International Volleyball to return to Langley in 2013

The 2013 Men’s North, Central American and Caribbean Volleyball Continental Championship

will be played at the Langley Events Centre. The announcement was given this saturday in a press

conference with the presence of the Township of Langley Mayor, Jack Froese; Volleyball Canada

President, Hugh Wong; the President of Volleyball British Columbia, Chris Densmore, and the

Director of Business Development of the Langley Events Centre, Jared Harman. Members of the

Norceca Control Committe also attended to the conference that took place at the same venue

that is hosting Men’s U23 Pan American Cup. The tournament will be played in september and

will also be the first International volleyball event ever held in British Columbia with the

participation of the national teams of Canadá (18 in Men’s World Ranking), Cuba (6), Dominican

Republic (45), Mexico (23), Puerto Rico (21), USA (5) and two or three other teams from Central

America and the Caribbean region.

Brazil to play for gold after beating Mexico 3-0

Brazil qualified to the Men’s U23 Pan Am Cup after defeating Mexico 3-0 (25-16, 25-16, 25-

13).Joao Ferreira finished with 13 points for Brazil and Carlos Eduardo Barreto with 12., while

Kock Eder Levi registered five blocks. For Mexico, Mauricio Lopez was the best scorer with 11

units.

Argentina book a second ticket to a South American Classic

Argentina became the second finalist of Men’s U23 Pan American Cup after beating Canada 26-

24, 25-15, 25 23 and will play for the gold against Brazil this sunday. Gonzalo Lapera scored 21

for Argentina and Luciano Zorneta 10 (with three blocks), while Bradley Kufske finished with 16

for Canada, that will look for the Bronze medal.

Finals are ready for this sunday

The duel for third and fourth places will be played this saturday at 3:00 PM with the match

between Dominican Republic and Canada while the finals will be played between Brazil and

Argentina at 5:00 PM.

Voleibol Internacional regresará a Langley en 2013

El campeonato continental varonil categoría mayor de la Confederación Norte, Centroamericana

y del Caribe de Voleibol que se desarrollará en 2013 tendrá como sede el Langley Events Centre,

de esta ciudad. El anuncio se llevó a cabo este sábado en conferencia de prensa con la presencia

del Alcalde de la Ciudad de Langley, Jack Froese; el Presidente de la Federación Canadiense de

Voleibol, Hugh Wong; el titular de la Asociación Regional de Voleibol de British Columbia, Chris

Densmore y el director de desarrollo de negocios del Langley Events Centre, Jared Harman.

También asistieron los miembros del comité de control del torneo a la conferencia que tuvo

lugar en la cancha del mismo escenario que por ahora figura como sede de la Copa

Panamericana Sub 23. El campeonato se desarrollará en septiembre y será el primer evento

internacional desarrollado en la región de British Columbia por primera vez en su historia,

contando con la participación de los equipos de Canadá (18 en el ranking mundial varonil),

Estados Unidos (5), Cuba (6), Puerto Rico (21), México (23), República Dominicana (45) y de dos a

tres equipos más del área de Centroamérica y el Caribe.

Brasil, luchará por el oro tras derrotar a México 3-0

Brasil clasificó a la final de la Copa Panamericana Sub 23, tras derrotar a México por marcador de

3-0 (25-16, 25-16, 25-13). Joao Ferreira finalizó con 13 puntos para Brasil y Carlos Eduardo

Barreto con 12, mientras que Kock Eder Levi registró cinco bloqueos. Por México, Mauricio

López fue el mejor anotador con 11 unidades.

Argentina reserva boleto a final con sabor a clásico sudamericano

Argentina se convirtió en el segundo finalista de la Copa Panamericana Varonil Sub 23, tras

derrotar a Canada 26-24, 25-15 y 25 23 y jugará por el oro en contra de Brasil este domingo.

Gonzalo Lapera anotó 21 puntos para Argentina y Luciano Zorneta 10 (con tres bloqueos),

mientras que Bradley Kufske terminó con 16 for Canada, que buscará la medalla de bronce.

La disputa por el tercer y cuarto lugar tendrá lugar este domingo con el partido entre República

Dominicana y Canadá a las 3:00 de la tarde. La final será entre Brasil y Argentina a las 5:00 de la

tarde.
