What Are Brownfields?

• State corporate income tax credit for
expenses incurred by a taxpayer in

• 50% of expenses up to $50,000 in a year; can carryover up to $100,000 for 5 years
• Jobs tax credit in the amount of an additional $1000 toestablished job tax credit
• Property tax exemption, with county concurrence
• Fees in lieu of property taxes, with a $1 million thresholdminimum

• Loan Size: Up to $1 million
• 30% debt forgiveness (maximum of $200,000) fornon-profits and governments
• 10 year repayment period
• Interest rate 1-3%; Loan fee of1.5%
• Collateral or pledge of faith andcredit of government is required
• 25% local match required – CDBG and in-kindexpenses qualify
