EM3DS (Electromagnetic 3D Solver) is at its 12th editions, improving and adding features to its portfolio. EM3DS 12 implements extended parametric features, additional editing utilities and several time-domain tools. EM3DS 12.1 -in spite of being labeled still as version 12- is a major breakthrough, as EM3DS has been completely updated with new technology and it is now 64 bit, featuring 30% and more higher speed and unlimited memory capability. A macromodel builder, a very useful tool to speed up the circuit design, is also included. EM3DS is a frequency-domain full-wave simulation tool tailored to efficiently accomplish the analysis of quasi-planar structures specifically planar structures over complex substrates, where the finite conductors' thickness and the dielectric discontinuities are accounted for with no compromise thus, rendering EM3DS a full 3D tool. Unlike most Method-of-Moment (MoM) solvers available on the market, it uses volume currents to account for conductors and dielectric bricks (generally MoM solvers are 2.5D in their very nature, using only surface currents). This feature allows modeling Dielectric Resonators, bulk acoustic wave resonators (FBAR), active linear Field Effect Transistors, as well as standard MMIC and printed circuits, filters. New internal ports are specially useful for modeling packages. The new charts and calculation of far field make EM3DS 2011 suitable for planar antennas. An Object Oriented Pascal Script is added to allow customization of the EM3DS and direct access of EM3DS features EM3DS also features a 2.5D engine, making easier and faster to correctly setup robust electromagnetic simulations. Definition of structures in EM3DS is done layer by layer in the main 2D graphical window - however there are several 3D visualization windows to check the design and where to see induced currents. EM3DS can also import layer structures in the BMP, DXF and GDSII formats from mechanical drawing software. All parameters, dimensions and material constants can be defined using mathematical expressions, and may be used to run automatic full-wave optimization Various ports and port calibration can be defined, characteristic impedances for (un)coupled transmission lines are computed. By using the proprietary Asymptotic Estimation Algorithm (extracting most of the information from a single frequency analysis), and the SmartFIT tool, wide-band simulations are performed very fast. • EM3DS (Electromagnetic 3D Solver) is at its 12th editions, improving

and adding features to its portfolio. EM3DS 12 implements extended

parametric features, additional editing utilities and several time-domain

tools. EM3DS 12.1 -in spite of being labeled still as version 12- is a major

breakthrough, as EM3DS has been completely updated with new

technology and it is now 64 bit, featuring 30% and more higher speed

    and unlimited memory capability.

A macromodel builder, a very useful tool to speed up the circuit design,

    is also included.

    EM3DS is a frequency-domain full-wave simulation tool tailored to

efficiently accomplish the analysis of quasi-planar structures specifically planar structures over complex substrates, where the finite conductors'

thickness and the dielectric discontinuities are accounted for with no

compromise thus, rendering EM3DS a full 3D tool.

Unlike most Method-of-Moment (MoM) solvers available on the market, it

uses volume currents to account for conductors and dielectric bricks

(generally MoM solvers are 2.5D in their very nature, using only surface

currents). This feature allows modeling Dielectric Resonators, bulk

acoustic wave resonators (FBAR), active linear Field Effect

Transistors, as well as standard MMIC and printed circuits, filters.

New internal ports are specially useful for modeling packages. The new

charts and calculation of far field make EM3DS 2011 suitable for planar

    antennas.

An Object Oriented Pascal Script is added to allow customization of the

EM3DS and direct access of EM3DS features

EM3DS also features a 2.5D engine, making easier and faster to

    correctly setup robust electromagnetic simulations.

Definition of structures in EM3DS is done layer by layer in the main 2D

graphical window - however there are several 3D visualization windows

to check the design and where to see induced currents.

EM3DS can also import layer structures in the BMP, DXF and GDSII

formats from mechanical drawing software. All parameters, dimensions

and material constants can be defined using mathematical

expressions, and may be used to run automatic full-wave

    optimization

Various ports and port calibration can be defined, characteristic

impedances for (un)coupled transmission lines are computed.

By using the proprietary Asymptotic Estimation Algorithm (extracting

most of the information from a single frequency analysis), and the

SmartFIT tool, wide-band simulations are performed very fast.
