope, especially, and in America, but it is not usedmuch today due to its high cost, mainly.

Page 10: By Lawrence Wilson, MD 2

by Lawrence Wilson, MD

http://www.drlwilson.com/ARTICLES/TRAUMA%20RELEASE.htm[27/10/2013 9:16:10 p.m.]

5. Jungian dream analysis. This is a potentiallypowerful method, but requires a very skilled therapistto monitor and interpret dreams.

6. Auditing. This is a method used to reduce

traumas in Scientology. It involves the use of a typeof galvanic skin response test. This is somewhat likea lie detector test to assess the truth or falsehood of aperson’s answers. Professional lie detectors, however, are far more sophisticated today.

7. Gestalt, transactional analysis, client-centered

therapies, heart awakening, and other more modernvariants on basic cognitive therapy. These are allhelpful to a degree, provided the therapist is veryskilled, which unfortunately is not that common.

8. Regression therapy using hypnosis. This is

another powerful cognitive method that is usedprofessionally, at times, and should probably be usedmore. The person is regressed under hypnosis to thescene or time of the trauma. Then the therapist asksa lot of questions to assess the truth of the incident, and then brings the person back to the present. Thenthe two discuss it all, demystify the trauma, andattempt to heal it using talk or other means.

This therapy can give the most insight quicklyand accurately. The problem is that just rehashingthe incident does not clear it. New hypnoticsuggestions can be implanted using hypnosis, butthese do not always work and can make thingsworse. So hypnotherapy is not used too much fortrauma, but can be extremely helpful if the therapistis very good.

PROBLEMS WITH ALL TALKING THERAPIES

Psychotherapeutic approaches all can work to

Page 11: By Lawrence Wilson, MD 2

some degree, but often leave much to be desired. Problems with almost all counseling include:

1. It is simply not powerful enough, in almost all

cases, to dig deeply into buried traumas and undothem completely. This is a difficult process, at best, and very difficult just using talk therapies of any kind, even hypnosis.

2. Counseling is very variable in its results, as itdepends upon a) the skill of the counselor, and b) thecounseling method. The method may be lessimportant than the therapist, but results vary widely. While some counselors are wonderful, many are notthat skilled or experienced with trauma, in particulareven if the counselor has survived a serious trauma. Many counselors have not perfectly healed their ownwounds, and this causes problems as well in manycases.

3. Traumas are layered in the body, with themost important being the oldest, and often the mostdeeply hidden. Most counseling can only get to theproblems that a person knows about, so it tends tomiss the deeper layers of trauma that are heldunconsciously.

4. High cost and slow progress. Counseling tendsto be very costly, especially if it is continued for someyears.

5. Adverse effects. This may sound strange, but Iam aware of many people who have been made moreangry and more depressed by counselors andpsychotherapists. This occurs frequently, in fact, andis not an easy problem to solve because counseling isso subjective and people who have been traumatizedare, at times, so sensitive to a word, a phrase or evena look or a gesture. Also, while some practitionersare excellent, many simply are not as good. Sayingthe wrong thing to a traumatized person can bedevastating and even cause suicide.

Page 12: By Lawrence Wilson, MD 2

OTHER POPULAR HEALING MODALITIES USEDFOR TRAUMA

Drugs for trauma. Medical doctors andpsychiatrists regularly prescribe anti-depressants,anti-anxiety drugs, muscle relaxants, stimulants, andoccasionally narcotics and anti-psychotic drugs. These definitely help control some effects of traumasuch as depression, anxiety, fears, phobias and post-traumatic stress disorder episodes. In no way dothese drugs “cure” the problem, however.

Problems with drug use for traumas includes thecost, and unwanted and toxic side effects that caninclude suicide, homicide, and other horrors. Soplease be careful using drugs of any kind, includingrecreational drugs, after a trauma to handle yoursymptoms.Drugs have another use. They can literally dull themind to block out all perception. This is different fromdealing with specific effects of trauma. However, thisuse of drugs is also dangerous, since dulling the mindcan make a person far more vulnerable to accidents, rape, depression and other problems.

