Introduction
This project describes the Endocrine system, the parts and function .
Also it describes diseases from the endocrine system.
What is the Endocrine System?
The Endocrine System consists of groups of organs and tissues that release chemical messages into the bloodstream.
• The endocrine system is similar to the nervous system because it sends messages to the body.
Endocrine System Nervous System
Send messages to the body
Send messages to the body
Messages are send slower and take longer time
Messages are send fast and take less time
Messages are send to more cells
Messages are send to less cells
What is a Hormone?
The endocrine system has endocrine glands.
The endocrine glands secrete chemical molecules called hormones.
Hormones are chemicals produced by an endocrine glands in one part of an organism and travels to another.
Function of the endocrine system
Hormones tell the tissues and organs what to do.
The mayor role of the endocrine system is to control the metabolism.
Metabolism is the process by which the body gets energy from food.
Endocrine Gland and their Hormones
Hormones move to other parts of the body by bloodstreams.
Hormones may affect the function of some organs because of sending specific cells called target cells.
Once it finds it’s target cell, it binds to a receptor protein and deliver chemical message.
Endocrine Glands
The endocrine glands are: Pituitary Glands Parathyroid gland Thyroid gland Hypothalamus gland Adrenal glands, Thymus gland Pancreas gland Ovaries gland in females and testes in male
Each one releases signals or substances to make the body change .

Homeostasis
Gland help maintain homeostasis by releasing hormones in response to stimuli.
Hormones change the function of other tissues and organ. In the regulates internal conditions.
Organisms can maintain homeostasis using negative feedback system
Negative Feedback System
Negative feedback system is a control system where the effect of a hormone inhibits further release of a hormone.
The endocrine system use feedback and controls the hormones that glands release.
Positive Feedback System
The negative system maintains homeostasis the positive feedback system doesn't.
The positive feedback system causes
more hormones to be released.
The body uses fewer positive feedback systems than negative feedback systems.
One example of a positive feedback system is when giving birth, labor begins with the release of oxytocin.
Oxytocin cause contraction, contraction cause more oxytocin to release.
Diseases
If the are problems with one or more gland in the endocrine system, the organs does not function well.
Diseases in the endocrine system can develop when either too much or too little of a hormone is produces.
One disease of the endocrine system is the diabetes. It happens when the body does not produce enough insulin.
Insulin help to lower the glucose in blood.
Thyroid disease
The thyroid disease causes the development of the hypothyroidism.
Person with this may feel tired and cold, dry skin and gain extra weight.
People with hypothyroidism can be treated with a thyroid replacement hormone.
