FEZThe FEZBUILDING TOWARD A BRIGHTER FUTURE May/June 2015

How time flies! Already I am writing my third article for the FEZ.

Spring has finally arrived and, after many months of con-tinuous snow, we can now see the green grass.

I’d like to thank the Ladies of the Divan for a successful National Women’s History Month luncheon. Also, the Eas-ter Bunny returned for breakfast and an egg hunt. This event was in honor and in memory of Noble Ken Rose who chaired this event in past years. Many thanks to Chairman Oscar Stevenson and his Lady Denise for transform-ing the Ballroom into a spring holiday setting and to the Stew-ards for providing a delicious breakfast.

The Divan and their Ladies were pleased to be invited by the Daughters of the Nile to attend Queen June’s luncheon, honor-ing her successful year serving Allah Temple #28 as their Queen. It was a fun event with good

food, lively music, and lots of laughs.

This year Allah Temple #28 Daugh-ters of the Nile held their installation in LuLu Shrine Ball-room. The Divan and their Ladies attended this cere-mony and luncheon which honored 2014 Queen June and 2015 Queen

Gayle. I would like to thank the Daughters of the Nile for all their support and contributions to Shriners Hospital for Children.

My Divan and I have been attending club dinner meetings and would like to thank the club Presidents for their support. I will attend at least one Unit meeting throughout the year, and would like to thank the unit president’s for their support. Nobles, we need your input, time, talents, ideas and solutions in order to keep this philanthropy a suc-cess. Remember — it’s not what the Shrine can do for you but what you can do for our Shrine

and the children under our care.

Unfortunately our first parade of the year was rained out. But we look forward to many more as the weather warms.

LuLu Shrine’s old heating system has been repaired many times in the past and still is only 25% efficient. As you are aware, the Ballroom and Merrimac Rooms are often used for rentals and we can’t afford to have a failing heating system. In lieu of continuing to spend money on repairs the Divan voted to replace the boiler and the Trustees agreed to finance the proposed cost of $75,000.

Note: We have a new committee called Building/Property Commit-tee which consists of five Nobles who will advise us regarding any items that arise over the year.

Our Circus and Rodeo Committees, chaired by Doug and Don Fink, are working hard for another fun and prosperous year of exciting events.

My theme is “Building toward a Brighter Future”. Come out and join us for our “Fun-Raisers”. Our concern is always first and foremost focused on the children under our care.

“Shriners have promoted Fellowship; it has practiced Charity; it has provided Education; it has nurtured Brotherhood; it has been founded on Trusts and cardinal Virtues.” But what is a Shriner’s greatest mis-sion today? What should be the thrust of modern Shrinedom? Our success in finding the answers will impact the future of our fraternity.

Thank you for all your efforts.

Yours in the Faith, Matthew W. Hallowell 2015 Potentate, LuLu Shrine

For the Ladies of LuLu Shrine

Preparations are being made for many upcoming events at the Shrine and we Ladies can be a great help in making them a success. How? Vol-unteers are always needed at the circus, rodeo and haunted house. I remember the first time Matt and I volunteered at LuLu Shrine. It was circus time and we wandered onto the midway and asked what was needed. Next thing we knew we were selling blow-up ani-mals. We met a lot of nice people and enjoyed see-ing the children’s faces as they were handed their new toy. After that experience we were “hooked” on volunteering. We may have “made a differ-ence” for the Shrine that day but it had a greater impact of “making a difference” for each of us.

Remember the story of the little girl and the Starfish. “Making a Difference” is my theme for 2015 and I hope you will think of ways that you will “make a difference” for LuLu Shrine this year and in years to come. Besides volunteering for events there are other ways you can help the Shrine. Attend the functions but also think of friends, neighbors, and relatives who might enjoy them. Who knows? When they see how much fun we have, membership may also benefit. Hand out coupons. Get posters out to neighborhood businesses/restaurants/shops. Talk about LuLu Shrine and Shriners Hospital for Children. It’s not a secret! Let friends know the good work that Shriners do.

And, if you really want to “make a difference” in your own life, visiting the hospital in Philadelphia will do it! If you have never had a tour of Shriners Hospital for Children you owe it to yourself to take part in one. I would like to make arrangements for a Shriners’ Ladies tour in the near future. Won’t you join me? All you have to do is say “yes”. My email address is [email protected]. Home phone is 215-918-0418; cell is 267-614-4542. Shriners Hospital for Children is unlike any medi-cal facility you have ever seen. It’ll make you even prouder to be a Shriner’s Lady!!

