Brazilian rhythms – a resume
For comping
Left hand plays the bass line / right hand plays chords without root
Be careful with the accent , and play in all keys.
You can play the bass (left hand) oitava lower, if you like.
1) Bossa nova/samba 1 LH: bass line with root and 5ª
RH: simple rhythm
2) Bossa nova /samba 2
LH: bass line with root, 5a and chromatic aproximation
RH: simple rhythm
3) Bossa nova / samba 3
LH: bass line with root and 5a
RH: usual rhythm for “tamborim”
4) Bossa nova / samba 4
LH: bass line with root and 5a
RH: usual rhythm for “tamborim” altering low and high notes the chord
