Welcome from Conference Chair

Welcome to our Building on Best Practice for Public Sector Degree Apprenticeships conference at Middlesex University, and a special thank you to our guest speakers and workshop leaders for your valuable input.

Today we aim to share with you the learning and best practice around the development and delivery of public sector apprenticeships, to help you and the organisations you work for, train the qualified, skilled workers needed to deliver essential public services. We are also launching a new report, Best Practice in Work-integrated Learning for Degree Apprenticeships, detailing outcomes from Middlesex University’s national project to develop apprenticeships for police officers, nurses, teachers and social workers. The project is being delivered by Middlesex together with public sector partners.

When teachers, police officers, social workers and nurses all achieve professional status through degree apprenticeships, the perception of the role and purpose of apprenticeships will be transformed in the eyes of the public and employers.

Middlesex currently offers: Police Constable, Registered Nurse, Nursing Associate, Healthcare Science Practitioner, Teacher, Construction Management, Chartered Manager, Digital Technology Solutions Professional, Business to Business Sales Professional and Academic Professional degree apprenticeship programmes. Other apprenticeships including Social Worker, Senior Leader and Accountancy Professional are in development and due to be launched by January 2019.

We are delighted to be working alongside all of you here today to make sure these degree apprenticeships achieve the desired impact – a qualified, professional and skilled public sector workforce that will benefit London and the country.

In this brochure you will find housekeeping information, biographies for each panel member and speaker, a conference schedule and summaries for each workshop.

We hope you find this conference valuable as a contribution to the ongoing discussion about what constitutes best practice for degree apprenticeships.

Dr Darryll BravenboerDirector of Centre for Apprenticeships and Skills,Middlesex University

Dr Darryll Bravenboer is Director of Apprenticeships and Skills at Middlesex University. His responsibilities include driving the Middlesex ‘University for Skills’ strategy at national, regional and

institutional levels. He has extensive experience of developing professional, vocational and work-based higher education in response to the needs of a wide range of employment sectors in diverse professional contexts including higher and degree apprenticeships and other areas of academic enterprise. His research interests include the philosophy and sociology of education, higher education policy, fair access, widening participation, lifelong learning and vocational, work-based and employer-responsive higher education.

Darryll is Chair of Middlesex University’s Apprenticeship Steering Group, Chair of Linking London Higher and Degree Apprenticeships Group, a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, a Trustee and Deputy Chair of the SEEC credit consortium, Board Director of University Vocational Awards Council, a member of the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education in Apprenticeships Advisory Group and a member of the Institute for Apprenticeships Provider Panel.

Finbar LillisCentre for Apprenticeships and Skills Associate,Middlesex University

Finbar Lillis has worked in different strands of education for over 30 years - in the private, public and voluntary sectors - in the UK and other countries of Europe and beyond. He trained and worked

as a teacher of English as an additional language, taught in the oil industry in the UK and in Qatar, developed and managed community and youth work projects in England, before working for Open College Networks regionally, and then nationally. He completed a Doctorate in Professional Studies at Middlesex University.

He has co-managed a successful research consultancy for 14 years, working and publishing on adult learning reform at national and international levels. In recent years, Finbar has focused on research and practical programmes to enable progression for health and social care workers in England, from the workplace into University professional programmes. He first researched ‘modern’ apprenticeships in 2004 and is currently working with Middlesex University on ways to apply best practice in work-integrated learning in degree apprenticeships.

Professor Tim Blackman Vice-Chancellor, Middlesex University

Tim joined Middlesex from The Open University where he was Acting Vice-Chancellor and previously Pro Vice-Chancellor for Research, Scholarship and Quality. From 2004 to 2011 he was Professor of Sociology and Social Policy at Durham University, where he served as Head of the School of Applied Social Sciences,

Director of the Wolfson Research Institute and Dean of the University’s campus in Stockton.

Born in Gravesend, he studied Geography at Durham University. After graduating, he volunteered with Voluntary Service Belfast and then returned to Durham to undertake a PhD. In 1982 he was appointed Lecturer in Social Policy at the University of Ulster and then in 1990 joined Newcastle City Council as Head of Research, later returning to higher education as Deputy Dean of the School of Social Sciences and Law at Oxford Brookes University and subsequently Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law at Teesside University.Tim has served on many company and charity boards, and as a UK Government advisor on neighbourhood renewal and health inequality. He was a member of the HEFCE REF 2014 Assessment Panel for Social Work and Social Policy and is a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences and Royal Society of Arts.

