Business Profile An Taoiseach Enda Kenny will be in Castlebar on Friday July 8 to launch the Mayo Advertiser's Buy Mayo campaign. The launch will incorporate free family entertainment from local award-winning traditional and rock musicians, local markets and children's entertainment from 2pm to 4.30pm. Taoiseach Kenny will officially launch the campaign at 3pm. Buy Mayo is an exciting awareness campaign encouraging Mayo consumers to shop local. The campaign will be run through the Mayo Advertiser newspaper and online through its Facebook and Twitter accounts. Buy Mayo, which was announced in the Mayo Advertiser through a double page spread on June 10, will benefit businesses, the consumer and the community. The main benefit is that it will help to keep jobs and businesses open within the county. It will instil a sense of awareness among the spending public about the absolute necessity of supporting local businesses and services. Buy Mayo will create a sense of optimism and pride within the county when people look at what great businesses, events and organisations we have on our doorstep. Businesses can feature their special offers on the Mayo Advertiser's social networking sites alerting consumers to their fantastic offers and deals by emailing [email protected] Consumers will discover unique Mayo businesses and have the opportunity to enter competitions with amazing prizes.