Other methods. These include biofeedback, useof other electronic machines, religious conversion withprayer and other rituals, and occasionally meditation, and bodywork such as yoga, chiropractic and Rolfing. These methods vary in their effectiveness, but candefinitely help somewhat. Chiropractic, for example,is always needed after a rape or an accident, in myexperience. It can be life-saving. It will not undo atrauma, however. It just fixes the structural damage, which can be extensive.

Rolfing and structural integration, and even deepmassage, may go deeper, but also are usually notenough to restore the body and mind fully. I suggest

avoiding almost all yoga. For all the reasons why this, read Yoga, Its Benefits and Problems on this website.

A NEW APPROACH TO TRAUMA RELEASE

This rest of this article describes how nutritional

balancing science has proven itself over and over tobe the most powerful, and a rather simple andeffective way to deal with traumas. It does not justcontrol the effects of trauma, but actually brings upand enables the release of deeply hidden memoriesand events.

It can do this in a non-threatening manner. Additionally, the pace and intensity of healing is underthe control of the person, not a counselor or anyoneelse. Its cost is also far less than counseling, forexample. An important “side effect” is that one’soverall health improves drastically in most cases, because it drastically increases the body’s adaptiveenergy level. Indeed, this is one of the keys to itssuccess that permits and produces deep healing of themind, and the body.

So far, this method of trauma release isextremely safe as well, and can be used by anyone atany age. Even if a trauma occurred years before, itappears to work. It can be used by children as well asthose in their 60s, 70s, or even 80s to release oldtraumas that hold one back in one’s life.

Another significant advantage is that one doesnot need to know what the trauma was, at all. Onejust follows the program, which increases the body’senergy and processing ability, and whatever traumasare there will surface in the proper order and time, using the body’s own wisdom to figure out the propersequence and timing.

Many people report feeling not only healed, butable to perform mentally and emotionally even betterthan they could before their trauma, such as a rape,

Page 14: By Lawrence Wilson, MD 2

by Lawrence Wilson, MD

http://www.drlwilson.com/ARTICLES/TRAUMA%20RELEASE.htm[27/10/2013 9:16:10 p.m.]

occurred. The reason for this is that nutritionalbalancing actually builds health, and this enhancesbrain and nervous system functioning often to levelsthat were not possible ever before. Now let us discussthis method in much more detail.

PRINCIPLES OF THE SYSTEMS OR ENERGETICMETHOD OF TRAUMA RELEASE

The principles upon which nutritional balancing

rests are very poorly understood and, in fact, largelyunknown in the medical and psychologicalcommunities. However, they are very powerful andeffective and are based on modern systems theory, stress theory, chaos theory, and other more modernand somewhat more esoteric understanding of thebody and mind. They include the following:

1. THE ABILITY TO REVISIT, REPROCESS

AND CLEAR TRAUMAS OF ALL KINDS IS HIGHLYDEPENDENT UPON HAVING A HIGH LEVEL OFADAPTIVE ENERGY OR VITALITY LEVEL. A loweroverall energy level is associated with being stuck intraumas.

Increasing adaptive energy is therefore the singlegreatest key in many cases to heal traumas. This issubtle because adaptive energy is different from theenergy a person may seem to have to carry out dailytasks and activities. The latter may appear perfectlynormal. However, in most cases, a hair mineralanalysis, when performed and interpreted correctly, will show severe energy loss.

Adaptive energy is not having energy for yourdaily activities. Adaptive energy is the ability toflexibly adapt to stress and overcome it handily. It isa type of vitality, which is different, for example, fromnervous energy that many people think is a highenergy level.

Page 15: By Lawrence Wilson, MD 2

by Lawrence Wilson, MD

http://www.drlwilson.com/ARTICLES/TRAUMA%20RELEASE.htm[27/10/2013 9:16:10 p.m.]

2. A PRINCIPLE RELATED TO THE ONE

ABOVE IS THAT IT TAKES ENERGY TO FEELFEELINGS, EVEN FEELINGS OF DEPRESSION ORSADNESS, FOR EXAMPLE. Most people who aretraumatized do not feel deeply enough, so theycannot process traumas properly, or at all. They arestuck for this reason alone. Most people do notrealize this until they regain or develop a very highlevel of adaptive energy, at which time processing andretracing occur naturally. Many people today havenot had a high adaptive energy level in years, orperhaps never experienced this their entire lives.