This article is a little difficult to write. As I am quite sure by now everyone knows that we lost our longest tenured member of the office staff. June Durr passed away in March after a relatively short bout with cancer. Sometimes it seemed that they built LuLu around June’s desk, since she had worked here over thirty years. June handled the membership & now Chrissy will assume that responsibility also.

When instructed we will upload the existing membership program to Imperial & will start the new program called “Web Fez”. This program will be web based & there will not be a need for a server. Every member will be able to go into the system & change his own informa-tion. One member of each club & unit, probably the secretary, will have the responsibility to keep the membership roles updated. Hopefully this will help us with keeping the new directories up to date. The new program will not take place for a while.

The Wednesday work crew is hard at work around LuLu. They are working on the new Treasurer’s office. Walls are in place, the door is hung & the room is almost complete. Some of the lights in the ballroom ceiling have been replaced. When the office is completed we will bring in a high lift & replace the remaining lights along with the stained ceiling tiles. When the weather is actually spring like we will need a lot of help getting the arena & area ready for the circus.

Last month we had an issue with the heater. It was reported by some that the heater was off for over three days. Believe me that was never the case. The last two years the heater has been getting worse with age. When I was at the Daughters of the Nile event at LuLu the heater went off twice. We had installed a sensor that would alarm the three key pads & ring mine or Rich’s phone. Then one of us would come back to reset the heater. This would occur when the temperature in the ballroom drops below 55 degrees. Luckily our Potentate issued an emergency request to the Trustees & asked for the funds to replace the heater. This was long overdue. No matter what we decide to do with the building, we will be able to move this heater upstairs & con-tinue to use it.

Speaking of the building. I am sure by now all know that at the Decem-ber Business meeting it was decided to explore the possibility of ECRI’s offer. The building search committee met but unfortunately the weather did not cooperate & it was not a full crew. We do have some very prelimi-nary sketches so far. Tony Vincent from ECRI has been working closely with the Architect & Engineers on this project but he will be away the month of April. I will keep everyone up to date with any happenings.

We have sent out our second dues notice. Thanks to all the Nobles who have paid their 2015 membership dues, however there are several of you still owing dues. Please send your check into the Shrine as soon as possible. There are currently about 275 Nobles still owing dues. Remember dues still is our largest fund raiser.

June 20th is our Ceremonial. If you know a Mason who would like to join our fraternity, please get him a petition. We are also running a bus to the Hospital. If you want to go on the tour, please let me know so we can arrange transportation.

An upcoming hospital fund-raiser should be a fun event here at LuLu. August 22nd we will be spon-soring a painting event. No not the ballroom, but a canvas & wine glass painting. All supplies will be included & best of all we will all get to see your artistic abilities. The flyer is included in this Fez issue. We’ll get to have some fun, food & best of all we will make some money for the Hospital. It would be nice if everyone would bring a bottle of wine for the wine sharing bar. Price will be $40.00 & that includes food, drink, canvas, glass, easel & paint. What more could you ask for. Maybe we will hang the best painting up in the lobby!!!

Remember if I can be of any assistance, do not hesitate to call. I’m in the book.

I would like to thank the nobility of LuLu Shrine for electing me High Priest and Prophet. I want everyone to know that I take this position very seriously and will do the best that I can do to serve you.

I have been a clown for many years, and I will always be a clown in my heart, but I want you to know that I have a serious side. You will see this serious side when I have decisions to make as a member of the Divan.

I will always strive to put LuLu and the Nobility first. I love to make people laugh and have a good time. Making other people happy makes me happy.

However, it is important for you to know that I have owned a business for over 39 years and I have good business sense. So, when you see me clowning around or wearing my funny clown shoes, please know that this is just one side of me. I will still go to the hospital to entertain the children as a clown and participate in all the parades as a clown, but I will take the office of High Priest and Prophet and the duties that go with it very seriously.

On March 4 I went to Tampa, Florida to attend sessions and learn the business side of the Shrine. I appreci-ate the opportunity to do this. I look forward to coming back and sharing my experience there with all of you.

