C apture energy that’s generated during low tariff rate periods for deployment
to the grid during high tariff periods, thereby maximising profitability on
operator ’s / owner ’s investments. The systems can be directly communicated with
from a remote location to enable, deploy or store via TCP/IP relays. The units can
also be configured to store energy when Distributer Network Operators (DNO)
request a cessation of production due to network restrictions, which allows the
renewable generator to store its output as opposed to ceasing production.
T he Solstice Power Solutions range
of systems can be easily configured
to act as a large scale uninterruptible
power supply (UPS) to ensure resilience
to critical business operations.
T he aim of a peak shaving
configuration is to supply the
peaks of a highly variable load thereby
reducing dependency on the grid for
supply. Energy storage provides the
ideal solution to this as it can deploy
large amounts of energy quickly with
zero emissions, whereas the alternative
would increase the demand on an over
burdened grid, which adds additional
cost.
S olstice Power Solutions’ systems
are able to form the heart of a
micro grid which can operate either
independently or alongside the grid. It
can receive power from multiple sources
such as generators, Solar PV, wind etc
and deploy it as needed, intelligently.
T here can be a gap between
power generation and demand
on the grid which causes the grid
frequency to alternate from its correct
value. The grid frequency should
remain as consistent as possible, so the
implementation of an energy storage
system which is able to be configured
to deploy large amounts of energy
quickly to stabilise the grid is essential
to manage the balance. The Solstice

project. Our Battery Energy Storage
Systems can be configured using lead
acid or Lithium Ion chemistries, adjusted
Power Control Systems (PCS) outputs,
communication features, reporting
mechanisms and colouring/branding

Our Solutions T he SP-BESS-20 is a self-contained energy storage system that uses 20kWh of
LiFePO4 cells to store energy generated from a DC load such as a Solar array
and deploy it on demand. It forms the heart of a micro grid with its clear and
intuitive display screen, giving operators real time information. Units have been
successfully deployed globally and have made a real difference to the communities
into which they were installed.

provider of domestic energy storage
solutions; Powervault, to bring to
market their
range of storage
options for home
& business. The
implementation
of a Powervault
system will
lower energy
consumed from
the grid by
enabling users to utilise their self-
generated energy at night or at
peak demand periods. The units
can range from 2-6kWh storage
options and have a convenience AC
output in case of
emergencies or
power cut situations.
T he Battery Energy Storage System
(BESS) SP-BESS-XX range is a
configurable range of self-contained ISO
standard shipping containers that have
been equipped with energy storage
systems, inversion, power control
systems, lighting & environmental
controls and reporting facilities. The
configuration options range from 250kW
to 1.8MW in Lithium Ion or Lead Acid
and can output in DC or AC at 3 phase
400v. These units are fully configurable
for a range of uses including renewable
energy DC “buffering” which smooths
the output to the grid from highly
volatile inputs, frequency regulation,
peak shaving and many others. They
can be quickly deployed in areas of
disaster to give immediate power to
remote communities, or
built in as part of
a grid based
optimisation
system.
