Harold R. White was born at South English, Iowa, May 27, 1889, son of 1V. and Ida Ann Roach White.

Mr. White married Jessie Roop on May 12. 1910, and to this union was two children, one boy and one girl.

Mr. White served as cashier at White State Bank until 1921, moved to r Savings Bank where he worked seven years, and joined the First

& l'nion Savings Bank in 1928, retiring in 1946. He also served as . bank director. He was a director of the REC from 1946 to 1964 and was

partner i1: the Harwood Angus Farm, north of Sigourney. Mr. White was Mayor of Sigourney from January, 1954, to December 31, 1955. He was mocrat and served as State Representative for one term in the Fifty­

General Assembly.

On .June 22, 1922, at Muscatine, Iowa, he wa united in marriat!e to Anna Beik, and to this union was born a daughter. 8

He was a life res1dent of the Grandview com­munity and was active in GraJH.l\'iew Community Church, serving as Sunday school superintendent for 27 years. (·hairman of Louisa County Farm Bureau, member of Grandview Cooperative Telephone Company, County AgTicultural Stabilization and Conservation Committee. Aside from being a retired farmer, he was director of the Columbus Junction Bank and a salesman for the Pioneer Seed Corn Company.

2\lr. Wier passed away .January 12, 1911, at Muscatine General Hospital, }ltlscatine, Iowa. Services were held at Grandview Community Church, with burial at Grandview Cemetery, Grandview, Iowa. Surviving are his wife, Anna; one daughter, Mrs. H. Richard Bieri, Letts, Iowa; two broth­ers, Georg-e of Museatine and James of ·waterloo, and two grandchildren.

He was employed as cashier at the White State Bank there until 1921, when he moved to the Webster savings Bank, where he spent seven years. In 1928 he came to Sigourney and was associated with First Trust and Union Savings Bank, retiring in 1946. He was presently serving as a director of the bank. In ;the early 1950's he served as State Representative from Keokuk Co for one term. He was mayor of Sigourney from Jan, 1954 through Dec 1955, and served as director ofR. E. C. from 1946 to 1964. He was a partner with his son in the Harwood Angus Farms north of Sigourney. Mr. White attended the United Methodist Church in Sigourney."