Many of you have seen me attend-ing Shrine Club and Unit Meetings. I have always been very vis-ible around LuLu, but I intend to be even more visible in the years to come. I have tried to attend every Shrine Club dinner. I don’t see this as work, I see this as fun and a time to bond with my fellow Nobles. I urge all of you to join a Shrine Club or Unit, come to the meetings and have fun like I do.

Ill Sir’s Manny and Roy attended the Mid Winter Meet-ing of the International Shrine Horse Patrol in Houston. The new George Bush Airport is sincerely a beautiful place so we ended up staying an additional day in Houston even though in February Philly’s Airport has the tendency to close when there is too much ice.

After being told we would need to get another flight (actually the next day and 5:40 PM) we found our selves staying at a Fairfield Inn just off the Airport property and walking distance to a restau-rant that evening. The next morning it was off to the Airport and trying to grab a stand-by seat which did not work so we ate and drank the afternoon away and returned that evening. Once we finally boarded we went to the rear of the plane where our pre-boarding passes instructed us to sit and discovered that row 24 did not exist or they had changed the plane. We were then placed in row 7. I guess they wanted us to arrive first in Philadelphia since we had waited already more that a day.

For this year at Imperial we will be staying only just a block away from the George Brown Convention Center where the horses are being stabled and where competition will be held. Also this year for the first time that on Monday after-noon July 6th there will not be any Imperial Sessions so everyone can attend the various Competitions. The Parade will be on Tuesday July 7th during the evening. We will liter-ally be coming out of our stabling area and getting into the parade. This is a wonderful set up for us being so close to the stables, competition and downtown is all a first as well.

Our drill practices have already begun and as you read this article we will be out in the arena at least once a week. Since we are in Texas this year Imperial is making a big deal about the horses and LuLu’s Mounted Guard is going all out. We are planning on carrying the Temple’s Flags and may even be able to get our Potentate up on a Horse as well.

Although we planned on participating in the St. Patrick’s

Day Parade originally scheduled for March 14th once again inclement weather prohibited the entire Temple from putting on our usual show of shows.

On March 28th was to be a trail ride at Valley Forge on a beautiful day in spring while Ill Sir Manny gave

us the grand lecture of the activities and the individuals who suffered that cold winter so many years ago. Who am I kidding it was freezing cold this win-

ter and we were up to our Horse’s *!!%! in snow this past year. Anyway we had to post-pone this until April.

May this year is really a busy time at LuLu so our annual ride at Fair Hill, Maryland has

been moved up to the weekend of April 24th through the 26th. This has been an event that started as a Mid Atlantic Horse Patrol activity which we have come to own with some participation of a couple of other horse patrols. May is also the time for the Circus, so once again you will see us security after a one year sabbatical and we are making plans to be in the Memorial Day Parade as we have done for years. We have also been asked by Ill Sir Matt to have our horses available to the LuLu Family Picnic in August which has been placed on our schedule.

In our next issue I will be telling you more about a new program that we are working on in the communities where LuLu is represented. It is something unique and other Horse Patrols in the west have been doing it for a number of years.

Our May and June rides have not been finalized as of yet but Ill Sir Manny and Wild Bill have promised we will be having a great time.

So as always I always finish if you have an interest in horses, own a horse, or have ridden before our meetings are on the fourth Tuesday of every month at LuLu Temple in the Mounted Guard Room at 7:00. We hope to see you soon and again thanks for your support

Life is GiftAbout a year after I had

retired, my wife Jane 58 had a terrible spell. She was leaning over a bathroom sink vomiting blood. After many, many tests it was finally analyzed as cancer-ous nodules on her liver.

We spent two desperate years in trying to save her; when she took her last breath. I mourned and cried rivers of tears. For days I was tired, emotionally wrung out, and could not sleep.

One night in my restlessness, which prevented me to sleep; I went to my study and looked

aimlessly at some of my books. I happened upon a commentary on the book of Genesis. I leafed to the 22nd chapter where one finds the account of Abra-ham being asked by God to sacrifice his beloved and only son Isaac. The scholar writing on that account was Gerhart Von Rod, who pointed out that Isaac was the fulfillment of God’s long awaited promise and the link to Abraham’s future.

This passage had always been a great puzzlement to me. Yet to my great astonishment and subsequent delight, Von Rod pointed out that what was really happening was that God was trying to find out did Abraham remember where Isaac had come from and who Isaac really was? Did he realize that Isaac had been a gift from the very beginning, or had he made the mistake of taking something that started out as a gift and turned it into a possession? Did he remem-ber that what had been entrusted to him, temporar-ily, became for him his alone to do with whatever he wanted?

