The VRS Bedhead/Room Sounderis the ideal choice for a discreetbut effective warning signal.The innovative design allows thesound to be laterally dispersedenabling the unit to be equallyeffective from any direction.

ZXB Xenon Beacons

The ZXB beacon utilises the moretraditional xenon technology toprovide an extremely high lightoutput for applications where lowcurrent draw is not the priority. Eachbeacon incorporates a Fresnel lensarrangement designed to givemaximum light output. For the 5 wattbeacons, the lens size is heightenedto maximise the available lightoutput. The inrush current has beencleverly reduced to avoid thepossibility of overloading sounderzones on activation.

VBL Fire Alarm Bell

The VBL 6” motorised bell has beendesigned to offer maximumperformance combined with rapidinstallation and a sleek low profileappearance. RIU Remote Indicator Units

The RIU unit is used to give a remoteindication of the status of a single orgroups of fire detectors in alarmstate utilising an LED with a widearea of illumination and high on/offcontrast. The units are compatiblewith the majority of conventional andaddressable systems and can alsobe used for security and processcontrol applications. The standardversion is a single gang flushmounted unit, with or without ‘FireDetector Operated’ text and alsoavailable with a deep back box forsurface mounting.

R24 Auxiliary Relay Units

The R24 relay is intended to switchadditional field devices via the tworelay outputs supplied. An LED ismounted so that it remains visibleduring the relay operation. Thesupply voltage to the relay coil maybe continued through the device viathe additional terminals supplied.Each device is reverse polarityprotected. Typical usage examplesare; automatic door retainers, smokevents and fan shutdown, which areintended to be operated by anautomatic fire system. Threeversions available; single gangsurface mounted, PCB only andPCB mounted in a metal enclosure.

The EN54 compliant call pointfeatures a high intensity LEDindicator and is supplied ready fittedwith 470 Ohm, 680 Ohm resistorsand a protective diode for use inmost fire alarm systems. Power Supply Units

The 200 series unregulatedTransformer Rectifiers are suitable forpowering a range of field devices andare ideal for use with the CranfordControls door retainers. The unitscontain an internal relay allowing theload output to be switched off onactuation of an external contact or theapplication of 24v dc. On power offthe load output is automatically cutoff, making it ideal for fail-safe doorretaining applications.

• 2 or 4 amp rating available

• The units feature a green LED toindicate mains present and anamber LED to indicate a fault

• An additional relay may be addedby using the Cranford Controls R24relay pcb only

The 300 series Power Supplies arespecifically designed for use with 24vconventional and addressable firecontrol panels. Batteries with asupply voltage greater than 18v areneeded to activate the chargingcircuit. Batteries are monitoredcontinuously to ensure and

communicate an adequate state ofcharge. A fault condition is given viathe volt free contacts.

The DRW door retainer is available intwo casings, a flame retardant lowprofile ABS plastic body, speciallydesigned for Cranford and a singlegang metal bodied version. Eachunit features a spring loaded releasepin mounted centrally within theelectromagnet ensuring that onpower off the fire door is pushedsafely and effectively away from thekeeper plate.

DRG Decorative Magnetic Door Retainers

The DRG decorative door retainersare available in either a brightchrome or lacquered brass finish,with or without a manual releaseswitch. If surface mount is requireda matching decorative back box kitis available separately. Each unitfeatures a spring loaded release pinmounted centrally within theelectromagnet ensuring that onpower off the fire door is pushedsafely and effectively away from thekeeper plate.

DRP Pole Mounted Magnetic Door Retainers

The DRP door retainers are availablein both 500N and 1000N versionsand also come in two standardlengths which can also be cut tolength if required. The magnet isfixed within an adjustable headwhich allows the door retainer totransform between floor, wall orceiling mounted. The stand andadjustable head are fabricated fromsteel providing a very robuststructure. A moulded cover isincluded to conceal the mountingfixings once installed.

IP65 Weatherproof Magnetic Door Retainers

The IP65 door retainers are availablein 24v dc and 230v ac versions. Thisdoor retainer has been designed foruse with virtually all applications,including marine facilities due to itsIP65 water ingress protection.Combined with this is its robust steelconstruction, plated in zinc, aiding inthe protection against rusting if theretainer is exposed to moisture. Theunit has a strong holding force of1200N.

We offer a range of accessoriessuitable for use with your choice ofdoor retainer. Keeper plate optionsare; the standard KP-02 unit for usewith up to 200N magnets completewith a rubber washer to allow settingof desired angle and our DRF-Cmetal keeper plates which comewith 1 metre of chain that can be cutto length. The Dorgard providesa wireless solution forlegally holding open

fire doors in any position andreleasing them upon the fire alarmsounding. Fireco System X Wireless

The Dorgard X isactivated by System X(TX). When Dorgard X

receives a signal from the TX unit,the Dorgard X releases the fire doorspreventing the spread of fire andsmoke. One System X (TX) can beused to control any number ofDorgard X units within a 100 metrerange, subject to a site specificsurvey. Dorgard X incorporates thelatest radio technology making itsuitable for all environments.