While this seem shocking, it is true. For example,Dr. Paul Eck, my teacher and mentor, used to speakof “burnout babies”. By this he meant children andadults who have never had a really high adaptiveenergy or vitality level. The problem is quite commontoday because most babies are born with significantnutrient deficiencies, along with high levels of toxicmetals in their bodies. Both are due to imbalances intheir mothers.

These problems can be overcome in the future. However, conventional pre-natal care and child-raising methods in Western developed nations and inAsia do not address these subtle nutritional problemsvery well. As a result, most babies do not have a highadaptive energy level compared to what they couldhave. In addition, the increasing use of vaccines, medical drugs and the atrocious diets of many infantand children quickly deplete the vitality of any youngchildren who may have been born with a high vitalitylevel.

3. DEPLETING A PERSON’S ADAPTIVE

ENERGY LEVEL IS ONE OF THE KEYS TOTRAUMATIZING HIM OR HER. HEALING TRAUMAIS THE EXACT REVERSE PROCESS. For example,

Page 16: By Lawrence Wilson, MD 2

by Lawrence Wilson, MD

http://www.drlwilson.com/ARTICLES/TRAUMA%20RELEASE.htm[27/10/2013 9:16:10 p.m.]

upsetting a person, hurting a person, or a seriousillness always lowers vitality, and this sets one up fortrauma.

Another type of trauma is oppression by adictatorial government. This may be induced byallowing the people to starve in the midst of plenty, depriving them of basic human rights, beating andraping the women and the men, or randomlymurdering people to instill fear and despair. Suchmethods were used in a systematic way, for example,in Hitler’s Germany, the former Soviet Union, andmost other police or military dictatorships. They arestill used in many parts of Africa and in some Asiannations as well. Even in Western nations, unscrupulous leaders lie to confuse and confound thepeople, thus keeping the people off balance and in alower energy state.

Manipulative people of all stripes also controlothers by depleting their energy. For example, theymay continuously upset others, nag or bother others,or say things that intentionally discourage others. Avery common technique is to lie to others, which isconfusing and depletes energy because the otherperson must spend energy trying to figure out what istrue and what is not. For a much more completedescription of how people are manipulated andtraumatized, read How People Are Influenced Mentallyon this website.

In this way, depleting people’s energy is a key totraumatizing them and keeping them down, whileraising one’s energy level is a key to healing alltraumas.

4. REDUCING CHAOS HELPS ONE TO REVISIT

AND RETRACE TRAUMAS SAFELY AND EASILY. That which is called chaos is the sum total ofdiscordant energy in a person. The more of it one hasin one’s life and in one’s energy field, the more

Page 17: By Lawrence Wilson, MD 2

by Lawrence Wilson, MD

http://www.drlwilson.com/ARTICLES/TRAUMA%20RELEASE.htm[27/10/2013 9:16:10 p.m.]

difficult it is to process traumas of all kinds. This is a simple, but very critical concept in

trauma release. It is not about the amount of energyin the body, but the quality of a person’s energy andperhaps the direction of energy flow in the body. Aschaos is reduced, the body’s ability to function inmany ways is enhanced.

Items in a person’s life that can be controlledfairly easily that can drastically increase or reducechaos include:

Ø The diet – types, amounts and proportions of various

foods.Ø The drinking water amount and type.Ø Imbalances in the mineral levels and ratios (controlled

with several nutritional supplements).Ø The oxidation rate.Ø Vitamin deficiencies or excesses.Ø Sleep deprivation.Ø Upward-moving energy.Ø Allowing the body to become cold or overheated.Ø Exercise and activity - too much or too little.Ø Physical inflammation in the body and/or mind. This

can often easily be controlled with simple dietarychanges and nutritional supplements.

Ø Other. These might include regulating drug use andsmoking cigarettes, stopping upsetting activities, changing harmful relationships and more.

Ø Avoidance of chaos-enhancing factors of all types suchas medical drugs, many herbs and nutritionalsupplements, and unhealthy lifestyle factors such aslack of rest, and others.

