Accounting 101Fundamentals of AccountingThis course is an introduction to the basic concepts and standards underlying financial accounting systems that are required in any enterprise for both future managers and entrepreneurs. It aims to inculcate an understanding of capital and revenue expenditure and receipts. It further discusses techniques of stock valuation and departmental accounting. Progressing from the single entry system, it emphasizes the preparation of the basic financial accounting statements such as income statement and the balance sheet, as well as their interpretation. It logically progresses from methods of bookkeeping to computerized accounting.

Finance 101Principles of FinanceThis course covers the foundations of finance with an underlying emphasis on applications that are essential for corporate managers as well as entrepreneurs. The learners will get an insight into the various elements of the financial system- Capital Markets, Financial Markets, Foreign Exchange and Securities Market. This will enable them to comprehend, analyse and interpret basic financial statements and understand their limitations. Further, the course will introduce students to various financial concepts such as Mutual Funds, Bonds and Insurance that are fundamental to financial markets

Entrepreneurship 101Introduction to EntrepreneurshipThis course is designed to equip learners with the tools and skills necessary to develop ideas to lead and manage entrepreneurial activities. Moreover, it explores methods of developing, managing and sustaining innovative practices in various enterprises through entrepreneurial thinking. Students will develop skills to facilitate identification of gaps and idea generation for establishing innovative business ventures. The course also discusses the underlying processes of technological innovations guided by entrepreneurial leadership in a knowledge-based economy.

Seminar sessions will be held once a week for consolidating the concepts of the following courses:• Society and Public Policy • Environmental Management• Corporate Communication • Business Development & ManagementSeminars provide students with a forum to discuss assigned readings, raise questions and engage in healthy debates to clarify and consolidate course concepts.

Marketing 101 Introduction to MarketingThere is a lot more to a market beyond an arrangement for the interaction between buyers and sellers. It is a highly competitive and democratic arena where customers have a range of choices of goods and services. Businesses are responsible for catering to the demands of the consumer in a market-driven economy. Through this course, learners will develop an understanding of the complex and interdependent nature of the global marketplace and the technological know-how instrumental for managing a market-driven business.

Economics 101Micro EconomicsThis course is an introduction to economic analysis, with particular application to decision-making in business. The core components are demand analysis, revenue analysis, theories of production and cost, market structure as well as failures. Using case studies, the course provides students with a platform to analyse the e�ects of policy on the broader economic environment in which business decisions must be made.

Management 101Principles of ManagementManagement is an art and a science of assisting people in achieving their goals collaboratively. This course will enable students to understand the dynamic nature of management. It explains the importance of management and helps them understand the role of a manager. It introduces them to management processes and their basic functions of Planning, Organizing and Employee Motivation. It also acquaints the students with the classical and behavioural management perspectives, which explore the evolution of the discipline over a period of time. The course is ultimately aimed at equipping students with the skills and training for managing organizational change and innovation in their future careers.

Mathematics 101Quantitative TechniquesMathematics and Statistics are an integral part of business operations. This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the application of mathematical concepts in the context of business including methods of calculating commission, brokerage, discount, partnership, interest, annuity, etc. along with the concepts of shares and mutual funds. Further, the introductory course to Statistics covers measures of central tendency, probability theory, decision theory, etc.

Community OutreachThe Community Outreach course gives students the opportunity to get involved in community service on a regular basis, with several projects to choose from during the semester. Projects are student-led and are o�ered by a variety of non-profit agencies, NGOs or are a part of CSR initiatives. Projects may be in the areas of health and human services, language and literacy and youth development or education for children and adolescents. Students are required to opt for and sign up for ANY ONE project.

Work ImmersionThis course is designed to transform students into being work-ready and encourages them to take ownership of their work, as would be expected of them in the real world. It uses a unique, participant-centered experiential model researched as a project at Harvard Business School to develop 21st century skills like e�ective communication, problem-solving, lateral thinking etc. which empower Gen Z to be innovation-ready.

Research, Academic Integrity & RigourAt ISME we believe in creating learning cultures that support honest research and academic practices that go beyond the quality of work to the moral fiber of each of the students. This course will help students to establish their understanding of research language, ethics and approaches. Students will critically review relevant literature and determine how research findings are useful in forming their understanding of social, local and global environments.

21st Century SkillsIn todays dynamic business enviornment, it is esential for students to acquire 21st Century Skills and training to become globally competitive. This course is oriented towards creating value through the 21 st century skills of Critical Thinking, Creative Problem-Solving, Communication and Collaboration. While critical thinking is instrumental for devising creative solutions, communication and collaboration are essential skills for connecting with the globalized world.

Rural ImmersionGrassroutesGrassroutes is committed to sensitising our budding managers and entrepreneurs to the challenges faced and opportunities available in rural areas. Rural Immersion Programs are a mandatory component for all students of the BME.

Global ImmersionDICE Trip to UK / USAThe Global Immersion trip inspires students to understand the language of global business, learn first-hand about new cultures, engage with complex interconnected international issues and become empowered world citizens.

Shadowing an EntrepreneurBME PracticumThis is a 2-week practicum split into a week each of field research and data collating & reporting. This assignment is designed to provide students with an opportunity to gain an insight into the entrepreneurial mindset and develop entrepreneurial attitudes. It will aid students in transitioning from education to the world of work. Students will be required to submit a 1200-word written report or 7-10 minute Documentary Film Report covering aspects such as entrepreneurial beginnings, business models, triumphs, challenges and the way forward, along with a 300-word reflective statement.

ElectivesDesign, Innovation, Creativity and Enterprise (DICE) constitute the keystone of education at ISME. The DICE Electives give students the opportunity to look beyond their own subject area and broaden their perspective with interdisciplinary electives. Students are required to opt for any 2 electives from a choice of 36 multi-faceted courses o�ered jointly by the 3 Schools – ISDI, ISDI | WPP and ISME. (Details Overleaf)

ISME ClubsISME clubs will provide a wide variety of opportunities that enrich the experience of student life as well as introduce the new age student led organisations. Club STAGE, will encourage the interest for drama, theatre and music amongst students, a hardcore bibliophile will be a part of Club WORD and young dynamic entrepreneurs will be all for Club FUTUREPRENEURS. Other clubs include AGILE for Sports and Fitness, FINTEREST for the finance enthusiasts, ENACTUS which promotes entrepreneurial action, ISME Inc. for corporate connect, RC ISME the Rotaract Club and a club for parent volunteers too - PARENTHESIS!. These are the dynamic clubs that are a part of the ISME culture. The fun and lively Club life at ISME will help students learn valuable character traits such as pride, productivity, teamwork and organisation.
