Burwood Beach Coastcare Burwood Beach Coastcare is a community group conducting hands on environmental restoration and ecological monitoring work, along the spectacular coastal strip of Glenrock State Conservation Area. We have some great people involved in the group, with a wealth of professional experience in the fields of ecology, bush regeneration, and marine conservation. We work along side Trees in Newcastle who provide tools, transport, and training. Other organisations that regularly support our work include National Parks and Wildlife Service, Surfrider Foundation – Hunter Region, and Awabakal Local Aboriginal Land Council. It’s a great opportunity to hang out at the beach, do some rewarding work, and learn about how we can protect one of our greatest assets. We meet on the last Saturday of the month, at 9am in the car park above Merewether Ocean Baths before heading down to Burwood Beach. For more information on what we do, and how to get involved, check out our Facebook page, or contact Trees in Newcastle on 4969 1500 www.facebook.com/burwoodbeachcoastcare Are you interested in: - Environmental Conservation? - Native Plant Identification? - Coastal Restoration? - Community Activism?
