What is a beaver?

Don't know what a beaver is? Well let's find out! One of the things that

you should know about a beaver is that they are part of the mammal group............like you! Beavers are also rodents. A beaver has all

different kinds of brown fur on their body. It can even be light brown fur. Isn’t that cool?

Where do beavers live? Many kinds of beavers can be found in different places

around the world. They can be doing many different things, too. Beavers can be found scattered around the U.S.A.

They can also be found swimming and doing other things in Canada. Beavers can live in Northern Europe too. Now

you have learned something new.

Beavers habitat/homeLet's get a real close look at what beavers' houses are like.

Beavers live in homes called lodges which are made in ponds, marshes, or rivers. Their lodges are made out of

mud. They are also made out of sticks and bark all smooshed together. Kind of gross but in a way that’s really

cool..don't you think so?

What do beavers eat?Beavers eat mostly plants or stuff that grows naturally.

Beavers eat old dried up leaves. They also eat bark off of trees. Lastly beavers eat roots from the bottom of plants

and trees. I wouldn't eat that if I were you.

What eats beavers? This is going to be really gross. Wolves would attack and

chew up beavers.......EEEEWWWW!!!! Cougars is another animal that likes to eat beavers. The last one is big

gigantic black bears! Well...it sounds good to the wolves, but me...NO way.

How are beavers adapted to their environment?

Beavers mostly adapt by using a lake or water of some type. Beavers adapt to their environment by building their lodges in the water. They also adapt by swimming in lakes

or ponds. Lastly they adapt to heir environment by slapping their tail on the water so they can communicate to each other. So now you know how beavers are adapted to

their environment.

I am so excited to tell you fun facts. They are really awesome. A interesting fact is that beavers are the

second largest rodent in the world. Another interesting fact is that beavers enter their home from an

underwater tunnel. Guess what? Beavers can hold their breathe for fifteen minutes while their swimming underwater of course. Wow! Beavers can do a lot of

cool actions!
