Today’s Message
Bear One Another
As we continue in the One Another series today, we getto look at the topic of what it means to "bear with oneanother.” When I think of this term to “bear with”someone I oftentimes do not have the biblical point ofview in mind. And although there are times that I wishthat I could be like Elijah in 2 Kings 2:24, when he calleddown bears from the forest to deal with people he washaving problems with, I don't think that is what thispassage has in mind.
Oftentimes as Christians we are taught that this idea ofbearing with someone is similar to the phrase "grin andbear it.” This expresses the idea that there is someoneor something that we have to deal with that we don'tlike, so we put on a fake smile and just deal with it. Butthis passage today calls us to a higher standard whenwe are dealing with people God has brought into ourlives. Let’s look into God's word to see where we arebeing challenged to change.
CrossBridge Church exists to
Bring glory to God by
Making Gospel disciples and
Sharing the love of Christ with our community and our world.
