COMMUNITY CENTER TO HOST CHURCH'S EVENT WITHGUESTS FROM LOCAL LAW-ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES

Fort Worth, Texas, June 9, 2011 — On Monday through Thursday, June 13-16, at 6:30pm nightly, The Brighter Outlook Center will host Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church's Annual Vacation Bible School.

Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church (EMBC) annually creates custom, community-oriented, pop-culture-derived,biblically-based themes for Vacation Bible School (VBS).

This year's theme is "CSI:Stop Six."

The organizers of EMBC's VBS have invited numerous members of local-law enforcement agencies to the event. The officers and detectives will participate and field questions about careers in law enforcement from attendees.

EMBC's Director of Christian Education, D.J. Adams said "We developed this year's theme with the entire community in mind. The unfortunate fact is Stop Six has often experienced some sharp discord between her citizens and law-enforce-ment organizations. Although, VBS is a Christian-Education opportunity and not a community forum, we welcome the interaction with police officers. Many of the off-duty officers that have said they will come, are from right here in Stop Six and surrounding areas. They attended the same schools, churches and are neighbors of the adults and children that attend our VBS. Those attendees will get to interact with the officers and learn about the rewards and challenges of their job. It will be a rare opportunity for some VBS participants to hear what police work in the community is like, from someone that looks like them and is from the same place. Everyone is invited. It's for all ages, not just kids."

Monday night's VBS session will be followed by music and the "Second Annual Karaoke Kontest" with professionalmusician, Rodney Bowens.
