WHAT YOU’LL NEED: • Empty milk carton • 2 small mirrors - these should be able to fit snugly in the carton • Index card • Protractor • Scissors • Tape • Pen INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Using the protractor, draw a triangle with a 45 degree angle. This will help you draw lines on the milk carton. 2. Take the template and draw two diagonal lines on one side of the milk carton. One set of lines should be close to the top of the carton, and the other set near the bottom. 3. Repeat this process on the other side of the carton. This set of lines should be directly opposite the first set you drew. 4. Use your scissors to carefully cut along each line to make a slot. 5. Cut a small flap in front of the top mirror. You can fold this up or tape it in place. 6. Poke a small hole in front of the bottom mirror – this is the hole you will look through to see around corners! 7. When you use the periscope, light enters through the top flap and reflect from the top mirror to the bottom mirror! See around corners with this nifty tool!
