The University of Porto is the largest university in the country interms of R&D, being responsible for 25% of the country’s scientificoutput and has one of the largest patent portfolios in Portugal.In recent years the university has invested in innovation andentrepreneurship as focus areas, namely through its Science andTechnology Park, UPTEC! UPTEC is currently supporting morethan 180 corporate and entrepreneurial projects. Since thebeginning of its activity, in 2007, UPTEC has supported more than600 business ideas and has created more than 2800 highly skilledjobs.
