Why not kick off your business education by starting your own business? At Wilkes University’s Sidhu School of Business and Leadership, you’ll dive in and launch an enterprise with your team right in the first semester. Sure, our expert faculty will engage you in lively lectures that delve into core business mechanics and theories. But the Sidhu School is unique among its peers at other universities because our faculty take you beyond the classroom to create experiences that hone strategic thinking, emotional intelligence and leadership skills. They nurture authentic leadership and ethical business practice as they develop the “soft” skills businesses require, like teamwork, communications and analysis.

HANDS-ON LEARNINGAt the heart of the Sidhu experience is the Personal and Professional Development series, which engages small student cohorts in a four-year process of discovery and development. You’ll explore knowledge, values, learning styles and competencies as you lead by doing.
Wilkes graduates can hit the ground running, thanks to an infusion of resume-building activities. All Sidhu students take part in an internship or research project. They land internships with corporations such as Ameriprise Financial, Pepperjam Internet Marketing, Pfizer, Morgan Stanley, Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Commerce, and Berkshire Hathaway GUARD Insurance Company, among others.
Extend learning beyond the classroom and grow your network by joining one of the numerous business-focused clubs, which include: Enactus, Investment Club, Phi Beta Lambda, Entrepreneurship Club, Marketing Club and the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program. Study abroad—whether for a week, a summer or a semester—is also encouraged.
Our alumni network mentoring program pairs you with a professional who shares your business interests and can give you advice and guidance—and maybe a lead on your first job.
The Sidhu School is supported by three of the university’s centers of excellence: the Allan P. Kirby Center for Free Enterprise and Entrepreneurship, the Family Business Alliance and the Small Business Development Center.
