• ISO 14001 Certification
The International Standards Organization (ISO) establishes performance objectives and environmental management systems to prevent pollution, ensure compliance with regulations and achieve continual improvement. In 1995, Sharp began the process of acquiring ISO environmental management system certification for its production facilities. And in 2004 the process was completed, with all Sharp Corporation plants worldwide now ISO 14001 certified. Further, Sharp introduced in 2002 its own Environmental Management System which adds for all its plants an 49 additional control points to supplement those specified by ISO standards.

Sharp’s goal is to minimize the environmental impact of our products by continually implementing and improving product technologies, designs and programs aimed at environmental conservation, from the materials used in the manufacture and packaging of our products, to their transportation, use and safe disposal at the end of their product life. more info >>

Recycling
Consistent with our vision to contribute to the world through environment and health conscious business, focusing on energy-saving and energy-creating products, Sharp Electronics strives to conduct our business operations in an environmentally conscious manner. We support the industry call for a unified, national program to address the recycling of end-of-life electronics products in the United States. We are committed to making our products easier to recycle, and we continue to work toward that goal.
The handling of end-of-life electronic products is best addressed through cooperative and collaborative efforts. As an example, every year since its inception in 2003, Sharp has received the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's "Plug-in to eCycling" Award for participating in and contributing to collection events for discarded electronics. Since the Plug-in to eCycling program's inception, Sharp has supported more than 650 Plug-in events that collected and recycled 15.4 million pounds of electronics. In 2007 alone, over 100 Sharp supported events collected and recycled 2.25 million pounds of electronics.
In January 2008, Sharp, in partnership with Panasonic and Toshiba, announced the formation of Electronics Manufacturers Recycling Management Company (MRM) in the United States to efficiently manage collection and recycling programs. During its first year of operation in Minnesota, MRM has collected and processed 11 million pounds of end-of-life electronics products, making it the largest program in the state.
In February 2008, we expanded our national Copier Toner Recycling Program, which enables business and government customers to recycle used Sharp-branded copier, printer and multifunctional peripheral (MFP) toner cartridges sold in the United States at no cost.
Sharp is proud to have been recognized for our commitment to environmentally-friendly practices and business operations. Our core business philosophy is to aim for mutual prosperity with stakeholders by contributing to the culture, benefits, and welfare of people throughout the world, and thus, reducing our impact on the environment is as important to us as improving the scope of our technology.

Electronic Manufacturers Recycling Management CompanyThis newly formed joint-venture between Sharp Electronics Corporation, Panasonic Corporation of North America and Toshiba America Consumer Products is designed to manage collection and recycling programs in the United States for electronics manufacturers and others, including state and local governments. MRM’s first activities are focused on providing cost effective services to manufacturers who must satisfy the recently enacted requirements in Minnesota for the recycling of used electronic products. more info >>
ENERGY STAR® Qualified Products ENERGY STAR® is a voluntary Environmental Protection Agency program to promote energy efficient products. ENERGY STAR® qualified models are those with advanced technologies which use 10-50% less energy than the standard products in their categories. Sharp manufactures ENERGY STAR® qualified models in a wide range of products, including televisions, computers, copiers, printers, monitors, facsimiles, air conditioners and air purifiers. Many of these models employ specially designed and patented technology developed by Sharp expressly for reducing their energy usage without sacrificing the reliability and features customers expect.
Plug-In to E-Cycling ProgramThe U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s “Plug-In to eCycling” program is a voluntary partnership created to reduce the environmental impact of electronic products during their production, use and disposal, The EPA partners with electronics manufacturers, retailers, recyclers and government agencies to collect and safely recycle used equipment such as cell phones, computers and audio and video equipment. Sharp has actively participated in the program since its inception in 2003, and has been recognized by the EPA for its performance in this program every year from 2003 to the present.
Energy Efficient Product Transportation Sharp was one of the first members of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s SmartWaysm Transport Partnership program. This voluntary alliance establishes incentives for fuel efficiency improvements and reductions in greenhouse gas emissions through creating partnerships, reducing unnecessary engine idling, and increasing the efficiency and use of rail and intermodal operations. The EPA recognized Sharp’s legacy of environmental

Habitat for Humanity
Sharp employees volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and helped build homes throughout the United States.
Sharp Player of the Month
Sharp combines sports and community giving with programs such as the Sharp Player of the Month. Sharp donates product to a charity/community organization selected by the leading player each month during the professional hockey, basketball and baseball seasons.

