Jesus Comforts His Disciples

14 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God[a]; believe also in me. 2 My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. 4 You know the way to the place where I am going.”

5 Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?”6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7 If you really know me, you will know[b] my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”8 Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.”9 Jesus answered: “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10 Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you I do not speak on my own authority. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work. 11 Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the works themselves. 12 Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. 13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.

This first Friday, May 2nd there will be Night vigil from 9:30pm – 6am followed by Holy mass. We will be blessed to have Fr. Paul Chalisserry (Procurator). There will be English prayer done separately from10 PM -12AM.

ObituaryAnnamma Abraham Olikkara (Chinnamma-age 90) W/o Late. Pappachan Olikkara and the mother of our parish member Mr. James and Annie Olikkara had passed away in Kerala on Saturday, April 26 at 5.00 pm left behind three daughters and three sons. Please keep the deceased and the family in your prayers. The Funeral will be taken place in St. Antony's Forane Church,Kurumpanadam.

• This Sunday is generally known as “PuthuNjayar” (New Sunday). It is on this occasion St Thomas the Apostle touched the wounds of Jesus and proclaimed “My God and My Lord”. • Today we celebrate the feast of newly pronounced Saints St John XXIII and John Paul II. • Also we remember the Divine Mercy of the Lord.• CCD seniors’ graduation will take place today 9.30 am Holy Mass. On this occasion we congratulate all students who have completed the requirements for this graduation. Congratulations to all. Thank you teachers for your hard work.• There is a retreat taking place in Bishop Lane Center for students age from 15 and up by Fr Augustian Valloran V C from August 11 through 14th. This will be a good preparation for students who are preparing for College and High School. Registration is through online.• There will be a pilgrimage to Velamkanni Matha Shrine in Washington D C on May 29.• There will be a pilgrimage going to Madjugorie and Rome in September. Those who would like to join welcome.• Family Renewal convention is scheduled from June 12th through 15th 2014. There will be a special track for Youth also. Frs. Jacob Manjaly, Sebastian Arikat and Joe Pachery would be the main speakers for this convention. • Syro Malabar Cultural fest is scheduled for May 24th Saturday, Contact Academy for details. Also Card play match and Badminton match is also organized by Cultural Academy with great and attractive prizes on Saturday May 3rd. Please check with Academy for further information• Shalom T V is launching its English edition today. Please check with your TV provider. • Your spare changes please deposit in the Baby bottles given to the CCD students. Please bring those bottles today. These donations will help mothers and children of Chicago area.• The Car Raffle held at Syro Malabar Church Phoenix AZ on Easter Sunday, has won several prizes for our parishioners.
