Gold or shadow how do I know? I know my Golden Lover is supporting me when I’m connected with abundance and love; that looks like taking care of myself first … and then loving the world. I know my Shadow Lover is sabotaging me when all I see is scarcity: scarce love, scarce hope, “I’m the victim.” I also know my Shadow Lover is sabotaging me when I am lost in a sensual addiction like drugs, food, sex, alcohol or love.

The outcome is control. The Shadow Magician is often a people pleaser/, histrionic, figuring out what other people want. I don’t feel love

2.

Gold or Shadow how do I know? I know my Golden Magician is supporting me when I accept that my fear is a part of life because I can’t forecast outcomes; this knowledge supports true humility. So, I’m open to input from people who know more or less than me to reduce the risk: risk manager. I know my Shadow Magician is sabotaging me when I hide my fear. This looks like I’m right and I’m not open to your input. Another technique for looking superior is to shame you. These are all due to my core belief that I’m not worthy unless I’m perfect.

BOOK 1. THE CHARACTER OF TAO

1. ON THE ABSOLUTE TAO

The Tao that can be told ofIs not the Absolute Tao;

The Names that can be given Are not Absolute Names.

The Nameless is the origin of Heaven and Earth; The Named is the Mother of All Things.

Therefore:Oftentimes, one strips oneself of passion

In order to see the Secret of Life;Oftentimes, one regards life with passion,

In order to see its manifest forms.

These two (the Secret and its manifestations)Are (in their nature) the same;

They are given different namesWhen they become manifest.

They may both be called the Cosmic Mystery:1

Reaching from the Mystery into the Deeper MysteryIs the Gate to the Secret2 of All Life.

1 Hsuiin- This word is the equivalent of "mystic" or "mysticism." Taoism is also known as the Hsiianchiao, or"Mystic Religion."2 Miao may also be translated as “Essence.” It means “the wonderful” the “ultimate” the “logically unknowable” the “quintessence” or “esoteric truth.”

King, Warrior, Magician & Lover ArchetypesSetup, Intentions and Process

The first 9 pages are for the participants. The next 8 pages are for the facilitators. 1 Hour Pre-Meeting, 1 – 5 (facilitators only). If you have any questions just call or e-mail me.

1. The intentions for facilitators of this process are two-fold: to sit in my strongest archetype and have a deep understanding of how that shadow sabotages me; and to use this knowledge to be clearer and cleaner with myself, my loved ones and in facilitating men’s work. However, if you find the gift you need I support that outcome.

2. Overview men are sensei into the room then asked to center themselves. Next they will sit in front of each archetype, and then they get up and move around the circle. Facilitators sit in one quadrant for the whole process, this allows them to go deeper and deeper

3. Lead facilitator asks the newest facilitator to pick his strongest quadrant, next newest picks his strongest, etc.; lead facilitator picks last. If facilitating again pick a different quadrant from last time. Lead models facilitating:

i. Start with reading the archetypes gold.

ii. The lead models, “This is how my Golden [quadrant] supports me;” give two to four examples and “This is how my Shadow [quadrant] sabotages me;” give two to four examples and “This is my awareness of shifting from sabotaging me to supporting me;” give two to four examples

iii. Then the leader processes each facilitator through Gold and Shadow of the quadrant he is facilitating.

4. [Leader] Lead in by reminding each quadrant facilitator to ground men into their space (as each new group arrives) in a way unique to that archetype’s energy and that fits for him. After completing the process Lead out by asking them to return to their center to prepare for the next energy.

5. Challenge each man with his sensei question below and ask them if they are willing to challenge the other men.

i. I hold the energy of the Lover and I invite you to have an open and forgiving heart through this process.

ii. I stand in the gate of the Warrior are you ready to take a long hard look at yourself today (tonight)?

iii. Coming from the direction of the west, the Magician invites you to bring all of your attention to what comes up for you, so that you learn about yourself, while letting go of judgments that don’t serve you.

iv. I welcome and bless you into this circle and I invite your King to stand with ours. Take a seat in essential silence.

Page 10: Bryan D€¦ · Web viewThe Wisdom of Laotse, (more commonly known as The Tao Te Ching) by Lin Yutang, The Modern Library, 1948. BOOK 1. THE CHARACTER OF TAO 1. ON THE ABSOLUTE TAO

Starting the Process (with all participants)Getting the group centered, 6 - 15

6. Start the exercise with four gates when entering the room. Sensei questions or statement such as:

i. I hold the energy of the Lover and I invite you to have an open and forgiving heart through this process.

ii. I have been waiting for you my spirit guide name is ____ (White Dragon) what is your spirit guide’s name? (Repeat name) ____, I stand in the gate of the Warrior are you ready to take a long hard look at yourself today?

