The app builds and reinforces multiplication skills using 5 highly interactive games that make learning times tables fun and enjoyable. Mr Sears is having great fun playing this, and he is also learning to share with the children so they can improve too! With a whole school focus on times tables this is one for the whole family to try! Apple: Yes Android: Yes Cost: £1.49 MOONSHOT FAIR Parents and children alike ‘aimed high’ and ‘reached for the stars’ when they attended our first Moonshot fair on Wednesday. They completed challenges, performed Moonshot music, asked Moonshot questions on our green screen, checked out our new Moonshot website and helped design a Moonshot school of the future. The children loved collecting stickers on their passports and shared their understanding of Moonshot thinking with the adults who visited. 100% 100% 100% 100% of visitors felt they now know more about Moonshot thinking as a result of the fair and 98% 98% 98% 98% of parents feel they know why Moonshot thinking is such an important aspect of our school. 66% 66% 66% 66% of visitors are hoping to follow us on Twitter – will you add to this? Free event. No tickets. In school time. Friday 20 March – Gardeners’ Dress Up Time in Key Stage 1. Singing workshop for Year 6. Tuesday 24 March – Year 5 have earned themselves a Mrs Allen ‘Fabulous Behaviour’ Treat – Pyjama Day! Well done! Wednesday 25 March – Governors are in the playground to hear your views. 9.15 am Spring Bonnet Parade in the Hall (or outside if fine) for Reception. Year 6 Has Talent – pm. KS2 girls’ football tournament @ Lindfield - pm Thursday 26 March – Teddy Bears’ Picnic for Reception – pm. Whole school Festival of Languages Performance by Warden Park. Easter Magic Assembly. FoBVPS Cake Sale – we’d love donations from Year 5 and 6 please. Y5 and Y6 boys’ football tournament @ Oathall - pm Friday 27 March – Mid-year English and Maths Achievement, Progress and Target Setting Reports out to Parents. Junior and Infant Choir Performance open to parents at 2.45 pm. Year 5 – Knights of the Round Table fabulous finish. Summer Term starts: Monday 13 April 2015. A Moonshot Fair Parent KS1 Parents joined us for a Design and Technology workshop. We had lots of fun making scarecrow heads out of paper plates and mini scarecrows with lolly sticks. The children developed their cutting and joining skills. A great time was had by all. Thank you to everyone who came along and helped. Forest School Training Thank you to Stuart Meier of FoABW for spending the afternoon training our Forest School Team in the art of coppicing. We’re looking forward to working in partnership with FoABW to help coppice our local woods along with the children. The next Parent Forum for parents with children with special educational needs or disability is on Tuesday 17 March at The Virtual Learning Centre (buiding near the farm) at Oathall Community College from 9.30 am to 12.0. Come along and hear from expert speakers and meet the team of professionals here to help. A behaviour specialist will be talking about ‘Creating routines for SEND children in the home setting.’ This event is run by ASCEND, the locality SEN Hub set up to support SEND in our area. Please help us by leaving promptly after collection. Head down to the fabulous Rec Ground! DOGS: Thank you for tying your dog up in the plaza area by the office. This has really helped children feel safer. Thank you. Please let us know if you have any concerns. Well done to Oliver Moulton for coming first in an Ink Pots writing competition. His ‘chocolate story’ won him a £10 voucher. PM BOP! As a reward for filling up the Aiming High Core Value Counter Jar, we are holding a disco for each key stage on Thursday 19 March. 1.20-2.20 pm – Key Stage 2. 2.20-3.20 pm - Key Stage 1 and Reception. Children can bring in their disco outfits and change at lunchtime. The disco and refreshments are free! Well done for all that aiming high! Great effort everyone! Well done to the sponsored Silence Group (£40.50 with more to come), the sponsored Spelling Group (£5.50), to Elisha and her friend for Loom Bands sales (£13.90) and to Reception for their biscuits (£183.24). scarecrows with lolly sticks. The children developed their cutting and joining skills. A great time was had by all. Thank you to everyone who came along and

helped.

Forest School Training

Thank you to Stuart Meier of FoABW for spending the
