6 I notice that Minerva Louise is shivering. She must be really cold.

7 I notice that Minerva Louise’s friends have on warm clothes. I wonder if she is going to begin searching for some warm clothes to wear so she can stay outside and play.

9 I’m thinking Minerva Louise is confused, she does not understand, and is mistaking the garden hose for a scarf. (point to garden hose) A garden hose is used for water.

10 Minerva Louise thinks the gloves are for her feet! She’s all mixed up and confused! I notice that chickens have different feet than we do and I think she thought the gloves looked like shoes for her feet.

12 I’m thinking that Minerva Louise is confused again! She wants to use the flower pot (point to) for a hat but does not know it’s really used for growing plants.

13 Here she wants to use the boot (point to) for a hat but it is too heavy. I don’t think Minerva knows this is a boot…she is confused.

14 Minerva is still searching for some warm clothes that she does not see all of the warm clothes hanging on the hooks on the wall above where she is standing.

15 Minerva thinks that the snow which has fallen and piled up on top of things are fluffy white hats.

19 Minerva thinks that she finally found a hat to wear, but it is not two hats. She found two mittens (explain what mittens are) connected with a string. I do not think Minerva knows that those are mittens.

21 Minerva Louise finally discovers some mittens that she can use for warm clothes. She figures out how to wear the mittens as a hat by wearing one on her head and the

16 Minerva Louise notices the hat that the snowman is wearing. She is thinking that is exactly what she needs to stay warm and wondering where the snowman found his hat.

19 I’m thinking Minerva Louise is confused at first because she can’t figure out how to wear the “hat,” and why there is a string attached. Minerva knows that this item fits, so she is determined to figure out how to wear the mittens.

8-14 Minerva Louise searched for warm clothing but she kept getting confused while she was searching. She thought a water hose, gloves, flower pot, and boot would help.

She felt frustrated and disappointed when she could not find something warm to wear, but she was determined and kept searching even though she wasn’t having any luck.

16-17 Minerva Louise wants to find a hat to wear because she sees her friend the snowman wearing a hat and thinks that will keep her warm.