Understanding chaos reduction helps one

understand why imposing a healthful diet and lifestylecan be critical or at least very helpful to actually undotraumas of all kinds, and why nutritional balancingscience emphasizes them so much.

Page 18: By Lawrence Wilson, MD 2

by Lawrence Wilson, MD

http://www.drlwilson.com/ARTICLES/TRAUMA%20RELEASE.htm[27/10/2013 9:16:10 p.m.]

Some of the items above can be controlledpermanently through simple lifestyle and dietarychanges. Others, such as inflammation, require moretime to remove toxic metals, notably the ‘amigos’(toxic oxides and other forms of iron, manganese, copper, chromium, selenium, aluminum, boron, vanadium and molybdenum). This takes longer, butalso has profound effects upon chaos and overallhealth in the body and the mind. Anti-oxidanttherapy will not work nearly as well, and makes thebody too yin, whereas removing the oxidantcompounds is more profound and makes the bodymuch more yang, as explained below.

5. MAKING THE BODY MORE YANG GREATLY

ASSISTS AND ALLOWS RETRACING ANDRELEASE OF TRAUMAS. This is an ancient Taoistand Chinese medical concept. It has to do withphysics, and how warm or cold, contracted orexpanded, centripetal or centrifugal are the energeticsof the body. Almost all bodies today are much tooyin, and most people are born this way today. This isdue to radiation toxicity, a toxic environment withcontaminated air, water and food, a nutritionallydepleted food supply, electromagnetic stress, andother factors. For more on this, read Yin And YangHealing and Yin Disease on this website.

Therefore, nutritional balancing places greatemphasis upon making the body more yang using:

Ø Mainly the diet – animal protein daily, red meat

several times weekly and even daily for a while, cooked and not raw food except for a little raw dairyproducts, and avoiding the nightshade vegetables(white potatoes, all tomatoes, all peppers, eggplant),avoiding all fruits, all fruit juices, and all sugars.

Ø The type and amounts of nutritional supplementsØ The lifestyle recommendations

Ø The amount and type of drinking water (reverseosmosis and alkaline waters are too yin, for example),

Ø Enhancing the oxidation rate and the Na/K ratio, whichare directly related to yin and yang.

Ø Even learning how to think and feel in ways that aremore yang, instead of yin. For example, victimthinking of any kind is extremely yin, whilesovereignty is more yang.

Ø Use of saunas, which are extreme yang, coffeeenemas which tend to be yang, and avoidance ofmost other detoxification and healing methods such aschelation, hormones, drugs and others that are moreyin, in general.

This is another subtle aspect of nutritional

balancing, but one that we find is absolutely criticalfor overall health and particularly for trauma release.

6. REMOVING SPECIFIC TOXIC METALS AND

TOXIC CHEMICALS AT THE DEEPEST LEVELS CANFREE THE BRAIN AND BODY FROM PARTICULARFEELINGS AND BLOCKS TO HEALING.

An excess of certain toxic metals and some toxicchemicals in the nervous system not only disrupts itsfunctioning. They actually create or sustain specificbodily feelings, sensations, ideas, and attitudes.

For instance, copper is associated with fear andemotionalism. Iron is more associated specificallywith rage and anger. Cadmium is specifically relatedto violent, aggressive behavior, while mercury is moreassociated with timidity and strangeness.

This, again, is a very subtle but important aspectof human physiology and biochemistry. It is also anamazing aspect of minerals that I call theanthropomorphic aspects of minerals.

It appears that particular minerals actually givethe body and mind precise emotional qualities thatmay be helpful or harmful. It is not quite the same as

Page 20: By Lawrence Wilson, MD 2

by Lawrence Wilson, MD

http://www.drlwilson.com/ARTICLES/TRAUMA%20RELEASE.htm[27/10/2013 9:16:10 p.m.]

toxicity. It is more about coloring or flavoring thehuman experience in precise ways that we can use toour advantage when attempting to undo traumas.

