New York Yankees Quiz

Growing up in New York – my Dad and I ventured to Yankee Stadium a fair amount in the 70’s and 80’sand even into the ‘90’s and ‘00’s. Every game it seemed was very special as either an event, game or nongame related would occur that years later would be memorable.

I can remember getting a wooden bat on bat day and by luck I got one with Reggie Jacksons name on it. Ihad that bat well into my 20’s until it got lost during one of my moves.

When I was in third grade – my Dad and I along with my best friend at the time – sat through a 16 inninggame which the Yankees won. We got home at 3:00a.m. as I recall which was insane.

I remember being at Yankee playoff games in 1978 and 1981. I saw my boyhood hero Reggie Jacksonplay. Also, I saw the greats of that era play – Thurman Munson, Dave Winfield, Ron Guidry, Tommy Johnand Goose Gossage amongst others.

I recall sitting along the third base line in 1981 and watching Willie Randolph try and turn a double into atriple – he was called out at third at what at the time seemed to be a very close play. The guy sittingbehind us confirmed the out on his mini-T.V. which was real cool considering it was the early 80’s.

Cold nights in October and eating pizza on the street before the game – it was by far the best of timesfor a young Yankee fan in the late 70’s and early 80’s.

Thus, this quiz book is written with the 70’s and 80’s in mind.