According to Von Rod, what came home to Abra-ham in that dark and difficult experience was that he was reminded that “life is gift.” Those three words, jumped off the page for me in ways that I had not ever anticipated. As I began to ponder those words I real-ized that everybody and everything we have is a gift, not a possession.

I began to look, with a new perspective, on my wrenching experience of the death of my Jane. If I had ever gotten to have been with her for even a sin-gle day it was just sheer good fortune. She was never my possession but a generous gift.

Possessions get to be taken away, but when one deals with gifts one reacts quite differently; i.e. when the gift is taken away one uses that occasion to give

thanks that it was ever given at all. In my own spiri-tual struggles, the sense that life is gift, and it coming into my life as something I didn’t deserve, gives me a perspective of hope that did not begin to take away my sadness. But what it did do was to realize that my Jane had come into my life by a grace beyond my deserving.

I decided that I would view her, and everything else in that moment, as a gift rather than a possession or entitlement, and to hold onto, in the present, with ten-der hands of joy and gratitude. When I was asked to relinquish what I held dear, I would use that occasion to give thanks for what I had been given and I never deserved.

This attitude kept me from becoming bitter and kept me from turning into someone who felt that it was some kind of terrible injustice. It opened for me a way to begin to trust that one who had given me the good old days, as one who could also give me the good new days and enable me to live more gratefully as well as more generously. Amen

“Good Friends, Good Food and a Great Time.”2015 January Installation Meeting

This is the motto of Quaker City-Montco Shrine Club. On Sunday, January 11th we celebrated the installation of our officers at KC Prime Restau-rant. While doing this important activity, our members, divan, ladies, and visitors enjoyed their good friends, Good (Outstanding) food, and a Great (Wonderful) time. To me Shriner’s is about helping others, enjoying life and all the friends I and my lady, Marilyn, have made.

This event was an extraordinary example how you can join us at Quaker City-Montco Shrine Club enjoying your life. Come to a meeting and change your life with us.

Our web page is: www.quakercityshrine.com Take a look at our events and come out and have a GOOD time.

This year seems to be a repeat of last year with the cancellation of one of our regular meeting the postponement of a Board Meet-ing and weather that froze over the Delaware River. Our newly installed President Ray Bloem-ker has had a tough time rowing up stream but we are coming out all the better. We also have a new Boat Captain Theodore Ehlke that’s right he is the President of the Breu Meisters so you might just want to join the boat crew, you never know what night be brewing down on the floor boards now.

Ted is taking his new possession very seriously. He is joining the Yacht Club and taking a Coast Guard Boat Handling Course. But like the rest of the Temple we missed the St. Patrick’s Day Parade not due to the ice in the river of the fact we were not wearing our Life Jackets but because the Parade was cancelled by it founders not us.

President Ray’s goal to increase membership seems to work. We have had new applications for LuLu’s membership as well as from Crescent Tem-ple and attendance of all our regular members has increased. Our Ladies are enjoying all our speakers and our members are talking up what we are doing in their Lodges and other Masonic Organizations. He has also announced his Goal for this years Donation to our Hospital here in Philadelphia but you will need to come to a meet-ing to hear all about that.

Our March Meeting saw us once again snowed in so it was not until our April meeting that we were being entertained by The Irish Dancers who we had for the last two years to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day Lady’s Night. This has been such a smashing success over the last couple of years that we are talking about making it an annual event that other Units and Clubs would be able to put on their cal-endars to come out and enjoy a night of entertain-ment and brotherhood.

To get ready for the St. Patrick’s Day Parade a couple of changes have been made to the Barn where we store our Float again thanks to Presi-dent Ray. In attempting to cross the Delaware our new driver Ed Neinfield had to call in the Calvary.

Ill Sir Bill Morwald once again came rid-ing to the rescue, with the Truck not started since the last Parade and all the warm weather we have had since November our batteries were dead and needed to be replaced. Thanks again Ill Sir Bill for getting the float out of the barn and getting the truck running so we could get it to the shop for repairs. So hopefully our new fearless leader will not have to stand in the front of the boat to fend off the ice as we travel across the riv-ers of parades which we participate this year.

