“…whoever does not take up his cross and follow
after me is not worthy of me.” - Matthew 10:38
Pope Benedict XVI said “The world offers you
comfort. But you were not made for comfort, you
were made for greatness”. “Comfort” puts me
first. “Picking up your cross and following Jesus”
puts God and others first. Why settle for comfort
when you can achieve greatness! Pick up your
cross, ask Jesus for guidance on using your gifts
and live the life God intended for you! -----------------------------------------------------------------

The Archdiocese of Regina Lay Formation ProgramShare the Joy of the Gospel!“I’m more conscious that God is around me all the time. To know that He is everywhere with every person has helped me to step out of my comfort zone. Everyone has their little quirks and I see those as gifts or their own personal freedom of being who they are.” - Beckey Franke, St. John the Baptist Parish, EstevanOne weekend a month from October to June, Catholics just like you are gathering at Campion College in Regina as they become more deeply aware of God’s personal love and activity in their lives. Why not make their story, your story? We are currently accepting applications for the Fall intake of this three-year program. Stewardship Bulletin Bits for JulyJuly 2 - 13th Sunday in Ordinary Time“…whoever does not take up his cross and follow after me is not worthy of me.” - Matthew 10:38Pope Benedict XVI said “The world offers you comfort. But you were not made for comfort, you were made for greatness”. “Comfort” puts me first. “Picking up your cross and following Jesus” puts God and others first. Why settle for comfort when you can achieve greatness! Pick up your cross, ask Jesus for guidance on using your gifts and live the life God intended for you! July 9, 2017 - 14th Sunday in Ordinary Time“For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.” - Matthew11:30When we think of being good stewards, we may think that God is asking too much of us when He calls us to generously share our time, talent and treasure. However, we must remember that we are not “owners” of anything, we are merely “stewards” of the gifts God has given us. All He is asking is that we give back a small portion of what He has already given to us.July 16, 2017 - 15th Sunday in Ordinary Time“The seed sown among thorns is the one who hears the word but then the cares of the world and the lure of riches choke the word and it bears no fruit.” - Matthew 13:22Does the lure of riches and material goods choke God out of your life? Are you so caught up in worldly activities that you have no time for God? Stewardship is a lifestyle to be lived every day. It effects all the decisions we make. What we receive at Mass every Sunday should be shared with others all the other days of the week.July 23, 2017 - 16th Sunday in Ordinary Time“The kingdom of heaven may be likened to a man who sowed good seed in his field…He who sows good seed is the Son of Man, the field is the world, the good seed the children of the kingdom.” - Matthew 13:24, 37-38As children of God, we are all “good seeds,” blessed by Go d with the potential to accomplish much good in the world. We fulfill God’s plan when we share our talents and our financial gifts to help build God’s kingdom on earth. Through our stewardship we sow “good seeds” on earth to ultimately help each other get to Heaven!July 30, 2017 - 17th Sunday in Ordinary Time“We know that all things work for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.” - Romans 8:28Do you really trust God? Do you believe that all things work for good? Faith is a challenge for everyone at times. Putting our trust in God, in everything we do, means that God’s plan for our lives may be different than our plan. When one door closes, another one opens. Trust in God, His plan is always better.

SANTOS FAMILY FUNDRAISER UPDATEOn Thursday a cold plate lunch benefit for the Santos family was held by members of the churches in Moosomin to assist with legal fees to fight their upcoming deportation. During the benefit lunch the family received word that they were granted work visas for 2 more years. Later that afternoon they received an e-mail saying that the deportation order had been cancelled and they were free to start working towards landed immigrant status. We are so very thankful. The way the community turned out to help was overwhelming. Over 400 people came to the lunch. $4000 was raised by lunch tickets and $7000 was given in donations, bringing the funds raised to $11,000.00. This will go toward helping them pay their legal fees. Thisbenefit was spearheaded by Catholic and Anglican churches, but the whole community helped. All of our prayers along with community involvement have brought wonderful results, thank you all for your prayers.
