Intro

Waking up, he was greeted by darkness. He felt around; trying to find anything that can help him, if he knew how, escape. Elijah… My name is Elijah. At least I remember everything. At least he thought did. It was cold and only a streak of sunlight streaming through the jailed window, along with the bottom of the closed door, was the only way he could see. Elijah only had one thing on his mind: Where on Earth am I? Soon, he heard slow footsteps coming towards him. He quickly dropped to the cold, damp ground and pretended to sleep. The person “woke him” by lightly kicking his ribs. Elijah pretended to be unconscious and the man stopped. The man suddenly splashed a liquid on him, making Elijah shiver. Now forced to be awake, he opened his eyes and was greeted by bright, green eyes.

Elijah dashed out the room and followed the flickering lights. “Wait! Come back!” The man yelled. He took many turns and turns and he had ended up trapped. He heard the man, once again, get closer and closer until he finally sees the man’s face. The man shook his hand out, attempting a warm greeting to the frightened boy.”Relax; I’m here to help you. I’m Michael.” Elijah hesitantly shook the hand. After this, he got straight to the point and bombarded Michael with questions. “Where am I? Why am I here? Where’s my family?” “Elijah….. Your family didn’t make it. I am terribly sorry. That’s all I can say for now, but you must come with me.”

Elijah was surprisingly calm. He was silent and let the man speak, ”My name is Michael. I know you’re wondering why you’re here, but I promise you, you will find out soon. For now, you must come with me.”

Elijah reluctantly walked with the man, him trailing behind Michael. Soon enough, they arrive upon a big door. Michael pushed the door open, revealing a large dining hall with what seemed like the rest of Elijah’s relatives. He was quickly ushered to the front table and sat near his uncle Luke, the youngest member of all his uncles and aunts. His uncle stood up and hugged him, almost as if he was saying he was sorry for Elijah’s loss. “Your family didn’t deserve this and neither do you. I think we have a plan on how to get revenge….” Luke hushed in Eli’s ear. Revenge? Did someone have a vendetta against my family? Eli thought. “May I have your attention? We have lost part of the Robinsons. But Elijah was fortunate enough to be saved and has now returned to our home and will be safe here. We will discuss our plans later.”

Elijah hesitated for a moment and though What if they’re actually trying to help me? Eli didn’t want to take a chance so he just ran. Eli knew that he had no choice, but you never know. He took quick, sharp turns at the corners in an attempt to lose Michael. He got to a dead end and he knew Michael was getting closer; soon he felt a blow to his head, and felt himself drift off to unconsciousness.

“I don’t trust you,” Elijah expressed bluntly. “We’re trying to help you, can’t you understand?” Michael asked. “I know it feels like you can’t trust us, but you necessarily have a choice,” Michael trudged again. Elijah nodded, refusing to let him go anywhere. “Looks like I have no choice….” Suddenly, Elijah was knocked out by Michael’s fist colliding with his jaw and feeling his head hit the floor a little too hard. “Whoops,” Michael said, shrugging his shoulders.

At the dinner, Eli didn’t really have much of an appetite. He tried to be nice to sympathizers, but couldn’t be bothered to keep up the act. He got to thinking about how his family died, the only thing he remembered was coming down stairs in the middle of the night for a glass of water, and now he ended up with amnesia, a dead family, and strangers who mourned with him. And this happened all in a span of 2 days! After dinner, he was lead to a discrete room with hushed voices. “I’m just gonna go straight to the point, this family had a history with assassinating many people; therefore we have many vendettas from all over the world,” My other “uncle” Cole stated. “And we think we know who’s done this,” Michael stepped up from out of nowhere. “But first, you’ll have to promise you will not ever give up. Is that okay?”

Eli’s family was then transported to another room, meeting others there already. His “uncles and aunts” tried their best to explain a slightly hard concept to grasp: his parents, and his whole family, were assassins. And this made Eli think about the fact that everyone, in the same room as him, was basically a killer. And now that he thinks about it his parents killed people. Struggling to accept this, Eli ran to the window and jumped, not daring to look back.

Elijah woke up in a room with what seemed like his family members: aunts, uncles, 2nd cousins, basically the whole lot. Even his grandparents were there. “Sorry about what happened earlier. I couldn’t afford to lose you.” Michael popped up out of nowhere. Eli tried to move his hands, but when he looked down, his hands were tied. “Just another precaution. Quite a runner aren’t you?” Michael asked.

“Blood has been shed, Elijah. They want to start a war.” Murmurs of agreement filled the room. “So you can’t back out. Think about your family, and how your innocent brother and sister should have been kept from this.” Aunt Rebekah said from behind. “So…. Will you join us?”

Elijah ran and ran until he got to a cliff. Luke, Michael, and Cole had started to catch up. Eli had one choice: to jump or return with them. He pondered on this until he knew what was best for him. War and bloodshed wasn’t his forte. The boy gets squeamish at the sight of a paper cut, how was he able to take a life. But there was one life he can take: his own.

“Get the knife,” a voice whispered in his ear. He looked to his left and right, finally finding the knife. He grabbed the weapon when Michael wasn’t looking and tried to free himself. Cole glanced his way, and found the boy trying to escape. “Get him!” Cole cried. “Go on, I know you don’t want to live anymore. Just do it,” the voice whispered and he ended his life.

“Go ahead, just do it. I don’t necessarily have a reason to still be here. So go ahead. Do it,” Elijah said glumly, motioning to the knife. “Is this the right decision? I mean, you have so much waiting for you.” Michael argued. “Even if I were to live a normal, I would have no one to share any memories with. Please. Respect my decision.”

“Okay, I’ll do it. For them.” Elijah agreed. “Fantastic, we’ll start training you tomorrow. Go ahead and sleep. You have a long day ahead.” Cole, Luke, Michael bid goodnight. The next few months, Elijah would wake up exactly at the crack of dawn; do god knows what of what his trainer/cousin Ash would want him to. This meant training from 6am to 7pm every day. And it wasn’t just physical training- mental too. Torture and resistance training was crucial on Elijah’s brain. Finally, he was ready.

Choices: 3 Days Later….

“This is it, kid. Don’t mess up,” Michael taunted. Elijah forced a smile, “I won’t. I got this.” Moments before, let’s just say he had a mid-life crisis where he had suddenly re-evaluated every decision he has made in his life. Is he really ready for this? Physically, he’ll be fine. But is he ready for the emotional and psychological turmoil? How will he deal with the guilt, or worse...... Will he have any?

The Correa were, and still are, one of the most feared families in the world. Armed with death at their fingertips, they were unstoppable. Arriving near the home of the Correas, Eli, Michael, Luke, Ash, and Cole quickly silenced the guards, giving them access to the home. Sneaking in through a basement door entrance, they went to the boiler room, setting up a timed spark. They went to each room, being Grim Reapers, leading people to their deaths. Elijah got to the last room and found Nik Correa, the planner of his family’s slaughter. “Just one last time,” Elijah whispered as he took Nik’s life, ending his pain and misery.

The night before the Correa attack, Elijah packed his things silently. He snuck through the silent halls, careful of not being caught. Almost out the threshold, he took one last glance of what his home was for the last 3 months. Then he took off into the night, never being heard from ever again.