Nicola Turner MBEHead of Skills, Office for Students

National lead for skills strategy and policy in the higher education sector, current priorities include degree apprenticeships, industrial strategy and graduate outcomes. She produced two independent reviews into employability led by Sir Bill Wakeham (STEM) and Sir Nigel Shadbolt (Computer Science), and established the Degree

Apprenticeship Development Fund. Previously the Director of Employability Strategy at Aston University, Birmingham, for 12 years she worked as a senior manager in HE across employability, employer engagement, regional growth and social mobility. Notable contributions include increasing sandwich placement take up at Aston from 59 per cent to 75 per cent of students and enabling 4000 graduates to find their first job in local SMEs through Graduate Advantage, a sector-leading internship scheme. In 2016, Nicola received an MBE for services to graduate employability and Higher Education. She is also a Governor at Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

Greg Wade Policy Manager, Universities UK

Greg Wade is a policy manager at Universities UK leading on skills and employability and Higher Education in the Regions. This work includes the economic impact of universities, English devolution and local growth, supply and demand for graduates and degree apprenticeships. During his career at Universities UK Greg has led

policy in areas such as leadership, management and governance, teaching and learning, teacher education and better regulation. Before joining Universities UK Greg worked as a policy adviser in the predecessor to Guild HE, the Standing Conference of Principles leading on areas that included quality, estates, human resources and international issues.

Greg started his career as a quality assurance officer at the University of Surrey where for seven years he was involved in administering external examining reports, internal course validation and external accreditation as well as servicing numerous university and faculty committees and managing audit and quality assessment visits. Greg also supported the Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) submission. Greg was an audit secretary for five institutional quality audit visits.

Jane Hadfield National Programme Manager, Health Education England, Talent for Care (Apprenticeships)

Jane is a Registered Nurse, and accredited Executive Coach and Organisation Development Specialist, with broad experience in

clinical and corporate senior leadership roles in the NHS.

Jane is responsible for managing the introduction of the apprenticeship reforms; facilitating discussions and advising colleagues as to how best practice might be adopted in the definition of future processes; supporting and overseeing implementation of new apprenticeship education pathways; liaising with, and supporting Employers in the Trailblazer system; working with stakeholders (such as The Institute for Apprenticeships, Department of Health, HEE Executive team, HEE policy leads, local HEE apprenticeship leads, NHS Employers and Skills for Health), to ensure that the NHS has apprenticeship standards with are fit for use in the sector.

Jane Hanrahan Chair of the Social Worker Degree Apprenticeship Trailblazer Group

Jane has focussed her working life around supporting others to learn and develop their careers. Her first role was as a secondary school maths teacher, where she became interested in what

happened to students and their learning after they left the education system and joined the workforce. She moved to a large insurance company’s training department where her team were at the forefront of e-learning and blended learning development.

Her career then took her back into the public sector where she has undertaken a variety of workforce related roles. As a strong advocate for workplace learning, and enabling people to progress their careers, she has embraced the opportunity of using apprenticeships to meet skills shortages.

Kevyn Burns Implementation Manager, College of Policing Kevyn is the PEQF Implementation and Communications Manager at the College of Policing, and has been working on the development and implementation of higher level apprenticeships

in policing for the past 2½ years. He has previously worked for sector skills councils for 8 years, and his workforce development experience extends across a range of UK sectors with a major focus on the outdoor, policing and defence sectors. Kevyn has worked on various police-related projects since 2013, although did not ‘officially’ join the College of Policing until 2016. Although it isn’t at all obvious from his accent, Kevyn is a proud Scot whose roots originate in Glasgow. He is a big fan of rugby (the sport rather than the place, although he is sure that Rugby the place is lovely), and enjoys outdoor activities such as hillwalking and camping.

Susan Shoveller Deputy CEO, Head of School Improvement, South Farnham Educational Trust and Chair of Teacher Apprenticeship Trailblazer Group

Starting her working life in the City, Susan then raised her family before entering teaching. Her career whilst Deputy Headteacher of

South Farnham School has encompassed four outstanding Ofsted reports and many years at the head of the national league tables.

Susan has been instrumental in the achievement of many prestigious awards such as The National Training Award and the Small to Medium Business Award; also in the school’s becoming an Investors in People Champion Organisation.