I will give a simple example. Fast oxidizers tendto be too high in iron, a mineral that gives qualities ofharness, toughness and strength. This is a good thingwhen in balance with other qualities. But in most ofthese individuals, they benefit amazingly from thequalities of copper, which is a soft, malleable metal ascompared with iron. When given enough copper, theperson literally softens, and this allows the person toconsider new options, new strategies and newapproaches to their problems.

Other minerals that harden people are cadmium, lead and arsenic. Other minerals that soften peopleare aluminum, manganese, and perhaps molybdenum.

Some minerals balance, such as zinc. Othersenergize such as selenium. Others give a detachedquality that is needed at times to process traumas, including copper. Others are very grounding such ascalcium and magnesium and zinc, and these areneeded at other times.

Some minerals will expand a person’sconsciousness, while others tend to contract a personwho is “strung out” too much. Others simply nourish, while some are suppressive of enzyme activity andmay be needed if the metabolism is overheated incertain ways.

This is an entire science of mineral therapy that islargely incorporated into all nutritional balancingtherapy. However, it can be expanded upon anddeepened, when needed. The important caution isthat one must understand the principles well, and usecare not to unbalance the entire system, which iseasy to do if one is not careful. In most cases, astandard nutritional balancing program is sufficientand definitely safer.

7. THE BRAIN IS SELF-HEALING WHENPROVIDED WITH ALL THE NUTRIENTS ANDCONDITIONS IT REQUIRES.

This is a critical principle that we observe inaction on a daily basis. However, it is not recognizedmuch in medicine, psychology or psychiatry. It needsto be. The reason it is not acknowledged, in my view,is that medical doctors and psychologists do not knowhow to properly nourish, balance, and condition thehuman brain sufficiently to allow the brain to do itsself-healing.

I will give a simple example. One can observethat small children, upon falling to the ground andscraping a knee, often will sit and cry, perhapsbecome angry and despairing, and go through a seriesof maneuvers that eventually resolves the trauma atall levels. In ten minutes or less, they have forgottenthe incident, their face turns sunny again, and theyresume their play. They are able to do this becausetheir nervous system, primarily, has the self-healingquality I am referring to here. In other words, theyare able to process the trauma and move through allstages of it to its complete resolution.

This is an example of natural trauma retracingand release. If we could all do this with all types oftrauma, we would be trauma free. However, if thesystem is overwhelmed, it literally becomes stuck inone or another stage of a trauma event, whetherphysical, emotional or other, and there the personremains, often for life. Methods described in thisarticle can help to provide the conditioning, nutrition, lack of chaos and many other conditions the nervoussystem requires so that we can all respond to traumasas the young child above does.

Problems restoring the brain’s self-healingabilities. The main reason that medical andpsychiatric professions are not able to induce moreself-healing of the nervous system and brain is that

Page 22: By Lawrence Wilson, MD 2

the organ is extremely delicate, usually extremelytoxic and depleted of certain nutrients, hard todiagnose imbalances accurately, and difficult tocontrol in many people.

Nutritional balancing science can help, using verysimple but powerful methods to reduce stress, basically, reduce chaos, reduce deficiency states, andenhance energy on many levels from the cells up tothe systemic level. Such simple changes as a veryhealthful diet, a balanced and restful and prayerfullifestyle, the correct type and amount of drinkingwater, targeted and restrained supplementation, andespecially moving energy downward out of the headarea, are thus helpful in the extreme to reconditionthe brain and rehabilitate it sufficiently for its self-healing abillity to engage.

8. AUTONOMIC NERVOUS SYSTEM

CORRECTION IS ALSO VITAL FOR TRAUMARELEASE IN MANY CASES. This may includereducing fight-or-flight activity, although it caninclude enhancing the fight-or-flight response whenneeded. It also includes getting rid of a condition Icall sympathetic dominance. It can also include justrelaxing the system, renourishng this autonomicsystem, removing toxins from the autonomic centersof the body, releasing nerve pressure throughchiropractic or osteopathic manipulation, resting thesystem, releasing blocked energy using foot and handreflexology or other methods, balancing the systemusing deep breathing, perhaps, which connects thevoluntary and the autonomic system, and similar andvery simple means.

These quite basic changes are often very helpfulto reduce stress and chaos, enhance cellular andsystem energy production and facilitate the kind offlexible, yet strong healing response we seek. Fordetails, read Healing The Autonomic Nervous System.

