Year 5 Website club In year 5 website club we have been doing a page about Great North East Inventors. The inventers we are learning about are:

• William Armstrong

• Charles Parsons

• Robert Stephenson

• George Stephenson

• Joseph Swan

William Armstrong invented Hydroelectricity. He also put the machine in the Swing Bridge on the Tyne.

Charles Parsons invented the Steam Turbine. He put one in a ship called the Turbinia and it is in the Discovery Museum in Newcastle upon Tyne.

Robert Stephenson invented the high bridge on the Tyne.

Year 5 Website club George Stephenson invented the Locomotive (Train). One of

them is called the Rocket.

Joseph Swan invented the Light bulb.

There is a lot more invented things but that’sIt from us.
