Introductionto Yearbook Questions

Yearbook questions are cool for any type of yearbook.

The youngest ones can leave adorable messages to their teacher or tell everyone about their favorite food, friends or pet. Primary school students can answer teachers’ questions about what they’ve learnt during the year. Leavers can leave encouraging or funny messages to the future year 12 students. Higher degree students can share their contact details or even talk about their future projects. Teachers can tell a little

more about their hobbies and personalities, and so on. Well, there are tons of ideas that you could use for your yearbook. The only thing you need to keep in mind is that your yearbook will be opened once in a while for the next 50 years. So try to pick questions that give an overview of what life was like in your school in that particular year.

Yearbook surveys have been popular for ages. They consist of asking a series of short questions to students, teachers or staff about their opinions, hobbies, personal projects or

school memories. Generally used to create profile pages, it’s a perfect occasion – and the last one – for everyone to speak

to the whole school community. There’s no better way to bring your students’ personality to life on the page!

If you prefer to keep it simple, we recommend you have between 4 and 6 students per page. Ask them informative questions about their school memories as well as their personal ambitions for what’s next. It’s a simple way to avoid too much fantasy in the answers and makes sure your profile pages won’t need too much editing at the end...

Presenting only one student per page can be great if you’d like your students to express themselves more deeply. In this case, you can ask them for multiple photos to illustrate their favorite school or life moments. You can ask them multiple questions to guide their responses, or alternatively give them free reign with a longer answer with titles such as “All About Me” or “My Story”.

Most memorable experience at KHS?

Being the lead in this year's Romeo and

Juliet. It was amazing being able to perform

for the whole school! My parents were so

proud of me.

What will you miss most after graduation?

I will miss so many things here at KHS! First

of all, I will definitely miss all my friends who

are going overseas for school. I will also miss

being a part of the drama club. Late night

rehearsals were stressful at times but always

worth the effort.

Where will you be 10 years from now?

Hopefully I will be a famous actress by then.

I would love to star in a Hollywood movie!

Any advice for the younger batches?

Always give your best effort at everything you

do! It may be difficult at first but just continue

doing so and eventually it will come naturally

to you.

You can start from any of the templates that are available and customize them your way. But please keep in mind that the content you want your students to provide will have an impact on page layout. HOW mANY qUESTIONS SHOUld I ASK?

After calculating how many profiles you’d like to display per page, you can see how many questions you can ask each person. More space allows for freedom in their responses.

To ensure the space is being used well, think of questions that would get interesting and unique answers. Try asking a handful of people these questions, and compare their answers. Ideally, each student’s response would be unique andhave different answers for each question. If there is any overlap, revise your profile questions.

dESIGN TIP

NOTE: Address your questions to a small group of students. It’s a great way to check if your questions are relevant and if their answers are interesting.