9. TRAUMA ALWAYS MOVES ENERGY

UPWARD IN THE BODY, FROM THE FEETTOWARD THE HEAD. HEALING TRAUMA ALWAYSREQUIRES REVERSING THIS, MOVING A SUBTLEENERGY FLOW DOWNWARDS, FROM THE HEADTOWARD THE FEET.

This is a very subtle, at times, but a veryimportant aspect of healing all ailments, particularlytraumas. For more on this important subject, readDownward Motion And Healing.

OTHER ASPECTS OF TRAUMA RELEASE

1. CORRECT THE STRUCTURE. Traumas lodge

in the body structure. Correcting the structure withtherapies such as chiropractic and intense body worksuch as Rolfing of structural integration can oftendislodge or break through some types of traumas.

2. LIGHT THERAPY. Certain light frequencies

found in the near infrared lamp saunas appear toassist with trauma release. I do not know exactlywhich frequencies are needed, but the near infrared“heat lamps” that are used in near infrared lampsaunas are definitely helpful for some or even manytraumatized people.

Other sauna effects, such as sweating and drivingthe blood out of the internal organs and toward theperiphery of the body, also seem to be extremelyhelpful. This may be why the Native Americans andmany other groups around the world have usedvarious forms of hot air and hot water bathing torelease traumas and blockages in the body.

3. CENTERING AND GROUNDING ARE VERY

HELPFUL FOR TRAUMA RELEASE. In nutritionalbalancing, this is done with specific foods,

Page 24: By Lawrence Wilson, MD 2

supplements, sauna therapy, coffee enemas and theuse of only the Roy Masters meditation exercise. Also, see the article entitled Healing The AutonomicNervous System.

Grounding. Grounding has to do with the

location in the body of one’s “chi” or subtle energy. Ifa person’s energy is mainly in the head or even theheart area, the person’s center of gravity and perhapsperceptual ability is compromised. Grounding theenergy by moving it downward to the stomach areaenhances relaxation and better perception, and doeseven more than this.

Grounding may also have to do with the directionof energy flow or movement within and around thebody. Grounding is moving energy downward, always from the head toward the feet, even whenlying down. Most people have energy moving upward, and ALL TRAUMA MOVES ENERGY UPWARD. Toreverse trauma energy must be reversed and flowdownward, even if it must be done by force at first tohelp a person get used to the new feeling of movingenergy downward. The Roy Masters meditationpractice, but not others, is most helpful for this andother trauma release benefits.

Grounding also has to do with contact with theearth in some cases. Walking barefoot, gardening, putting one’s hands in water, and walking, forexample, and even avoiding living and working highup in skyscrapers, can be most helpful in some cases. Electrical means can sometimes help, and one canlearn about this from websites that deal withearthing. Just type this word into your searchengine and they will appear.

Centering. Centering is also important for

trauma release and is somewhat different than simplegrounding. Centering has to do with the ability to

Page 25: By Lawrence Wilson, MD 2

focus or have the center of your being clear, andinside the self, rather than have your focus outside ofyourself, which is sometimes called being “strungout”. This is the situation with all who aretraumatized to any significant degree.

Ways one can be uncentered are: 1. The focus can be single, but outside the body

or even off to one side. This is often called a fixationor neurosis.

2. The focus can be all over the place, varying attimes. This is often called “strung out”.

3. The focus can move in circles, for example, orsome other systematic or random pattern, causingwhat usually amounts to a psychosis or floatingneurosis and anxiety condition.

4. The focus of thinking can literally be comingfrom another frequency or dimension of reality. Thisis definite psychosis and schizoid, yet it is extremelycommon. Basically, the consciousness is split off toavoid pain of the trauma. However, this means theperson is not operating in this reality and so the diet, lifestyle, thinking and ability to heal the mind andbody are seriously impaired, even if the person wishesvery badly to heal. This is the most common situationafter a person has been traumatized, in fact.

These are ways that people who are traumatized

in any way often literally “leave the body” to a degreebecause the body is no longer a comfortable place tolive. Grounding and centering have to do withrehabilitating the body, reducing chaos in the body-mind, and forcing the consciousness back into thebody even if it is uncomfortable, at times.

