Quality means delivering the requirements of the system to be designed. The website should have the following quality features:
An atomic database Durability Maintainability Usability Quick response time
Security Availability Harmony between the colors used on
different pages of the website
Attractive animations. Live help desk/chatting capabilities. Use more attractive and contrasting colors. Make it easy to access information visitors
are looking for. Have an A-Z listing of undergraduate and
graduate courses. Create a separate events page for the
website.
Create a newsletter page. Create a site map for EMU. Make the website compatible with monitors
of different resolutions.
WHAT IS QUALITY PLANNING? This is the process of identifying relevant
quality standards and developing a plan to ensure the project meets those standards.
WHAT IS THE QUALITY STANDARD FOR EMUWEDS?
The most important quality standard is meeting the customer requirements.
The other quality standards are listed below: User-friendliness Security Durability Maintainability Performance Quick response time
Number of errors found during development.
Number of defects reported by end-users after release/implementation.
To ensure that the website meets the requirements ,the team has to prepare a requirements checklist. The web-designer will check the requirements list after every page has been designed to see if the requirements have been met.
It is advisable to make all necessary changes (i.e changes that involves a business function or a change in ) should be done before the design phase.
Only minor changes can be done after design. For example, backgrounds and fonts.
There are five phases in a project lifecycle. The problem encountered in each phase in stated below:
INITIATION-team members couldn’t decide on the quality measures and standard for the website.
PLANNING- team members failed to efficiently practice quality perspectives as the team will develop quality control mechanisms to use throughout the project lifecycle.
EXECUTION AND CONTROL-quality control mechanisms are put into practice, giving the project team constant feedback on their performance.
CLOSURE-team documents its experiences for future organizational projects.
• Technology used in tracking and controlling quality during the project includes:
• Cost-benefit analysis which is performed using a spreadsheet software(Microsoft Excel).
• Microsoft project helps manage project quality. The enterprise edition ,infact,includes common repositories for project documents. It also helps managers pinpoint problem areas and take steps to eliminate them, ultimately resulting in improved quality.