In 2011 she became Director of South Farnham Teaching School, one of the first primary schools in the country to be appointed. In this role her responsibilities included the delivery of the National College licenced leadership programmes, being a member of the School Direct Reference Group and working as part of an expert panel with the DfE on assessment in the new curriculum. She is a Professional Tutor and Assessor for trainee teachers and her current role is as Deputy CEO of the South Farnham Educational Trust and its SCITT which this year is training 107 teachers. She has had extensive experience in the support and improvement of a wide range of schools moving them from Ofsted serious weaknesses judgements to Good; and this has included leadership of two schools prior to their becoming part of SFET.

Susan is Chair of the Employers’ Trailblazer Group which is currently planning the next developments in the Post-Graduate Teacher Apprenticeship.

Workshop Session 01 All run from 12:10 - 13:00

Option A: Room PA101 Employer/provider collaboration – effective learner journeys in the delivery of the police constable degree apprenticeships

This workshop will illustrate how police services and providers can work together to deliver innovative and effective learning in a method that engages apprentices, is contextualised to their role and yet manages the operational impact of ‘off-the-job’ learning. The focus will be the police constable degree apprenticeship although the examples provided will be suitable for other programmes involving employer/provider partnership working.

It will demonstrate how joined up thinking between learning suppliers and the employer can develop constables who identify opportunities to explore new ways of working and innovation in policing and apply critical thinking to identify solutions to problems in line with evidence based practice.

Option B: Room PA102Developing nursing apprenticeships within London – complexities and solutions

This session will explore the complexities of developing nursing and nursing associate apprenticeships within the London landscape. The workshop will review the challenges of the context of nursing within London, and the new roles developing alongside the apprenticeship agenda. How we at Middlesex University have approached this work with potential solutions will be considered, which may be useful for delegates within their own place of work.

Option C: Room PAG01Developing Effective Collaborative Degree Apprenticeships for Public Sector Organisations

This session seeks to support the two themes of Work-integrated ‘signature pedagogies’ and Effective employer/provider collaboration in the delivery of degree apprenticeships, by exploring how a FE/HE partnership adds value to the venture for the public sector employer.Explore how HE/FE providers need to adapt existing good practice measures to ensure multi-stakeholder values are satisfied in the design and delivery of new programmes of learning, with particular focus on the needs of the employer. The session captures that challenges that this process presents as well as providing a reflection of good practice measures that are essential in a healthy FE/HE/employer collaborative partnership, ensuring effective implementation.

Option D: Room PAG02 Working to learn – the workplace as the primary learning environment

This session will focus on how we capture the value and impact of the learning and development of knowledge as well as skills and behaviours which takes place in the workplace to inform the delivery and assessment the academic award. This session will look at how universities can design innovative delivery and assessment for their academic awards which evidence the skills and knowledge learned and developed in the workplace.It also explore an apprenticeship standard and ask participants to consider and compare different delivery and assessment models to identify methods which engage fully with the experience of the apprentice in that specific job role.

Option E: Room PAG04Graduate Apprenticeship Skills recognition, acquisition and application for the public sector

Findings from a study of first year IT apprentices in Scotland located in both public and private sectors will be presented. The study used three research methods to uncover aspirations and experiences of degree apprentices. Apprentices expressed a desire for early and relevant skills acquisition to quickly add value through application.

While the apprentices in general were motivated by well-paid careers, the public sector apprentices were keen to acquire new ‘off-the-job’ skills to contribute to their organisations. The specific challenges experienced by the public sector apprentices, in their first two trimesters, included communications between their organisations and the university and establishing appropriate mentors in the work place. However, the apprentices drew from the support of each other and the wider cohort. They also brought extensive real-world experiences, for example sharing examples of practice with on-campus students.

Workshop Session 02 All run from 15:40 - 16:20

Option F: Room PA101 Challenges and Opportunities of the Policing Education Qualifications Framework - Apprenticeships and beyond

The focus of the workshop is to consider the opportunities and challenges of the apprenticeship degree in policing (for HEI and also to the police service) and the ways by which successful deliver is able to be achieved, in not only the apprenticeship but also within the whole Policing Education Qualification Framework.

The workshop will be interactive-participant orientated and it is expected that best practices will be shared, not only in policing, but across the public sector.

