As a senior at Berklee College Of Music, I plan to remain in the Boston area to intern in the music industry. I believe this [songwriting internship] position would allow me to put my musical knowledge to use in new and challenging ways, allowing me to grow professionally and artistically in the process. I have researched your organization extensively, and I feel that I share your passion for great writing and exciting new music. I’m confident that my musical abilities will prove to be a valuable asset for you and your associates. For the past two years I have served as President of the Berklee Songwriters Club. This position entails assessing the marketability of songs which club attendees perform at weekly meetings, building relationships with industry professionals from outside the college, and auditioning singers, songwriters, and producers for large, student-run showcases. This, along with the fact that I’ve nearly completed the Berklee Songwriting Program, demonstrates that I have extensive experience in all areas of the field of songwriting – from critiquing songs artistically to working with artists and producers in order to bring those songs to life. Working at your organization will allow me to learn even more about the music I’m so passionate about. I welcome the opportunity to interview with you for the internship position. I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you for your time and consideration. Sincerely Brendan Fisher