Forcing the consciousness back into the

body, even when it is uncomfortable. This is asecret of some trauma release. This is, at times,

Page 26: By Lawrence Wilson, MD 2

by Lawrence Wilson, MD

http://www.drlwilson.com/ARTICLES/TRAUMA%20RELEASE.htm[27/10/2013 9:16:10 p.m.]

really the only way a person can truly handle orprocess his or her traumas and molestation from thepast. Otherwise, the person is not in reality, drifting, with free-floating anxiety and fear, and not really ableto assess, evaluate, and reprocess anything verymuch.

This is one of the primary reasons why centeringis so critical for trauma release, and why the RoyMasters exercise is helpful in the extreme, if one cando it. It will not feel comfortable because it forcesone back into the body. This must be understood andtolerated, and possibly even enjoyed – like a purgingpain, as Mr. Masters calls it. It is the pain of reality,or the pain of true awareness. It is a pain that heals.

Does the person need to know all about his

or her traumas to heal with these methods? Theanswer is absolutely not. The systems or energeticmethod of trauma release does not depend uponsitting and talking about one’s father, mother, abusivebrother or sister, etc. The latter are aspects of theanalytic methods of trauma release. Instead, theenergetic or systems approach depends uponactivating the self-healing power of the centralnervous system to a high degree.

KEY FEATURES OF THE ENERGETIC OR SYSTEMSAPPROACH TO TRAUMA RELEASE

Based upon the principles above, some key

features of the energetic and balancing approach, which can be used in conjunction with some talkingtherapy, include:

1. One must focus continually on increasing

adaptive energy or vitality in the body/mindsystem. The best way I know to do this is with anutritional balancing program that is further adapted

Page 27: By Lawrence Wilson, MD 2

by Lawrence Wilson, MD

http://www.drlwilson.com/ARTICLES/TRAUMA%20RELEASE.htm[27/10/2013 9:16:10 p.m.]

for trauma release. The main way this is done is toincrease the doses of the products somewhat.

Other modifications. Also, beware that kelp,Endo-dren, selenium, and at times Limcomin, iron, and even Megapan and Thyro-complex will bring upanger and other negative emotions even faster andmay need to be reduced for a while. Increasing ordecreasing these products can control and vary thespeed and intensity of healing of traumas.

2. Trauma buffers. As part of a nutritional

balancing program, certain nutritional supplementsseem to function as trauma buffers. These nutrientsreduce the intensity of the feelings that come up asone heals the trauma.

These nutrients are calcium, magnesium, andzinc, primarily. Another, in a few cases, is L-taurineand a product called ICMN (inositol, choline, methionine and niacinamide). These tend to “put a lidon things”, and help keep a person more relaxed andin control of the trauma release process. This is onlytrue, however, when these products are combinedproperly in conjunction with a properly performed hairmineral test and a complete nutritional balancingprogram.

3. One must continue to reduce stress,

chaos and blockages of all types – nutritional, structural, biological such as infections, toxicand others.

4. One need not force issues to surface, in

most cases. Instead, it is much safer and easier tojust follow the nutritional balancing program. In somecases, the program must be continuously modified alittle bit for the best results. However, do not deviateby taking other products that are not recommended,as there are important reasons why only certain

Page 28: By Lawrence Wilson, MD 2

http://www.drlwilson.com/ARTICLES/TRAUMA%20RELEASE.htm[27/10/2013 9:16:10 p.m.]

products and techniques are used. The reasons for this are explained in other

articles on this website such as Raw Foods, FermentedFoods, Vegetarian Diets, Yoga And Its Problems, articles about specific products, and articles such asDetoxification Protocols.

5. The client does not have to know about

the source of his or her problems, an indeed, usually cannot know all the details. Traumas areprocessed nevertheless. One may suddenly recall theincident, but at times, this does not occur and onesimply wakes up one day and feels much freer.

6. Healing reactions, purification reactions,

or vigorous systems responses occur. One mustbe prepared for these and handle them correctly. Seebelow for details about them.