Option G: Room PA102Best Practice in Delivering BSc Degree Apprenticeship to In Post Healthcare Scientists

Examples of best practice for designing, engaging and teaching Healthcare Science Apprentices in their workplace. We describe a fully interactive mixed delivery format programme, with strong cohort identity embedded using online tutorials, webinars, recorded lectures, blogs and quizzes to actively involve apprentices in their learning journey.

This workshop provides examples of best practice for design and delivery of successful L6 apprenticeship training, to enable NHS staff to upskill through formal qualification whilst in-post.

Option H: Room PAG01Practical Approach to delivering Teacher Apprenticeships

This workshop explores the journey we have taken at Middlesex University to introduce a Teacher Apprenticeship programme, as a new and additional route for graduates to secure Qualified Teacher Status and begin a teaching career. We will consider some of the challenges we have faced related to complying with different sets of regulations covering the specific requirements for Initial Teacher Training as well as apprenticeship training. We aim to untangle some of the complexities of meeting the needs of different stakeholders and demonstrate how we have arrived at the point where we will be welcoming our first Teacher Apprentices to begin their ‘off-the-job’ training on the 12th September, 2018.

Option I: Room PAG02Drawing from the Work-Based Learning toolbox to build Degree Apprenticeships for the public sector

The workshop identifies key elements of the Work-Based Learning toolkit and how these elements relate to notions of public service, diversity and public good. The key elements include reflecting on experience to identify and evidence learning, the use of learning agreements for personal and professional development, constructing a practitioner research project and the use of negotiated shell modules. Workshop participants will be asked to consider the use of these tools from the perspectives of the apprentice, public sector employer and higher education provider.

Option J: Room PAG03Lessons from new fast-track work-based routes into social work: implications for apprenticeship models

This workshop will explore learning from the development of a new and innovative fast track post graduate social work qualification developed at Middlesex University. This is a 14 month qualifying programme which is largely work-based learning and is the first such programme to be run by a University in the country. This has been a complex development process that has involved working closely with our stakeholders and partners in the North London Social Work Teaching Partnership and with our service user and carer group involve@mdx.

The challenges and opportunities experienced hold valuable lessons for the development of the joint apprenticeship degree for social work including partnership working with placement providers, working with the Health and Care Professions Council which is the professional body for the social work, working with the University’s quality assurance processes.

Option K: Room PAG04 EPA Relationship Manager – End Point Assessment: Start with the End in Mind

This EPA session will be around Chartered Management and Leadership qualifications which have been utilised by our partners in a number of public sector settings, including Local Council, NHS, MOD and Police. The workshop outlining CMI’s End Point Assessment Processes for leadership and management apprenticeship standards from Level 3 to Level 7 Senior Leaders Master Degree Apprenticeship. During the workshop we will cover the End Point Assessment Processes from Gateway to certification, to support employers and providers through the EPA journey.

David John Person BSc, MSc, Managing Director, Premier Partnership

David Pearson is Managing Director of Premier Partnership, one of the UK’s leading and fastest growing providers of Apprenticeships, with a multi award-winning team. They are the training partner of choice for employers including local authorities, central government, government agencies, the NHS, and successful

private companies.

David has an outstanding learning design and delivery pedigree having created innovative learning programmes including HS2, the Metropolitan Police, Cabinet Office, NHS Improvement and Santander.

David is also a pat-time lecturer at Leeds Metropolitan University.

Julian Parker-McLeod MSc, Director, Centre of Excellence for Policing Studies

Julian Parker-McLeod is a former Cumbria Constabulary Sergeant in Roads Policing and Learning & Development. He has an MSc Policing, Policy and Leadership, and is the Director for the Centre of Excellence for Policing Studies at the University of Cumbria. Through funding secured during round 1 of the

Degree Apprenticeship Development Fund offered by HEFCE, Julian chaired a group of ten HEIs who have worked with the trailblazer group to develop the Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship and other products within the PEQF.

This group continues to support the College of Policing and is subsequently working with the National Crime Agency supporting them with the development of the Serious and Complex Crime Investigator apprenticeship.

Marion Taylor, RGN, Dip N (Lond), B.Ed (Hons), M.Ed, Senior Fellow of the HEA

Marion is an Associate Professor and Director of Programmes in Nursing at Middlesex University. Marion has held a number of posts in clinical practice, practice development and more recently within Middlesex University. Marion has a particular interest in the development of staff in support and new nursing roles, in

developing and providing innovative routes to NMC Nursing registration, and in developing staff new to academic practice.

