Deforestation Only you can Stop itWhats Causing Deforestation? Loggers cut down trees for money. Loggers chop trees for space for cities, farmland and illegal roads. This is resulting in deforestation. Deforestation is the loss of forests.

Major ProblemThere are so many countries that are struggling with deforestation in their main rainforests. Deforestation can cause many problems, such as the loss of habitat and food for animals.

Deforestation is a problem so major; there are even laws about it, such as you cant log in certain places without permission, but apparently people havent been listening.

The Effect of DeforestationBecause of deforestation, 0.2 billions acres of trees are dying every 5 years.

The green part is the ONLY rainforest left in South America. When you think about it, thats TINY!

4The Loss of Oxygen Can you imagine dying of suffocation? The loss of trees is contributing to less oxygen. Oxygen is essential for life, so without oxygen, we could suffocate.

You can do Something to Prevent Deforestation The land area of Earth is about 25% of the planet. Now take 30% of that 25% and thats the forest area. You can increase that to 35% by gathering a group of people and just plant trees. Maybe even involve an organization also.

FOREST AREAIn 1980, there were 5.5 billion acres of forest. In 1995, there were less than 5 billion acres of trees.72 acres of trees were cut down or burned per minute! Each year, areas as big as Panama are cut down.

SummaryOnly YOU can stop deforestationDont be an illegal logger you could go to jail72 acres of trees are cut down or burned every MINUTE!30% of 25% of the Earth is forest areaEach year, areas as big as Panama are cut down