We have a long, rich heritage of imaginative products that improve people's lives. In 1915, our founder invented the "Ever-Sharp Pencil," a mechanical pencil from which the Sharp Corporation takes its name. Sharp has long lived up to this name with such innovations as the world's first electronic calculator, the first microwave oven turntable, and the mass production of solar cells way back in 1963.
Today, Sharp's ever-evolving product line includes revolutionary multi-function business products, renewable energy-creating solar panels, and a full range of beautiful, energy-saving AQUOS® LCD TVs. We also continue to explore other innovative products and technologies that promise major advances in our ability to conserve energy both at home and in the workplace.
In fact, we're just as passionate about the environment as we are about our products. Sharp's LCD plants in Kamayama, Japan are impressive examples of environmental conservation, including one of the world's largest roof-mounted solar electricity systems. And we're currently building a 21st century manufacturing complex in Sakai, Japan for both LCD TVs and thin-film solar cells. A model of efficiency for all other manufacturers, the Sakai plant features the factories of key component suppliers and its own solar power generating system, all integrated into same location.

BLI, the leading global provider of intelligence on document imaging products, bestows “Pick of the Year” awards semiannually to products that demonstrate superior performance in their respective categories. BLI tests each product rigorously in critical performance areas, including reliability, copy and print image quality, copy and print productivity and efficiency, ease of use and economy.
The Sharp MFPs each underwent a 500,000-impression durability test with exemplary results, producing 1 million pages, with just one misfeed between them. The products were also selected for their wide range of performance areas, including highly automated setup procedures, easy-to-use administrative utilities, superior scan capabilities, and very good print quality. In addition to performance, the products were honored for outstanding value and good overall productivity.

The Sharp MX-M850/M950 MFPs combine reliability, durability and enhanced performance, offering impressive print and copier speeds of 85 and 95 PPM and are controlled by a larger color LCD display for ease of operation and viewing. These large production MFPs support the innovative Sharp OSA development platform for seamless integration with network applications, as well as Sharp’s award-winning* security suite. The innovative Sharp OSA development platform opens the door to a broad array of value-added functionality and flexibility to deliver the power of customization to the customer. Sharp OSA technology leverages the inherent interoperability of Web services design to enable Sharp, its dealer network and ISV partners to meet customer needs effectively.
The models can complete jobs quickly using Sharp’s Scan2™ technology that minimizes paper handling while maximizing performance and providing faster scan speeds. To keep print and copy jobs processing efficiently, these networked MFPs have the highest on-line paper capacities in their class – up to 8,050 sheets – and a 250-sheet document feeder.