Once again Our Blind Squire’s winter supply of nuts is now down to only a few pounds but he is still wiling to share, so if you would like to help our Float Committee selling their store of nuts please contact Ill Sir Roy L. Knauth 215-355-3796 or [email protected]. The money Our Little Gray Friend raises is to maintain and transport our float of Washington Crossing the Delaware. We still have Light Walnut Halves $9.00, Deluxe Mixed Nuts No Peanuts $10.00, Giant Slated Whole Cashews $10.00, Colossal Natural Pistachios $9.00, Whole Almonds $9.00, Homey Roasted Cashews $9.00, Turkish Apricot Halves $7.00, Fruit and Nut Mix $7.00 Dark Chocolate Cranberries $7.00, Dark Chocolate Fruit and Nut Mix $7.00 and all in one pound resalable bags. But supplies are running very low so order now.

May and June Dinner Reservation are being taken by our now Second Vice President Nate Coo-per 267-679-9137 [email protected] who will be more than happy to take all your res-ervations but please no later than Monday morn-ing prior to each month’s meeting and preferably the Friday before. We are looking forward to see-ing you there.

The History of the Shrine & LuLu (16) Chapter LXVI (66)

CIRCUS 1909 - 2014By Noble Harry Speth, Historian

LuLu sponsored its first Circus in February, 1909 when it was held inside our new Mosque at 1337 Spring Garden Street. It was titled “LuLu Society Circus”. In February 1916, the Divan and members attended “Spellman’s Gigantic Circus” in Convention Hall, Broad and Allegheny Streets. In May 1919, LuLu attended “Shrine Night at Ringling Bros. and Bar-num and Bailey Circus” at 2nd Street and Hunt-ing Park Avenue. In 1924, LuLu sponsored a Circus at “The Met” (Metropolitan Opera House) and charged $1.10 for Admission. In 1928, the Show performed “Under the Big Top” at 18th and the Park-way. No further record of the Circus appears until 1940, when LuLu hired a circus company to perform at the Met. All performances were sold out – “A great financial success.” Net profit benefitted our Shrine Hospital. This show in 1940 is recognized as “LuLu’s First Circus”.

From 1940 through 1989, LuLu has sponsored the Circus at various locations throughout the Oasis. The year 1940, is also noted as the First Annual Circus where the profit was donated to the Shrine Hospital System. Examples follow:

1948 – 1955 - The Arena, 46th & Market Streets – Hamid Morton Circus, or Polack Bros. Circus, Chair-man, Ill. Sir Herbert Graham 1954-55).

1959 – 1968 and 1971 Lighthouse Field, Front Street & Erie Avenue (Under Tent) Christiani Bros. Circus, Tickets at $1.80. Chairmen: Ill. Sir Charles Wakefield (1960), Ill. Sir Glen Renegar (1961).

1969 – Due to scheduling, Lighthouse Field was not available. Circus moved to Street Road and Richelien Avenue.

1972 – 1977 - Liberty Bell Park, Clyde Beaty – Cole Bros. Circus. Chairmen: Ill. Sirs Glen Renegar (1961) & John Kull (1970).

1978 – 1979 - Plymouth Meeting Mall, Clyde Beaty Cole Bros Circus. Chairman Ill. Sir John Kull.

1980 - Oxford Valley Mall (5 Days, Sandy Brook Players (2 Days) Exton Mall (2 Days).

1981 - FDR Park (5 Days) Cedarbrook Mall (3 Days)

1982 - Oxford Valley Mall (3 Days), Exton Mall (4 Days), Sandybrook Plaza (3 Days).

1983 - Langhorne (3 Days), Plymouth Meeting (7 Days).

1984 - Plymouth Meeting, Sandybrook and Levit-town Discount World – Total 5 Days.

1985 - Levittown (3 Days), Abington (2 Days – Easton Road South of Edgehill Road), Exton (3 Days).

1986 - Philadelphia Race Track (3 Days), Temple Stadium (2 Days), Crestmont Park (Abington 3 Days).

1987 - Willow Grove, (3 Days), Rose Tree (2 Days), Levittown (3 Days).

1988 - Plymouth Meeting (3 Days), Rose Tree Farm (3 Days), Levittown (3 Days).

NOTE: From 1978 through 1988, Clyde Beaty Cole Bros. Circus was LuLu’s Circus Vendor and Ill. Sir John Kull served as Chairman. He had numerous Co-Chairmen and Assistants, often as many as 12. Cir-cuses through 1989 were usually held in May.

