SCHOOL CULTURE AND PRACTICES
• Teachers’ schedule is tight and will only return
call when they are available and not beyond a
certain time in the evening
• “Teachers are not maids/machines and admin
staff are not UPS”; we want students to be
responsible for their own actions

PHASES OF P1 REGISTRATION
• Phase 1
– Sibling of current students (SC/SPR)
• Phase 2A(1)
– Parent is an ex-student and a member of the school alumni
– Parent is a member of School Advisory Committee (SAC)
• Phase 2A(2)
– Parent/Sibling is an ex-student
– Parent is a school staff
– For a child from MOE kindergarten
- Child must be a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident

– Parent is a school’s Parent Volunteer/
GrassrootVolunteer/Member of church or clan
directly connected with the school

– All children who are Singapore Citizen/Singapore

1. The child is a Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident;
2. (a) Parent has joined the school as a parent volunteer no later than 01 Jul 2020 and has contributed at least 40hours of voluntary service to the school by 30 Jun 2021;
(b) Parent is endorsed as a member of the church/clan directly connected to the school;
(c) Parent is endorsed as an active community leader.

Completion of the 40 hours of voluntary
service does NOT guarantee a place in
the school for your child, as the number
of vacancies left after Phases 1, 2A1 and
2A2 are unknown at this moment.

BALLOTING will take place should the number of
children registered at Phase 2B exceed the
number of vacancies available.
With effect from 2012 P1 Registration Exercise,
Singapore Citizens (SCs) will be given absolute
priority over Permanent Residents (PRs) when
balloting is required.

Order of Priority for places to be balloted:
(a) Children living within 1 km of the school
(b) Children living between 1 km and 2 km of the school
(c) Children living outside 2 km of the school.
If the applications exceed the vacancies in a specific
phase, priority will be given in the order of (1)
children who are SCs, followed by (2) children who
are PRs.
If the number of applicants within each category
exceeds the number of vacancies in that phase,
balloting will be conducted according to home-
school distance.

- Library duties - Data Entry- Chaperones for Local Learning Journeys- Chaperones for Local Camps- Logistic Support for Special School Events- Other Supports deemed fit by the school

TERMS & CONDITIONS
PVs are strongly encouraged to contribute continuous
service to the school during the qualifying period so as to
(a) develop continuous personal involvement and
commitment to the school by playing an active role in
contributing to and improving our school
(b) support our efforts to produce well-balanced students who
are not only outstanding individuals but also responsible
citizens committed to serving others

TERMS & CONDITIONS
The school reserves the right to remove a PV
from the Parent Volunteer Scheme under the
following conditions:
(a) If the PV does not respond to the school’s
attempts to contact them prior to their
assignments (3 times or more);
(b) If the PV repeatedly turns down the school’s
request to perform voluntary service (3 times or
more);

TERMS & CONDITIONS
The school reserves the right to remove PVs from
the Parent Volunteer Scheme under the following
conditions:
(c) If the PV is found to be negligent or acting in
an irresponsible/inappropriate manner whilst
performing his/her services;
(d) If a PV fails to perform his/her services that
meet the school’s expected standards;

TERMS & CONDITIONS
The school reserves the right to remove PVs
from the Parent Volunteer Scheme under the
following conditions:
(e) If the PV is found to hold negative views
about school’s existing philosophy, policies and
programmes.

Other Terms & Conditions
• Only the parents of the child can render the service. Relatives, friends, colleagues and domestic helpers are not allowed to cover the service on behalf of the parents.
• No children or accompanies should be brought along while rendering services.
• No “sharing” of work between spouses and clock as “double”

OTHER TERMS & CONDITIONS
• Be properly attired with appropriate clothes and
footwear (No shorts and spaghetti straps at
anytime or high-heeled shoes at swimming
complex or business shirts at camps)
• Flexibility in expectation of jobs and timings as
tasks are limited and school office operates on 5-
day work week

TERMS & CONDITIONS
The school shall NOT be held responsible in the event
that the parent volunteer is not able to fulfill the
minimum 40 hours of voluntary service and, as such,
not meeting the requirement for registration at Phase
2B of the Primary One Registration Exercise.

OTHER POINTS TO CONSIDER
• For those living outside 2 km, please consider carefully,
the rise in transport costs due to escalation of fuel
prices and the occasional inconvenience due to school ‘s
unique scheduling
• Proximity to school – better chance
• PRs to consider taking up Singapore citizenship