with two new WXGA model introductions (PG-D3750W and PG-F255W), a 4000 ASNI Lumen XGA model (PG-D4010X), and an entry into the short-throw market with a new model designed for classroom and conference room applications (PG-F267X). These projector introductions, developed for corporate and education markets, all feature DLP® BrilliantColor™ technology, designed to provide enhanced colors, enriched images and exceptionally high reliability.
“Sharp’s goal is to provide our customers with the appropriate presentation tool that best meets their particular needs,” said Dan Wynne, senior director of marketing, Professional Display Division, Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America. “These new
affordable models provide features for our customers that rely on precise image reproduction for captivating presentations, including enhanced color and HD compatibility, as well as Wide XGA resolution. We’re also introducing our first short-throw projector for reliable presentations in smaller classrooms or boardrooms.”
PG-D4010X and PG-D3750WThe new DLP BrilliantColor PG-D4010X and PG-D3750W projectors are among the highest brightness single-lamp DLP projectors currently on the market. They feature high brightness of 4000 and 3700 ANSI Lumens respectively and 2200:1 contrast ratio for a clear picture in virtually any lighting condition. For a true 16:10 widescreen presentation, the PG-D3750W
offers Wide XGA (WXGA) resolution (1280 x 800), and the PG-D4010X provides XGA native resolution (1024x768), for clear and accurate images. Closed caption capability is also built-in. The BrilliantColor projectors feature the DLP sealed system, which prevents dust, dirt and smoke from entering core parts of the optics. A slide lens cover also protects against dust and prevents the lens from being scratched. The projectors need no filter and less maintenance, resulting in lower cost of ownership and longer use. A low power “eco” mode extends the projectors’ lamp life up to approximately 3000 hours and reduces fan noise (30dB) for quiet, economical operation. The projectors also offer theft prevention measures, including “key code
activation” to prevent unauthorized operation and the availability of an ultra-heavy-duty security cable kit for use with Sharp ceiling-mounting systems. These models offer HDTV/DTV compatibility for use with current and future video technologies as well as extensive connectivity. The PG-D4010X includes a DVI-I analog/digital source with HDCP compliance while the PG-D3750W includes an HDMI connection with CEC function for seamless control of HD video equipment connected via the HDMI terminal. Both models provide RGB and component inputs, S-video, composite video and stereo audio (15 watts per channel), as well as an RS-232C port, a USB input for mouse control and a RJ-45 LAN connection for
remote control and access by a Web browser for diagnostics and automatic e-mail of product status.
PG-F255WThe currently shipping PG-F255W projector is an entry-level widescreen DLP BrilliantColor model -- an ideal offering for corporate, educational and home/office applications. The projector can display full 720p from HD sources and pixel perfect 1280 x 800 (16:10 aspect ratio) WXGA resolution from the newest generation PCs. The 2500 ANSI Lumens projector employs ultra-quiet cooling fans to reduce distracting fan noise to an almost unnoticeable level. DLP projector owners also enjoy a lower cost of ownership and longer projector lifespan thanks to the filter-free DLP sealed system that prevents dust, dirt and
smoke from entering core parts of the optics. For ease of use, the on-screen guide and “help” function ensures simple setup and operation, and an advanced picture mode pre-sets the projector to recall preferred settings for multiple users automatically; a built-in closed caption decoder with black and white text enhances legibility. A wireless remote includes full wireless mouse control when a USB cable is connected between the projector and a PC or when used with the optional AN-MR2 Remote IR Receiver. The remote also includes a built-in spotlight function and an on-screen pointer to help during presentations. The 6.4 pound projector affords a wide array of inputs, including standard analog RGB/component and
audio/video input terminals, as well as a DVI-I analog/digital source with HDCP compliance which provides secure, virtually noise-free digital connection; RGB loop-through output, RS-232C and USB for mouse control. The PG-F255W also has a built-in network connection with an RJ-45 LAN Connector for remote control and access by a Web browser for diagnostics and automatic e-mail of product status.
PG-F267XThe PG-F267X DLP BrilliantColor projector represents Sharp’s first foray into the short-throw market, achieving a 100-inch diagonal image from a distance of just 4.3 feet to maximize a meeting space. With XGA native resolution and high brightness of 2500 ANSI
Lumens, this projector produces a clear picture in almost any lighting condition. At just 6.5 pounds, the projector can be easily ceiling mounted or carried from classroom to classroom or boardroom to conference room. Ideal for the education market, the PG-F267X offers an RJ-45 LAN network connection with security monitoring that can send an email to the administrator’s PC in the event that the LAN connection breaks. The unit also includes a closed caption function and a graphical user interface (GUI) pointer for classroom use. The projector offers extensive connectivity, including standard analog RGB/component and audio/video input terminals, as well as a DVI-I analog/digital source with
HDCP compliance which provides secure, virtually noise-free digital connection.
BrilliantColor Technology for Expanded Color PaletteAll four projectors feature DLP BrilliantColor technology for superior color accuracy, creating truer, more vibrant colors. BrilliantColor can enable up to a fifty percent increase in mid tones and expands the color palette beyond red/green/blue to include yellow, white, magenta and cyan for more realistic and lifelike color reproduction.
The projectors are backed by a two-year parts and labor limited warranty including two years of Sharp industry-leading 24-hour turnaround “ER” Express Repair support. The warranty on the user-replaceable projection lamp is 90 days.
