• Consider how the outcomes of APP can be recorded and monitored and used to underpin curriculum development
• Consider how APP can be evolved and imbedded across your science department

• In October:– “Complete an APP activity with a class and bring
along some evidence to show how the pupils have responded at different levels”
• Work in table groups. • Share the outcomes of the work you have done in
school.• Each table should agree 1 outcome to feedback to the
rest of the group.

• In table groups discuss how the implementation of APP is happening in your department.
• Note Positives / Minuses / Interesting points and Questions (separately) on postit notes and place on posters around the room

• about the teachers professional judgement and does not replace all other forms of assessment;
• Supports the assessment processes and is not independent of it;

Task: Planning an activity to assess pupil progress
• Look at the spreadsheet for the class recording progress against APP criteria
• Consider how you would move the pupils in the class forward in 1 AF

• Draft a lesson plan accordingly, incorporating lesson objectives, outcomes linked to APP criteria and teaching and learning activities

• Before the next training (afternoon 5th May 2010) undergo some moderation of work within the department
• Bring along some examples of moderated work to the meeting and be prepared to talk about the process
