Builders Beams Ltd, has been

supplying steelwork to the

building trade since1992, offering

a fabrication, welding, surveying,

steel detailing, estimating and

steel erection service. From our

facility in Crawley, West Sussex

we distribute throughout the

South East of England and

Northern Home Counties.

There are three main parts to

Builders Beams Ltd:

Builders Beams Fast TrackThe primary function of our

business is to supply Universal

Beams, Universal Columns and

Channels either through

preferred builders merchants or

direct. These beams can be

supplied at any length and

generally involve very little

fabrication work. They can be

supplied on a fast turnaround

basis, which can be either same

day collection or delivery from

24 hours.

Builders BeamsReinforcing, Fabric,Rebar and AccessoriesHaving acquired the Parker Steel

reinforcing business in April 2007,

Builders Beams Ltd can offer

highly competitive pricing on

reinforcing mesh, cut and bent

and all other associated

accessories. Once again throughour own supply chain, we can

offer same day collection and

24 hour deliveries from our stock

range. Orders for rebar would

have a delivery time scale of

approximately 48 hours.

MULTIBEAM PURLINS

It can also be described as an I shaped beam or

as an H shaped beam.

It is not a universal channel, which is a common

misconception. Sizes range from 100mm high to

305mm high.

Originally designed for usage as posts or columns,

however, todays current usage is more frequently in

that of a conventional beam. This is mainly due to its

reduced height and increased strength as a beam.

Dimensions UCs come in standard sizes and its

height and width are always the same.

I shaped beam but can also be described as an H

shaped beam. It is not, as it is sometimes

misconstrued, a U shape.

Universal Beams are always higher than their width.

Sizes range from127mm high to 915mm high.Dimensions 1st dimension is always the height 2nd

dimension is always the width 3rd dimension is always

the weight in kilograms per metre.

C shaped beam this is not a UC.

Sizes range from 50mm high to 400mm high.

The old term used for PFC was RSC or rolled steel

channel. This may still be requested.

No other shape code number, form of designation or

abbreviation shall be used in scheduling.

A dimensioned sketch shall be drawn over the dimension

columns A to E.

Every dimension shall be specified and the dimension that is to