1989 - This was the First use of Hanneford Circus as LuLu’s Vendor, and also the First solicitation of Cir-cus Moms and Dads for Support – Chairman Ill. Sir John Kull.

1990 – 1998 - With the completion of our new Exhi-bition Field (Arena) on our property, in Plymouth Meeting, our first Circus at this site occurred August 1990, under the Big Top. We continued to use a tent

through 1998, when it was decided to save $5,000 and chance the weather. Since then, weather has impacted attendance occasionally. When necessary, most acts were performed and over 500 children of all ages, have attended the show in our Great Hall.

During these years, Hanneford Circus contin-ued to perform during August, in LuLu’s Exhi-bition Field. Chairman through 1993 was Ill. Sir John Kull; Chairman 1994-1997 was Noble Milton Law; Chairman 1998 was Noble Bob Self, C.R.

1999 - Beginning in 1999, the Circus and the Rodeo exchanged performance months and the Circus was moved to May, Chairman 1998 Noble Roy Knauth, C.R.

2000 (59th Circus) - The Friday A.M. Show was performed in the Great Hall, due to rain. In spite of the weather, with the addition of school children, it was estimated that 750 people filled the Great Hall. All other Shows were in the Exhibition Field – Chair-man – Ill. Sir Bob Self (1999).

2001 - 2009 - For these nine years, Ill. Sir Roy Knauth (2000) served as Chairman of LuLu’s Circus. Typically, Hamid Circus performed for three days in May. Seven shows were performed in three days (Fri-day, Saturday and Sunday).

During this time frame, several significant events were attempted: Carnival Rides added (2007); Wooden Seats and floorboards and structures were replaced with aluminum (2004-2005) at a cost of $80,000 for material and $48,000 estimated LuLu labor; Major reconstruction of Midway Booths (2007).

In 2009, a new Circus Company was contracted “Circus Spectacular” and performances were in June. This year was noted as the 68th LuLu Circus. History is not clear, but it appears most likely, that no Cir-cus was performed during two years of WWII years (1942-45).

2010 (69th Circus)

Beginning this year, twin Brothers, also Nobles, took over General Chairmanship of the Circus: Nobles Douglas and Donald Fink (aka STINKY & FINKY KLOWNZ). The new Chairmen continued with “Circus Spectacular” for a three day Show, but in May. With no rain, the event was successful.

2011 – 2012 (70th & 71st Circus)

We continued with “Circus Spectacular” with seven Shows over three days in May. It rained off and on in 2011, but all shows were performed. 2012 had great weather.

2013 – 2014 (72nd & 73rd Circus)

The Chairmen were also Stinky & Finky. Venue was changed to seven Shows over four days. For both years, the Show was performed by HAMID CIRCUS. Weather for 2013 was good but 2014 had slight rain – all Shows performed outside.

In 2014, Nobles Don & Doug Fink also served as Chairmen for LuLu’s Annual Rodeo. They were able to reduce Administrative costs for both Fund Raisers.

Credit for the inception, construction and imple-mentation of our Exhibition Field (Arena) goes to many Nobles. The Leaders have included Ill. Sirs: Emanuel Iglasias (1982); Charles R. Young (1995); James Camponile (1993); Michael Kelly (2005); Wil-liam Morwald (2006) and Roy Knauth (2000)

The First Rodeo here was held in September 1989 and the First Circus here was held in August 1980. Since that first year, many improvements and addi-tion have been made to the property as noted above. LuLu members volunteer to paint, weld, re-roof and replace broken items. Then, before each event the Staff becomes very busy hanging signs, moving ticket booths, setting up tents and chairs, etc, which must come down after the show. Without many volunteers, the job would not be completed.

Also, the operation of the Circus (and Rodeo) is not a one man job. Over the years, each Chairman/Chairmen have counted on four to ten assistants as Co-Chairmen to handle some details i.e., Advertising, Ticket Sales, Vendors, Mom & Dad Tickets, Stadium Cleanup arrangements, etc. Also, we depend heavily upon LuLu members to assemble their team to oper-ate a booth on the Midway. Only with the assistance of thousands of hours of volunteer time by Nobles, Ladies and Friends has the Circus (and Rodeo) steadily improved in efficiency, smoothness and prof-itability to become a First Class Regional Circus.