7. [Lover] Sit up straight and breath deeply for the next two minutes to become more centered in yourself, so that you can get what you came for today.

8. [King, after two minutes] With your eyes still closed and remaining centered open a path from your head to your heart. Hear the meaning behind the words in a good way, “with your heart”.

9. [Start with the Lover – speak for one minute about how the Golden archetype functions (direction, feeling, energy, time, animal,…). Next is Warrior for one minute, then Magician, then King.]

10. [Warrior] With your heart and through your own knowing, notice which archetype is strongest in your life today? When you have it in your mind, open your heart and then your ears and eyes.

11. [Lead] Each archetype has an ability to support my Gold or to sabotage me through my Shadow. Gold or Shadow, how do I know? I would like you men to listen to this.[Read to men] It is hard to understand the relationship of opposites that appear in life; but we can catch some of the understanding by the following Taoist parable.

In this story, a farmer's strongest horse runs away, and his neighbors come over to sympathize with him over his loss and bad luck. His response is "Good or bad how do I know?"

The next day his horse comes back and brings with it six wild horses. The neighbors come over again and this time speaks of what good fortune has fallen onto the farmer. The farmer's response is "Good or bad how do I know?"

The following day the farmer's son starts to train the horses for riding, but is thrown and breaks his leg. Once again the neighbors come over and offer their sympathy for the farmer's bad luck. And once again his reply is "Good or bad how do I know?"

The next day army officers come by looking for young recruits to take off to war, but because of the son's broken leg, they don't take him. Finally the neighbors come over to exclaim how well everything has turned out. The farmer's reply again is, "Good or bad how do I know?"

Gold or Shadow, how do I know? Well, this is one of the intentions of this process.

12. (Optional) Leader has men shut their eyes to help to find their own image, or symbol to hold their four archetypes.

i. Example – The Body: Lover=Heart, Warrior=Balls, Magician=Third Eye and King=Crown Chakra

Page 11: Bryan D€¦ · Web viewThe Wisdom of Laotse, (more commonly known as The Tao Te Ching) by Lin Yutang, The Modern Library, 1948. BOOK 1. THE CHARACTER OF TAO 1. ON THE ABSOLUTE TAO

ii. Example – The Castle: Lover=Master Bedroom, Warrior=Round Table, Magician=The Tower and King=The Throne

13.Now move to the archetype that chose you. If men are having troubles, ask them: if they knew, what would it be?

14. [Magician] Reposition men if necessary so there are about the same number of men in front of each archetype station. From your heart pair up.

i. If there is an uneven number or no other men in your archetype have the remaining men pair up.

ii. Men, scribing for your partners, use their handout to write on. Everyone take a seat.

15. The Intentions for you as Participants in this process are threefold, however, if you find the gifts you need I support that outcome.

i. To be in touch with the archetype in a personal way, which could look like knowing, thinking or feeling them in yourself depending on how you process the world. By experiencing them yourself, not quoting books or warriors by “knowing yourself.”

ii. To understand that my strongest supporting archetype is also my strongest shadow archetype sabotaging me in hidden ways. My shadow is sure that it’s other people or other things that are the problem. I know “it’s not me.”

iii. Inviting you to step into your weakest archetype in a more powerful way. Then balancing the archetypes is a building process not a destructive endeavor. Building the weakest is a way I can support my whole structure.

Running the process & Checking out, 16 – 1916. [King] Men, you will be invited to sit in the energy of the archetype you’re in by the quadrant

facilitators. Let the journey continue.

i. The facilitator starts with lead in (centering) then moving to the gold. To sharing their gold or shadow with each other, the men break out into pairs. If there are an odd number of men, the facilitator pairs up with the extra man to share.

ii. Group up again for shadow and again break out into pairs for the personal sharing.

iii. Group up again and share your awareness of how you go from Gold to Shadow.iv. Lead out by inviting men to center and the journey continues.

17.Someone keeps time: 15 to 20 min. with each of the four archetypes, same for How do I know. After the first two archetypes take 10 min. bio-break. Check out and blessing 15 to 20 Min. Have the warrior quadrant give men time checks helping them move from gold to shadow.

18.After completing all four quadrants move once more, back to where they started. The facilitator now de-roles and guides them through stretch pages for strongest (catch shadow) and weakest (build gold) – this is a process of balancing the structure, not one of de-constructing the psyche.

19. When the process is complete circle up. We will be doing a whip. What came up for me, a blessing to myself, a blessing to my partner, I will call him in the next week. I’m out.

20. If anythings is unclear or if this is your first time doing and/or running this process, please call as I would be happy to answer any of your questions. Bryan @ 847-361-9490
