A HISTORY OF EXCELLENCEBRIDGES was founded by Paul R. Bridges in 1982 after a successful career with the Mellon-Stuart Company. Paul Bridges pioneered the merit shop concept in Pittsburgh and the region in the commercial, institutional, and light industrial construction markets. BRIDGES consistently ranks in the top twenty-five general contracting firms in the Greater Pittsburgh area.

options to choose the most appropriate delivery method for their unique project.

Once this project framework is in place, BRIDGES customizes a construction plan

to fulfill the client’s project needs, focusing on important factors such as budget,

schedule, and desired level of involvement.

Each project has its own set of unique circumstances, requiring a custom

approach to construction. These circumstances include the project type, budget,

and schedule, as well as the client’s financing objective, available resources, and

appetite for risk. Within each project delivery method, parties have varying roles

and contractual responsibilities.