7. The therapist or healer or doctor is not as

in control. For example, change can occur veryquickly, or months may go by with no apparent shiftsbecause a part of the brain or even the body needshealing first.

8. Success depends on a multi-modality

approach to literally break vicious cycles inmany places at once. This approach almost alwaysrequires a more healthful diet, more sleep and rest, the proper nutritional supplements, sauna therapy, coffee enemas, meditation, perhaps chiropractic andfoot reflexology, and maybe more, in the propercombination to break certain stressors and patternsquickly and safely and efficiently.

9. Issues and traumas will surface in their

own order, and in their own time frame. This, bythe way, is often upsetting and difficult for the doctors

Page 29: By Lawrence Wilson, MD 2

by Lawrence Wilson, MD

http://www.drlwilson.com/ARTICLES/TRAUMA%20RELEASE.htm[27/10/2013 9:16:10 p.m.]

and therapists. Surprises will arise as the body andbrain unwind layers of trauma. These will catch alldoctors and therapists off guard, at times. Forexample, a trauma that no one knew about maysurface, with vigorous symptoms. Doctors andpatients must learn how to use their “tool box” tomitigate the symptoms, and to “roll with thepunches”. Knowing how to use chiropractic, footreflexology, simple changes in the supplements, andmore rest usually suffice in almost all cases.

10. One must learn consciously to trust the

process of the energetic and balancingapproach. This can be difficult for some doctors, counselors, nutritionists, and other healthprofessionals who are trained in the diagnose-and-treat, more linear approach to healing.

With the energetic approach of nutritionalbalancing, we work with the whole body system. Thesystem then begins to unwind and heal in unusualways that are really quite amazing, but somewhatunpredictable. Repeat hair mineral analyses andconsultation about how to alter the programs is oftenimperative to facilitate the process and to keep itperfectly safe. This is a new type of understanding, and is another reason nutritional balancing is notmore popular, I believe.

OTHER TOPICS RELATED TO ENERGETICTRAUMA RELEASE - HEALING REACTIONS INTRAUMA RELEASE

A common feature of the energetic method of

trauma release is what are called healing reactions. These may also be called purification reactions, healing crises, reversals, retracings, exacerbations, aggravations or flare-ups. I willuse these terms interchangeably, and they are used

Page 30: By Lawrence Wilson, MD 2

by Lawrence Wilson, MD

http://www.drlwilson.com/ARTICLES/TRAUMA%20RELEASE.htm[27/10/2013 9:16:10 p.m.]

by other authors to generally mean the exact samething.

When these occur, issues and trauma surface bythemselves as the brain does its self-healing. Themajor issues may not surface for a while. Instead, others may need to be resolved first. Sometimes atotally unknown condition or trauma will arise, andmay be the most critical, but was so heinous or buriedthat the person had no access to it previously. Atother times, the worst incident may evaporate easilywhen a chemical is removed from the body usingnutritional balancing, and no other therapy ordiscussion is required at all. The regular occurrenceof healing reactions of this type is one differencebetween the analytical, and the energetic andbalancing methods.

Bursting the bubbles – a type of healing

response to be aware of. As the energy buildsinside the person, at times, something pops andsymptoms can be severe. However, it is not a“disease”, which is how it can be often looked upon. It is, in fact, a systems response that just looks likea serious problem.

Understood as a systems response, all that isusually needed is to rebalance the system and theproblem goes away quickly. We encounter these inthe physical human system and they will occur whenunwinding traumas by this method as well. Physiciansmust be aware of them, or they will take the wrongactions and make things worse, or simply not be veryeffective at moving the client along his or her path ofdeep healing. The presence of discarnate entities is commonafter trauma, especially sexual molestation, and evenmore so after a rape. This is important to understandbecause it complicates healing, and may even be amajor cause of physical or emotional symptoms, andproblems resolving the trauma.

I find that nutritional balancing is helpful forentity removal. Reasons for this may include:

1. Raising the energy level.2. Removing toxic metals.3. Making the body more yang.4. Renourishing the body.5. Specific balancing of the vital mineral ratios. To read much more about entity attachment and

removal, read Soul Attachment And Removal on thiswebsite.