Dr Sinead Mehigan, Head of Department Adult, Child and Midwifery, Middlesex University Head of Department of Department of Adult, Child and Midwifery since 2012. Sinead has also had extensive experience in recent years within Capital Nurse on a seconded basis. Sinead’s teaching

and learning interests include acute nursing, anaesthetic and perioperative nursing, mentorship / preceptorship, leadership, and developing a sustainable nursing workforce. Research and scholarly outputs have focused on role development and perception, anaesthetic and perioperative nursing, and evaluations of workforce development and education initiatives in primary healthcare settings.

Professor Sally Smith, Dean of Computing, Edinburgh Napier University

Sally has been the Dean of Computing at Edinburgh Napier University since 2008 and leads the Centre for Computing Education Research at Edinburgh Napier. The School of Computing runs 3 Graduate Apprenticeship programmes.

Working with ScotlandS, she is also the Project Director of e-Placement Scotland, a Scottish Funding Council project designed to create 2300 new paid placements for computing students across Scotland.

Maighread Hegarty – Deputy Director for Academic Quality and Enhancement, London South Bank University

Maighread is currently Deputy Director for Academic Quality and Enhancement at London South Bank University. As part of this role, Maighread is developing course design and quality assurance

processes for Higher and Degree Apprenticeships and, in particular, the embedding of WBL in module delivery and assessment. Previously, Maighread worked at Hertford Regional College as Higher Education Manager and for many years at South and City College Birmingham including as Director of Creative Studies, managing a range of provision from entry to degree level. Maigread is a member of the QAA advisory forum an Higher and Degree Apprenticeships.

Dr Scott Andrews, Principal Lecturer and Programme Leader for Business Apprenticeships, University of Worcester Business School Scott is a Principal Lecturer in Leadership and Business at the University of Worcester. He is a Head of Department at

Worcester Business School and has responsibility for all executive Education and Business Apprenticeships, having formerly been the Strategic Lead for Work Based Learning. He began his academic career in 1996 at the Business School of the Royal Agricultural University and subsequently held posts at Cardiff University and the Open University. He is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Scott has provided Work-Based Learning support to postgraduate adult learners from a range of backgrounds and has worked directly in Work-Based Learning contexts with organisations including NHS Wales, DHL, WHO, the National Audit Office and the West Midlands Fire Service. In his role at Worcester, he has led the development of L5, L6 and L7 business apprenticeships including the launch of the Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship as a partnership programme with Walsall College. The first cohort of apprentices recruited to this programme were all representatives of Public Sector organisations.

Dr Sarah Fox, Senior Lecturer in Policing, Middlesex University

Dr Sarah Jane Fox is a Senior Lecturer in Criminology, specialising in law and policing. Sarah began her career in Policing and Law Enforcement. She holds a PhD in law whereby her research related

to cross border enforcement and the implications of the movement of people across set boundaries into other jurisdictions. Sarah has also, academically and in practice, specialised in the areas of equality, sexual offences, domestic abuse and serious & organised crimes.

Sarah has also worked in senior management roles, as a legal and practice consultant and adviser to a number of government departments and advisory boards relating to policing, transport and security. She holds numerous professional and academic memberships and qualifications. Sarah is currently a member of a number of law enforcement bodies. She sits as a Trustee on the Lloyd’s Tercentenary Research Foundation Board (as of 2017) and is a listed expert with the EU Parliament. In 2015/16 Sarah was awarded a Fulbright Research (Professorship) in the USA.

She is currently the Programme Leader in the area of policing (criminology) and she reviews and develops the curriculum in line with the changing needs of policing.

Dr Victoria Davenport, Programme Leader - Apprenticeship Degree in Healthcare Science, UWE Bristol

Victoria Davenport is the Programme Leader for the Apprenticeship Degree in Healthcare Science - Life Sciences/ Physiological Sciences/Clinical Engineering (in post NHS staff training), Program

manager for Postgraduate Research Training & Professional Development, Postgraduate Tutor, Senior Lecturer and Module leader for Applied Immunology, Immunology, Immunohaematology, Applied and Advanced Life Sciences.

A Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, PGCert with distinction (UWE, Bristol), Postdoc examining immunity to Neisseria & establishing mucosal immunity group (University of Bristol), PhD in Photobiology (Imperial College London formerly Royal Postgraduate Medical School at Hammersmith), BSc in Biology (University of Nottingham).

Dr Debbie Jack, Head of Department – Education, Middlesex University

Debbie Jack has been Head of Education at Middlesex University since 2010 and for 15 years prior to that taught on and then led the Primary ITT provision at Middlesex University.

The Education Department has over 1300 postgraduate and undergraduate students studying a range of programmes with an Education focus, based in London, Mauritius and Dubai. Approximately one third of these students are training to be teachers. Debbie is a member of the University Apprenticeship Steering Group and is part of the Degree Apprenticeships Development Fund (DADF) Project which seeks to promote public sector degree apprenticeships. Middlesex University will have their first intake of Teacher Apprentices in September 2018.

Dr Victoria Brook, associate Professor and Head of Initial Teacher Training (ITT), Middlesex University

Victoria Brook is the Head of Initial Teacher Training at Middlesex University and leads the Degree Apprenticeship Development Project for Education. She has worked in Initial Teacher Education

since 2003, after a long career teaching secondary science in London schools. Between 2012 and 2014, Victoria had a brief spell working for the Kent, Sussex and Surrey Postgraduate Medical Deanery, seconded from the University of London to provide educational services for postgraduate doctors and dentists. Victoria has an interest in professional learning, particularly with respect to investigating how professional education and educator roles are constructed and practiced across the professions.

Professor Carol Costley, Head of Research and Head of Research Degrees at the Faculty of Professional and Social Sciences, Middlesex University

Carol Costley is a Professor of Work and Learning. She is Head of Research and Head of Research Degrees at the Faculty of

Professional and Social Sciences. She gained her PhD (1995) from the University of Surrey and she holds a Master’s Degree in Work Based Learning Studies. She also holds professional qualifications in teaching and learning.

Carol works with organisations in the private, public, community and voluntary sectors internationally in the learning and teaching of work-based, taught and research degrees. She is Chair of the International Conference on Professional Doctorates, Chair of the ‘Association of Practice Doctorates’ and ‘Researching Work and Learning’ conference series committee member. She was an executive member of the Universities Association for Lifelong Learning (UALL) 2005-2011 and convenor of the UALL network for Work Based Learning 1998-2011.

Professor Jonathan Garnett, Emeritus Professor, Director, Garnett Professional Development (GPD) Ltd

Jonathan is the Director and owner of Garnett Professional Development (GPD) Ltd. Through GPD Jonathan undertakes consultancy in the development and implementation of work-

based learning at higher education level in the UK and internationally. Since 2014 Jonathan has worked with a range of English Universities to develop their Degree Apprenticeship capability through work-based learning.

Prior to 2014 Jonathan was the Director of the Institute for Work-Based Learning and Professor of Work-Based Knowledge at Middlesex University. Jonathan has over twenty-six years’ experience at the leading edge of the development and operation of work-based learning partnerships in the public, private and voluntary sectors at higher education level in the UK and internationally.

Edward Carter, Senior lecturer in Social Work, Programme Leader – step up to Social Work, Middlesex University

Edward Carter is the Programme Leader for the Step Up to Social Work programme and Senior Lecturer, Social Work (Research). He is a registered social worker and has a background of practice in adult

mental health services and working with people who have learning disabilities.

He has a particular interest in social work with adults who have complex care needs and in service user and carer coproduction.

Edward is the link tutor with iNVOLVE@MDX, the social work programmes service user and carer group. His research interests are in professional identities in adult social work .

Chantelle Gray, EPA Relationship Manager, Chartered Management Institute

Chantelle is a newly appointed End Point Assessment Relationship Manager, at The Chartered Management Institute. They organise and process the delivery of EPA all over England covering L3,L5,L6 and L7.

Chantelle’s role involves working with providers, to support them through the whole End Point Assessment process from Learner Registration to Certification, by providing training and guidance around the EPA toolkit and all Documentation and completing 6 Monthly Health Checks with providers.

She worked in the Apprenticeship Sector for over 4 years including Managing the Engineering and Construction Division for a FE College in the Derbyshire region, before moving to a national Private Training Provider managing large national Levy accounts. Chantelle has a good understanding of the industry and employers expectations around standards delivery post reforms.
