Update on CCS Interest Activity

The main interest is develop and adapt technologies (CCTs for CCUS) suitable for local conditions using low cost options;

Develop capacity building programs, Clean Coal Research Center and networks for R&D;

Add value to coal R&D for high value products including CTL;

Increase partnership: Geologic Service(CPRM), Petrobras, Eletrobras, private companies, universities network and international partnerships (NETL, etc)

The Coal Industry is doing its voluntary contribution and looking ahead with actions:

• Coal and Oil network to develop technologies for Carbon Capture and Storage is being started;

• Brazilian Coal Association (ABCM) is a member of GCCSI;• International and Brazilian Conferences on CCS and Climate Change;

THERE ARE TWO CCS PROJECTS IN DEVELOPMENT BY SATC