Fireco System X Hardwired Transmitter

A new hardwired version of thehighly successful System X firesafety system that uses a System Xhardwired Wi-Fi transmitter unit,directly wired into the fire alarmpanel, to automatically signal a firealarm condition to all wirelesslylinked products. A System Xtransmitter unit (TX) positioned nextto the fire alarm panel is wired intothe fire alarm fault and soundercircuit, or into the fire alarm loopusing fire rated cable. The TX unitmonitors the fire alarm panel as wellas any linked device, such asDorgard X or Deafgard X. In theevent of an alarm or fault, theSystem X transmitter will send aradio signal to all linked devices tofail-to-safe, i.e. Dorgard X willrelease the fire doors. System X ispowered by the fire alarm panel as

well as having a battery back-upfacility; in the event of power failureall System X products in range willfail-to-safe within 96 seconds, thusexceeding the standard. System Xcan be set to 16 separate channelsallowing different systems to beinstalled in multiple locations.

Pepperl & Fuchs Isolating Barriers & Enclosures

The range of Pepperl & Fuchsisolated barriers that we offer areavailable to suit most applicationsfor interfacing fire detectors ontoconventional and addressablesystems as well as driving ISsounders / beacons. Each barrierhas been tested and certified so thatover voltage on the primary (safe)side of the transformer cannotrelease energy across the winding tothe secondary (hazardous) windingof the transformer. The use oftransformer isolated barrierscombined with sounders means thatinstallers may wire both detectorsand sounders/beacons with norequirement for an intrinsically safeearth, making for a more simplifiedand cost-effective approach tohazardous areas.

• RoHS Compliance

- The RoHS Directive came into force on 1 July 2006. Our manufacturing facility and products have been lead-free since 2005 andare labelled accordingly.

• WEEE Compliance

- The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive seeks to reduce the amount of WEEE sent to landfill. The WEEEregulations came into force in July 2007. As a producer of WEEE, Cranford Controls has put into place arrangements to facilitate thecollection, transportation and appropriate recycling of WEEE, for which we have an obligation. In line with the WEEE regulations,Cranford Controls is registered with the Veolia WEEE Producer Compliance Scheme.

- As part of this legislation, all our products are marked with the crossed out wheeled bin symbol.

- All the products which are manufactured by Cranford Controls and/or branded as Cranford Controls are our responsibility. Productswhich we distribute on behalf of our carefully selected suppliers and retain their identity fall under their responsibility. - Cranford Controls have made arrangements with Veolia for free advice to be made available to all our customers and potentialcustomers regarding the implications of the WEEE directive upon them. • Customer Returns Policy

- Warranty PeriodAll products manufactured by Cranford Controls Ltd are covered by a 12 month warranty period ex-works. However, this period willbe extended up to 18 months from the manufactured date provided the manufacturing information is still intact. This practise allowsfor transportation time and storage of the product.Products originating from other manufacturers will be subject to those manufacturers’ policies and conditions, which are beyond ourcontrol. We will endeavour to keep the customer informed of any policy changes.Products manufactured by Cranford Controls Limited will display a product label showing the product reference number, e.g. VTG-32 and shall have the date of manufacture affixed to the product.This information will be used to determine any out of warranty charges that may be applicable.The warranty will be deemed as void if the date code has been replaced/removed/ damaged or defaced in any way.

- Returns Procedure for goods still in WarrantyCheck the manufacturer’s date of manufacture label to verify that the product to be returned falls within the stated warranty. If itdoesn’t, please follow the returns procedure below for goods out of warranty.When obtaining a Non Conformance Control number please give full details of the exact nature of the fault and any other relevantinformation, which may be helpful to us when diagnosing the fault (e.g. any peripheral equipment that may be in situ.).If items are returned for our attention in an un-merchantable condition, e.g. scratched or marked in any way, drill holes bored, paintsmeared products, items not in their original packaging, etc. any form of credit may be refused irrespective of whether the product(s)is in or out of warranty. An extra charge to return the equipment to merchantable condition may be applicable.Any item(s) returned with an instruction to repair and return will be actioned FOC if still under warranty and subject to circumstance.

- Advance ReplacementsAccount customers will be invoiced on despatch of advance replacement products. Our agreed payment terms will apply.A proforma invoice will be raised for non-account customers. Payment must be received before the goods are despatched.On receipt of the goods by the customer our ‘Returns Procedure for Goods still in Warranty;, as detailed above will apply.Only under exceptional circumstances will we issue a credit for return of original product(s) supplied where an advancedreplacement has been issued. This is subject to prior agreement.

- NotificationAny parcels returned to Cranford Controls Limited will be recorded and the sender will be notified of their receipt.Each product will be individually inspected and dealt with on its own merit.A fault report is available on request. However, ALL goods returned to sender will have the fault report attached to the parcel.We endeavour to deal with returns as quickly and efficiently as possible. Our normal turnaround time for repairs is typically 2-3weeks from receipt of the goods.

- Goods surplus to requirement or ordered in errorAt the discretion of the Company, goods surplus to the customer’s requirement or ordered in error may be returned to us providedthey are in their original state and in their original packaging. These may be subject to a handling charge of up to 30%. Prioragreement must be obtained before returning surplus goods.

- Warranty TimesStandard warranty time on products is 1 year with exceptions for the following items:
